Going To Buy Either A St. Croix Avid Or G. Loomis Imx
never used the loomis, but recently bought that very model of the avid. VERRRRRRRY happy with that rod. For what you're describing, i'd think it would handle very well. I most often thrown 3/8oz jigs and it handles them perfectly.

On A Budget
heavy/light is a relative term much like fishing deep or shallow.... but when compared to reels in the same price and spec range, it is one of the heavier ones in its class.
-
On A Budget
at 7.9 oz the tatula doesn't really meet the lightweight component. It is a nice reel, but a bit "bulky" feeling to me and i have fairly big hands.

Baby Back Ribs Rip Off
It's for reasons like this that the crazy state of California makes retailers label EXACTLY what the product is. Cannot call it a gallon of paint, must say gallon size (there are roughly 126 oz in the can allowing enough room for up to 2 oz of color additive) Cannot call it a 2x4 since the measurements are different, must call it a 1.88 x 3.74 or whatever the actual measurement is.... now before long they will say "Full Rack of Ribs (13 bones, 3.6 inches long)"

Dubstep/progressive House Music?
i like a lot of different music, but have never been a fan of dubstep. and i have always like EDM, big fan of some old school breaks... i think as a background music for some youtube fishing videos is about the only home for dubstep.... make sure that the "drop" is around the same timing as the hookset and you've got it....

Nephew Snags Some Smallmouth
After a fun filled day on the lake pulling the nephews on a tube, my dad and I took my 3 year old nephew in the river in a flat bottom jon boat to try and snag some catfish. We pulled some of the green and black caterpillars off the tree leaves to use for some live bait. Pulled up into the hole and anchored up just before dark. Within about 40 minutes, we had 3 decent sized smallies in the boat, a nice bluegill and about 3 or 4 smallies jump off. No catfish to speak of, but i preferred the smallies anyways!! He gave us one of those picture perfect moments that you could only expect from a commercial or a movie or something.... after the second fish was boated, he looks at my dad and asks "Paw, when are we going fishing again?" It was a great time for all of us, but my nephew especially.

Bank Fishing In North Atlanta Area?
not right at the dime, went twice but once was crowded and the other time the water was just too high. i've fished down the river some for stipers, but never had any luck. have caught a few small spotted bass out of there though and some trout too. been meaning to take the kayak and put in right below the dam. want a little striper sleigh ride action....

Bank Fishing In North Atlanta Area?
^^ good stuff there monster stripers are caught below the dam all the time i've been to that murphy candler park.... you can wet a line, but the water is super shallow. over time a bunch of silt has filled that thing in. it's pretty tough to find some good spots around here to hit from the bank that aren't totally fished out or on private property.

How Long Did It Take You To Master The Baitcaster?
me too..... except the spools were 1500 yards.... i can't say i've mastered it.... i do well with it, but still have problems from time to time. i do 10,000% better with a sidearm or roll type of cast anyways. and from a kayak an overhead cast is not very easy and can often be counter-productive.

Flipping Baits
just looked it up and it's actually the one called "love bug" however, i also have the super bug and it's killer as well. kind of a hybrid for the usual green pumpkins/black & blue

the curado 300/301e are awesome if you can find a good used one. sometimes you can find some deals on them too.

How Cool Is This: Livetarget Hollow Body Sunfish
i hear ya.... i'm just saying for the money they're charging seems they'd like powder coat that and try to match the color of the body at the very least... i'm no expert in bait making, just saying for the money....

Looking For A New Spinning Rod
not the most sensitive spinning rod, but for the money it'll work = berkley lightning i bought one when starting out and it served me very well (until i broke it in transport - 100% my fault)

Line Welder? Really?
they've got a vision alright, could be a game changer some day. i think they need to work the kinks out first and honestly i think showing the actual "weld" and some real life demos and such would be a plus, they only showed it for a second in the video. another question to raise would be abrasion resistance on that weld. if it's some kind of a hot glue substance i don't think it would be very resistant to abrasions.

How Cool Is This: Livetarget Hollow Body Sunfish
funny to me that they make that paint scheme look so realistic, but leave that big unpainted silver weight on the bottom side (side the bass will actually see) seems they could paint it or something.... i know it won't make much of a difference, but still.
