  1. mine lays flat on the garage floor. i was hoisting it up above my garage door, but the ride 135 is a little long and heavy to do that. now i just hoist the wife's 10' up and leave mine laying on my garage floor. storing it like that will not damage the hull. i've always been afraid of storing it outside because of a) theft and temperature fluctuations that may actually lead to oil canning. i've been contemplating making a pvc cart for it and may end up storing it with that somehow... but that's a couple projects down the road!
  2. nice.... looks like you're pulling out the big worms too.... it's 10" worm time around these parts too.
  3. that's awful man, i can't imagine. hopefully you get yourself back up and running soon enough.
  4. i like siebert's 1/4 oz finesse jigs, hard to beat. i have better numbers on the finesse jig than a bigger mop style jig, but not to say it doesn't catch some bigger fish.
  5. i've had a job since i was 13 aside from being unemployed about 3 months in 2010 when i was 16 my dad told me to get a job and pay for my own sh** and he wasn't kidding. i did and have been self sufficient since. you have to be motivated to be successful and frankly you don't sound motivated.
  6. i think i just snorted.....
  7. netbait t mac worms are underrated..... they work anyway you fish them.
  8. welcome aboard from the other side of the city....
  9. you guys really make it tough to say no..... i'm looking at some other options for getting a 7" MHXF to do the jig work, but may also bite on this rod and find a place for it in the rotation.... sounds like i'd nearly be foolish not to!
  10. i like the s rover i have. also liked the wavers for the money, but got rid of them along with all my other swim baits. so i agree they make some decent stuff. if you don't like it or want it, just move on.... that's the beauty of the free market....
  11. i've caught 2 anchors/anchor lines before and recently snagged an small ultralite spinning setup from under someone's dock. it was pretty rusted out, so no good.
  12. Ok, you guys may be the real live bait monkeys! all of these thoughts have run through my head as well.... He wants $120, but would likely take $110 if not $100.... i may just have to get it and give it a shot... could probably get my money back at that price.
  13. Does anyone have any experience with these 4 piece travel rods? Looking to buy one for use while traveling for work. Looks like it could make it in a carry on bag. I'm thinking something like the 6'6"MF model. Thanks.
  14. i put my ride 135 in the back of my nissan frontier.... shorter bed than yours and have had zero issues with it.
  15. thanks for telling me what i didn't want to hear fellas....
  16. Unfortunately that's what I was thinking....
  17. welcome and Go Heels!
  18. I am looking to get a "new" rod for fishing jigs.... someone i know has one for sale, it's a St Croix Avid 7'MF casting rod in good shape at a fair price. I throw 3/8oz jigs with trailers about 75% of the time.... the other 25% split evenly between 1/4 oz jigs and 1/2 oz jigs, again with trailers. my question is would this rod suit my needs for the type of jig fishing i'm doing here? light and moderate cover being the typical spots for my fishing, not a whole lot of really heavy cover around my fishing spots.... any first hand experience with this rod would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  19. no doubt looks clean and he thought that one through..... i just about cried putting a 1/2" diameter hole in mine to run some wiring.... and that was on the top of the yak!
  20. brave is one word for cutting a 4" hole in the bottom of the yak..... i don't think i could bring myself to do it!
  21. pretty sure they call that "boat ownership" glad you're up and running now....
  22. i don't have them because of A) the cost the whole soldering process.... but some people have the supernova kayak lights.... the look cool, but i barely ever fish in the pitch black dark so it doesn't seem practical to me
  23. I feel like these "upper level" leagues often have more competitive parents than children.... not at the fault of the children necessarily. just because one isn't driven to play sports at a competitive level does not mean they are not driven. my brother hated sports of all kinds as a kid, but was nearly forced to play because it's what everyone does in a small town. he has zero competitive force or drive for sports, but i've never seen someone so driven to succeed at work. he works harder and smarter than anyone i know, driven by the desire to be successful and provide for his family. even for these top level athletes, few if any will ever play above high school ball anyways.
  24. all honest answers it looks like!! i usually struggle to catch 5....
  25. just received a christmas card in the mail 2 weeks ago.... addressed to the family that lived here before me. we bought this house a year ago....
