  1. i've caught crappie, bluegill, catfish, bass and trout in the same day with a small floating jerkbait. always fun to try and guess what you've hooked into....
  2. I tore it up this time guys!! My best fantasy fishing week ever i'm sure. I had: A: Dean Rojas B. Chris Lane C. Ken Iyobe D. Bobby Lane E. Brandon Palaniuk
  3. have you checked the Everything Else forum lately??
  4. Just fished allatoona on sunday (nothing, no bites, white cap waves, miserable). I'd say Lanier too....
  5. i just lost my gerber river knife a few weeks ago due to a foolish move on my part.... i'll be replacing it soon. awesome nice to have on the water. i think they run about $35-$40. not for everyone, but it worked very well for what i needed it for. i usually have a small pocket knife in my life vest and ALWAYS have one clipped on my front pocket so i'm usually covered.
  6. met brandon palaniuk at the BPS north of atlanta and he was a genuinely nice guy. i didn't ask for a pic or anything, but he was scoping out the new electronics and showing me features and everything.... really cool guy to talk to. my fishing buddy's wife and hank parker's daughter are childhood friends. i am told he is the most down to earth and humble guy you will meet...
  7. they're awesome as a swim jig trailer. I fished them with a small 1/16 oz jig head not too long ago and really liked the action, but caught none that way so far.
  8. Nice fish Speed!
  9. you're alright by me......
  10. netbait super tmac 9" worms are my go to
  11. that's pretty sick! i could imagine a pretty sweet looking Tarheels rod!
  12. 6'10" MHF Tatula rod and 12lb yozuri hybrid for me
  13. yeah, sorry i was talking leader length from braid to the hook
  14. literally listen to everything, but lately the 2 stations getting the most play are Tool and Arctic Monkeys
  15. good deal A Jay. i typically fish some fairly stained water so it may not be a big deal for me.
  16. what type of knot do you prefer for connecting the braid to fluoro? i'll be using a shimano cumara (drop shot model) and if i remember correctly, the guides are mightly small, i would need a pretty small and compact knot i would think. thanks!
  17. funny thing is last night i was looking at the diameters while shopping at DSG .... the 6# trilene, 8# invisx and 20# PP all had the same diameter (like .23 or something along those lines) i just have some 20# braid already and already had some 8# invisx so had hoped to get away with using what i had
  18. caught one before on an ultralight setup with 4# test with live worms. felt like the fight in the old man and the sea.... took me forever to land that bad boy, but it was as fun as any other fish to catch!
  19. how long of a leader are you guys using? i just got some gamakatsu swivel shot hooks coming in. trying to determine how long of a leader you would tie between the braid and the first swivel of the hook? thanks!
  20. thanks to an article you had on another site somewhere (long since lost the article) you walked through the heat shrink method.... after a couple dry runs trying to find the heat shrink tube, i found it and never looked back. it's ridiculous how much longer the bait will last, not to mention your hook will never move during the cast. thanks wayne!
  21. those baby craws are awesome for the finesse jigs or for the arky jigs, perfect size.
  22. I have a setup that I'm going to dedicate strictly to the drop shot and learn how to fish it this year. That said, I'm trying to figure out which way to go with my line. Thanks for the input.
  23. everybody i have is middle of the pack except for kelly jordon who was 2nd after day 1!!
  24. swim jig would be a nice subtle presentation, somewhat weedless.
