  1. 7ft deep and 4k acres? I can't believe it only drops a foot or two. The local lake to me is about 20 - 30 feet and 5k acres and it will drop 6-10 ft. I don't know your location so maybe you don't experience droughts. I guess I would throw either a topwater, SSR crankbait, burn a spinnerbait or throw a T rig.
  2. Not sure, I thought it might be a muscle in the human body. "Today, @A-Jay will be working on his B Lats" LOL
  3. That thing is pretty sweet. Hopefully it forces Shimanos hand to make a 70 Curado MGL.
  4. This may have already been posted, I searched but found nothing. This looks interesting, especially for the daiwa fans. http://www.daiwa.com/us/contents/reels/promos/index.html
  5. I wouldn't do it, but if someone else's chooses to, then that is their decision. No one own's a spot on the lake, I don't care who you are.
  6. I've been out in the boat fishing a bank heading North and maybe 15-20 yards off the bank, and another boat comes from the South about the same distance off the bank and before I even get close to them I will start moving away from the bank to show them I am letting them have it. No fishing spot is worth me getting my blood pressure up over. However, if someone ran up on me and told me I was in their "spot", my blood pressure would get high.
  7. I have the Frabill F4 bibs and pants and they work well. They are discontinued and you might get a good deal on some if you can find them.
  8. Sweet, I am gonna have to tell my daughters that there are other super cool guys out there who wear crocs.
  9. Mother Nature won out today. Weatherman said it would be 42 with a light wind this morning. Well, it was 36 with about a 20 mph N wind. We got on the water about 8:20 and my phone said 28 wind chill. We tried to find a point on the N side of the lake out of the wind. We had no such luck so we just fished a point I was familiar with. We threw a jerkbait, jig, underspin, ned rig and a senko. Caught nothing and moved to the other side of the lake to fish some grass I had found last time. We tried a lipless, senko, jig, brush hog and the ned rig again. I could only fish for about 10 min before I would have to stop to warm my hands up. My gloves were not in my bibs (my fault for not checking). The wind picked up and it started to sprinkle so we called it a day. Fishing is fun, but not when you are miserable and the conditions today made it pretty miserable.
  10. Everyone cheats in college sports, Nick Saban just happens to be the best at it.
  11. Wal Mart here had Senkos on clearance. Reg $6.48. Clearance $6.44. I passed on that sweet deal.
  12. You think you will throw a jig this year?
  13. Always excited to get out on the water. I remember being a little kid and getting my sports uniform and equipment laid out and ready the night before a game. I guess sometimes we just never grow up.
  14. https://www.yahoo.com/gma/3-dead-including-middle-school-student-oklahoma-bus-143107755--abc-news-topstories.html I am sure some of you have seen this, but this accident hits close to home for me. My wife's ex-husband (who I consider a friend) is a Coach at Konawa. I live about 20 miles from this small Oklahoma community (population 1,200 app). The young girl who lost her life was one of his athletes. He coaches JH softball in the summer and fall, but not in the spring. As a coach and bus driver myself, I can tell you that one of my biggest fears in life is having a wreck while driving a bus with kids on it. Those kids are someone else's babies and the responsibility you feel is incredible. I cannot imagine what the coach, girls, family members, and the community are going through. I am actually fishing in Konawa tomorrow and I am sure it will be on my mind.
  15. Good call, I forgot about them. We used to catch them when we visited my wife's mom in New Braunfels. Since his location is San Antonio, I am going with Catt.
  16. I vote warmouth. We have caught them while crappie fishing and that is what this appears to be.
  17. I know this is about kayaks, but fishing large bodies of water from a boat can get scary. We were on Texoma one day and the storm was coming from the North. It looked like it was a long ways off but by the time we got almost back the wind was so bad and the waves were so bad we were forced to turn around and go back South. We found a place to stay and waited for the storm to pass.
  18. I would have raised heck till I got it for the sale price.
  19. Do people really buy fishing products based off who endorses them? A few, maybe. A lot, doubtful. The reason I say this, Quantum has to be the least used reel that I know of yet the best Angler in the world for many years was their main man.
  20. Maybe a mod can change the title to Pflueger reels do not fit my spinning rods. That way it doesn't seem like a Dobyns bashing thread.
