Sneaking into private property
No matter what you are trying to do, this will turn into a thread about "those" guys. We all know that's who you are talking about. Nothing good comes from it.

Can you use a bait caster reel on a spinning rod?
Made it 7 hours anyway.

Hook Broke!
I had a buddy tell me it happened to him. I was skeptical, but I guess anything is possible. I would think the hook had to have been compromised in some way. If you don't want to share I understand, but what kind of hook was it.

MLF Heavy Hitters 2021
I like MLF/BPT, but sometimes I don't even think they know what is going on from one event to the next. LOL

Recommendations for battery setup...running two helix 7, power poles...
How far are you running it? Back of the boat to the front? I might go 10 ga into a fuse block or an inline fuse if that far.

MLF Heavy Hitters 2021
I know, but why are they all in the same boat that they use in the Cup events? I guess I thought this was a BPT event (where they use their own boat).

MLF Heavy Hitters 2021
I haven't watched any of this event so far until about 20 min ago. I thought this was a BPT event, but it looks as though they are fishing out of the MLF Cup boats. Did they ever mention this, or am I seeing things wrong?

Lake Fork April 6th-8th
Sorry to hear the fishing was bad. I agree though, we are a week or 2 behind here as well. That and the fact the wind has been 20 mph plus the last couple weekends has basically kept me off the water.

When bass don't bite...
They weren't biting Saturday, so I beached the boat a few times and looked for mushrooms. Only found 4 of those though. Good thing I wasn't fishing and foraging to survive. LOL

Shimano Curado 70 MGL vs. Daiwa Tatula SV 103
2020? I think they were released in 2016 or 2017 if memory serves me right.

I really enjoy modding fishing nets.
But, does it?

Daiwa Plug
I will give you $100 for that piece of junk Scorpion. I have seen many guys sell their putter or driver right there on the course. Not because the equipment is inferior, but because they just suck and want to blame something.

Random thought for the day
Wrong, chocolate milk comes from brown cows.

Another one of my hobbies
I don't understand any of this, but it sounds like you guys go to great lengths to make bread. I am lucky if I remember to marinate my steaks or chicken breast a few hours before putting them on the grill or smoker.

Used Very Good Condition Shimano Metanium 13 or New Curado MGL 70?
8 years old and she is what?

Used Very Good Condition Shimano Metanium 13 or New Curado MGL 70?
I own a Met 13 that is near mint and a Curado 70 MGL. I upgraded the handle and knobs on the Met and it is my spinnerbait reel. Great reel. That being said, I wouldn't pay $230 for that reel or a 70 MGL. I think I paid $180 for my 13 Met and $185 for my 70 MGL. All that said, I like the 70 MGL more than the 13 Met.

Shimano Warranty
This question gets asked every so often and I have had a few experiences dealing with Shimano and their warranty dept. this last year. I want to share what I have went through in the last year. The first time I had to send a rod back was early spring of 2020, I broke a Zodias rod at the tip because my braid had wrapped around the tip, I was hung up and tried to free it and the tip broke. I sent it back with no receipt and explained what happened. I had a replacement in about 2 weeks. Then, about a month later I was fishing with a 6'10 Crucial that was probably 10+ years old. I think my buddy stepped on it but I can't be sure. Anyway, it broke smooth in half when I got snagged and tried to free it. I am 100% sure the rod was compromised in some way. I was hesitant to send it back because I didn't feel like they owed me anything. I did end up sending it back obviously with no receipt and they replaced it with a Curado rod in about 3 weeks. Then in the fall of 2020 I broke a Poison Adrena on a hook set. I have set the hook the same way for 25+ years and I have never heard a rod explode like this rod did. It broke into 5 pieces. I sent it back with a receipt, pictures and a full explanation of exactly what happened. I waited about 2 months before I sent my first email. I sent probably 15 - 20 emails over the next few months and I NEVER once received a reply. I was upset, but I figured that was just the price of doing business. Today I get home and there is a rod tube under the car port. I knew I didn't order a rod so I was confused. I got out of my truck and noticed the tube had been basically broke in half. I read the label and noticed it was from Shimano Warranty. My heart sank as I was sure whatever was in there was broke. I took pics and proceeded to open the tube. To my surprise there was a brand new Poison Adrena in excellent condition. I looked it over 25 times or more and there is zero damage to the rod. Shimano came through again but the lack of communication just kills me. They sent me an email with the Zodias but I never heard a word on the last 2 rods. I do feel like 6+ months is a little bit long to wait, but when you get a replacement on a $360 rod, it sure makes you feel better. I hope this helps those who have questions about Shimano and their warranty.

Best JDM reels?
I have a Scorpion MGL and had a 12 Antares. IMO the Scorpion is the better reel. I am sure everyone will disagree, but the 12 Antares didn't do much for me.

Chris & Jimmy Houston Need Our Support
Sending my best to the Houston family. I never disclosed this, but I almost lost my step father back in Jan to a stroke/covid/dementia diagnosis. He has been home for about 3 weeks now and is doing okay. I hope she pulls through and makes a full recovery.
