  1. Most people catch more fish on the color they throw most of the time. FWIW, mine is a variation of GP in some form or fashion.
  2. He's not bass fishing. I understand your confusion since this is a bass forum, but he is not bass fishing.
  3. Fishing! I actually gave this some thought the other day after checking my trail cams. I got to thinking about the approaching deer season and pondered what I would do on the weekends once season starts. I have never owned a boat till now so I will be forced to decide if I want to sit in a tree and hunt or be on the water fishing. I love hunting and I love the thought and anticipation of that giant deer showing up and giving you the opportunity to kill a trophy. I also love being on the water and trying to see if I have the ability to catch those green fish that can be so elusive at times. Every cast is thrown with the thought that it could be your new PB or even a DD fish. For me, it has to be fishing. I always say, a day on the water is one of the most pleasant, relaxing days I have so I enjoy each and every one of them.
  4. That's what I was going to suggest, but he has already said the Shimano drag sucks. LOL
  5. I experimented with them and settled on a 7' MH Fast using 40 lb braid. I would like to try a MH Glass but couldn't get my hands on an Expride.
  6. First thing I thought of....Heck, throw Scott Martin in there as well.
  7. The way I read it, is they were suggesting his current bunks were sagging as he has not bought the Ultimate Bunks yet.
  8. I always finish near the top in the tournaments I don't enter. LOL
  9. I don't use any MH for spinning rods, but I would think you could throw top water with it, flukes, and maybe spinnerbaits. There is a STX30 for sale here in the classifieds that would make you a good reel.
  10. 1986 Chevy SWB 4x4 I "bought" it when I was 15. I use the term liberally because I mowed yards for 3 summers and my parents were the CEO of the operation and kept the money and told me I could afford it. Pretty sure I might have paid maybe half. Anyway it was way too much truck for me. I know my parents had no idea what I was getting into when we bought it. It had a 3" lift, 35" tires, 400 small block, open headers and would run. Not something a 16 year old really needs. It got around 8 miles a gallon with ol lead foot behind the wheel so needless to say, I didn't go many places. Went through about 4 starters before we realized the open headers were burning them up. I only had it about a year when I sold it and went to a regular 2wd chevy silverado. Looking back, I wish I still had the truck as it was super clean. My son turned 15 in August so I guess we will start looking for his first car soon. Unlike me, he could really care less about cars. In fact, I think he could care less if he even drives to be honest.
  11. My wife was in the boat with me the other day laying out getting her tan on I suppose. I caught a small one, unhooked it and tossed it back in. She immediately snapped at me: "Sit down" she said. I said "Say what?" She responded "That's a 2 minute penalty" LOL. I'm not sure how long she had been waiting to say that, but it caught me off guard.

  13. I throw the jr on a 7'2 MH Zodias and the regular on a 7'2 H Zodias. I just acquired a 7'3 XH Expride so it may take over frog duties, not sure yet.
  14. Your line has a lot to do with it as well.
  15. I was just thinking about that today. Been throwing a few more moving baits lately and I use my Bantams for it and I think they just keep getting better.
  16. I bought most of mine when they were $223, best money you can spend on a reel IMO at that price.
  17. Only managed one good one this morning. Lost a big one that broke my heart and caught this one 30 min later. This one went 4-8
  18. This one has changed a little bit since the last time I posted it, but I think this is mostly right. LOL
  19. Why are we talking about 10 years now? This thread was about 3 trips with the rod, not 10 years. But, like every other thread, it tends to go every other direction.
  20. I hear you, I wouldn't think it would do so that fast though.
  21. That is a process that intentionally manipulates the material, I would hope catching a few fish wouldn't have an adverse affect on the material.
  22. How are you trying to contact them? I was on a live chat with them just yesterday. It took about 20 min for them to get into the chat after I initiated it, but they were helpful. I have called a couple times and prompted to leave a voicemail and they would call me back as soon as they could. Both times they called back in less than 30 min.
  23. I would hope the carbon doesn't break in like a leather glove would. Sure would be tough on arrow companies.
