  1. I have been guilty of buying way too much tackle in the past and then looking at all of it and asking myself why. I have slowly been selling it or giving away the things I know I won't use. I am down to about 6-8 colors of soft plastics and 4-5 colors of hard baits. I used to think that I needed 20 different colors because "you never know". Then I realized I didn't even use 3/4 of what I had. Now instead of buying 3 different colors of a 110 or 8 different color bags of Sweet Beavers, I will buy 3 of the same color 110 (a color I know produces) and 8 of the same color Sweet Beavers (a color that produces). Not only do I always have enough of a color on hand, but it also takes the guessing game out of it. If I can't catch them on what I have, then having 20 other colors to choose from probably isn't going to make a difference. I have narrowed it down to the following. Hard baits - Shad colors ie. Chrome/Blue, Chrome/Black, White. then Craw colors ie. Red, Chart or Yellow, Brown Soft Plastics - Green Pumpkin with red and blue fleck, Hematoma, Black/Blue fleck, red shad, june bug and white (colors may vary depending on manufacturer, but those are the basics)
  2. I have never fished with someone other than people I knew in a team format, but after reading some of these responses, I would have to guess there has to have been a few fist fights over the years in a boat.
  3. You won't accomplish that. Part of what makes the Bantam is the solid core body. There is no replicating that unless you get the Met 20.
  4. The "What the beginner" rig?
  5. That was going to be my first question as well. But with all the new members we have been getting lately that are also experts, I didn't even know if I should ask. LOL
  6. I have both, they are the same frame. No pics needed.
  7. I do the grocery shopping as well as all the cooking. The other day I was at the meat counter and the lady working asked me what we were having. I told her chicken fajitas. She said, "Do you cook every night?" I told her that I sure did. She said, "You must be trying to keep your wife around." I told her, "Not really, I'm just a whole lot better cook than she is." LOL
  8. I have no experience at all with them, and maybe someone here can chime in that does, but I might consider a solar powered trickle charger/maintainer. Like I said, I have never used one, it was just the first thing that came to my mind since we use similar solar powered items like that for hot wire fences.
  9. I like fishing and I like to watch both. I find that most of the guys who prefer BASS are the true old school "Biggest 5" type guys and there is nothing wrong with that. The guys who like MLF/BPT are the guys who like to see fish caught and there is nothing wrong with that. Kind of like hardcore NFL fans won't give the XFL a chance and then there are guys who just like football that will watch both.
  10. If you think it's worth it, then it's worth it. That's all that really matters. It doesn't matter what your buddy thinks or what anyone on the web thinks. Now if you spent his money or my money, then our opinion might matter. Otherwise, meh.
  11. Great news!
  12. This thread reminds me of something an elderly man told me one day when I was loading the boat up. He said " As fisherman we fish from the bank and think about all the fish we could catch out there (as he pointed out toward the lake)if we only had a boat, but then we get a boat and we come right back here to fish. "(as he points to the bank) ***Must have been watching me fish.
  13. Possible a light wake bait like a LC Mini SSR or something along those lines.
  14. I remember when I fished ponds and I thought I was a pretty good fisherman. Then I starting fishing lakes and realized I wasn't nearly as good as I was when fishing ponds.
  15. Well you changed your question after you made the original post. Just use the Met and put 20 lb Fluoro of your choice on it. Like I said before, people are probably tired of trying to help you since you don't like the answers you get.

  17. I don't care which one reel will out cast the other, I don't "test" them for distance. But the Met B is a MUCH better all around reel than the Chronarch MGL. Feels more solid and is a lot smoother while under a load. It would be 10x better at cranking IMO.
  18. I'm not on the Elite series, so I use a net with treble hook lures.
  19. If you are talking about with a fish, I don't notice. I guess one would be able to tell the difference throwing an A rig on a PG vs an XG, but I don't do that. I think you are over thinking it. Just buy any reel and go fish. You would be hard pressed to go wrong at $250.
  20. Everything. There isn't really anything to dislike about it. IMO, it can do anything.
  21. Maybe you can find an answer here. The first time you asked this question.
  22. Since it was just 45 cents I would make a fly swatter or spatula out of it.
