  1. I've been spending more and more time with a local youth. He is 16 and has only been bass fishing a dozen times or so...mostly with me. He uses my spinning equipment. I want to buy him his own rod and reel. But I don't know what to buy him or how much to spend...I mean I know what my preferences are but I don't want to spend 300 bucks on a combo like the ones I use. On the chance that he loses intrest or something. Oh and his mom is single and can barely keep food on the table... Money isnt an issue with me.. but I don't know how much I should spend... Opinions
  2. ^^I've heard that rain was a good thing
  3. Prayers for you Roger. I can't relate to your situation, but the One that I pray to does...so we can only put it in his hands. My sincerest thoughts dude.

  7. Option 1. What is the panic about? Its a decent reel. Use it as is. Fish anything you want on it that you would with a 7 to 1. Gear ratio. Again I don't know what the panic about.... Put it on a jig, t rig, pitching rod, flipping rod, frog rod....

  11. I really think you express your disappointment in a letter or email to the owner of the marina.
  12. Yeah it would. I have the endurance 695cb and its what I use for squarebills, and traps. On occasion I will use it for some medium divers like the Dt 10 and Little John MD. Its a good rod for cranks around cover. Good strong back bone. Go for it.
  13. Torn between a Sammy and a Spro BronzeEye
  14. When I'm pitching Texas rigs weather its a lighter plastic or a heavier plastic, I normally will put a bobber stop on and for the most part ill just run it up the line and i can pull it down during the day to peg it tight when needed or around thick stuff. Most of the time on heavier weights, 3/4-1.5oz ill peg it, . Something to think about.....
  15. You are gonna love that rod. It loads pretty good with a half ounce jig or Texas rig.. it makes pitching pretty easy. Good back bone too. I punch with it sometimes too. I use it a lot for deep jig fishing and it works pretty good for big ol spoons and traps
  16. Powell endurnace 775 for 150. Its 200 dollar rod that is a steal at that price.
  17. If a guy is bold enough to ask me to fish a spot that I was fishing, I would let him. ....and I would leave. That kind of boldness is pretty scarce these days. I respect that the man asked you.
  18. If one comes too close, I normally ask myself. Is this spot productive and do they look like they know better..If not, ill crank up the Johnson 200 and let it run for about 10 seconds, then ill rooster tail away. Most of the time...when people creep up on me, its newer fisherman, only sometimes it is a knowledgable fisjerman.
  19. Sometimes the fish just seem like they prefer a worm, sometimes they want a craw presentation. I like that jigs have exposed hooks, I'm gonna try a jig over a t rig craw until I can't can't get away with it. Meaning they either want something else or the exposed hook of the jig is getting hung up too much. And the same for swimming a jig. I try to take advantage of the exposed hook if it is a really snaggy area, ill t rig it, peg it, and swim it. If swimming the t rig needs bulk, ill will add a punch skirt.
  20. 27" striper on 8lb sunline floro. Drop shot fish.
