The Most Expensive Lure You Lost
invest in a lure retriever/plug knocker and fish your lures hard. there's about a 95% chance of getting them back if you can reach them with a lure retriever. i have the BPS bill dance unit and it paid for itself after about the 2nd use. that said, i lost a yellow bluegill lake fork popper that hurt more than anything. they go for about $11 so not the most expensive one i ever lost, but the thing had caught who knows how many fish. something about this one stupid popper just killed it in this local apartment complex pond i fish. i snagged it one day in a limb that i just could not get it out of. to this day i want to climb that tree and find that bait..... same lake, nearly same tree i lost a weedless hudd that was likely the most expensive bait i lost to date.

Jigs
look at some of the mata series jigs from site sponsor siebert outdoors. he can better explain, but the addition of rubber to the silicone skirt makes the jig looks nearly twice as big, but doesn't add much in the overall weight of it. i have a few and they're well made.

Winter Haven Chain
that's 2 keepers right there Roger!! nice day on the water and obviously beat my afternoon in the office!!

Megabass Vision 110
french pearl/orange belly, gp pro blue and ITO clear raker are the ones i have in the tackle box. the colors on the baits are phenomenal! i do agree as well that the colors on the computer monitor differ a bit from the real ones. i think they're just more holographic looking/blended than the camera can display in a still shot.

Right Vs Left Handed Retrieve
i would suggest searching both items on e bay. then viewing the sold listings to see what they've actually sold for recently. then price them accordingly.

Met This Cool Feller
that's cool! i met palanuik at BPS last year here in GA just after he put on a seminar (which i did not get to see). i approached him on the sales floor as he was scoping out some electronics. as you said, very approachable and very nice guy. i wish him better luck this year than he had in the classic!

Tires
i have these on my 2wd nissan frontier and it makes me feel like i have a 4wd with the grip that i get.... it won't be too long until i need to replace what is on there, but am about 9+5% confident i will be replacing with the same thing that is on there.

Skunkville
my one swipe was on a C&C special one of the bladed jigs i got from you, specifically the black and blue with a SK river bug vertical..... just not committed enough to come in the kayak....

Right Vs Left Handed Retrieve
i went through the same thing. had all RH reels, then one weekend i tossed a lefty for a while and realized i had been missing out. i went through the painful process of converting my reels and taking small losses on the RH models to then fund new LH models. The flea market on this site is a great place to both sell and then buy some slightly used gear.

Skunkville
Went to a small public lake yesterday in Middle Georgia with a buddy to try and take advantage of the awesome conditions. Full moon, warming temps, very light wind just everything i could ask for. got to the ramp right at daylight and were the first ones on the water. Launched the kayaks and off we went. Fished all around the lake from about 3-30 feet of water and just couldn't buy a bite. I was trying it all: crankbait, bladed jig, drop shot, jig, jerkbait, topwater, underspin w/ fluke. Nothing. My buddy was trying an array of baits as well, nothing. Saw about 5 or 6 other boats out by about 2 oclock when we decided to pack it in. I did have a short swipe at the bladed jig and my buddy had a tap on the plastic worm, but nothing that resembled a committed fish. We were marking a few fish as well, but just not able to force a bite. I'm still looking to catch a fish on a couple new combos i recently acquired so the mission will likely continue this coming weekend as we are supposed to see warmer temps all week! Still kind of dumbfounded as to the zero fish.

Spooked Them Off The Bank.
usually when i see a half dozen torpedos fire off in less than 5 feet of water it's massive carp. if they were bass, quit telling people about it

Testing Hook Sets
i bet it's a 2x6 and 6 feet long next time you catch it

Line Question
it's a lot like beers. some like Ales, other pilsner, some IPA, etc. ..... some might cost 25 cents some might cost $15.... but in the end they'll all get you drunk. all these lines will work and catch fish or they wouldn't be able to sell them. you need to figure out what you fish most, where you fish most and what is right for you.

Topwater
i usually opt for a popper over the walking baits, but throw them both. the river2sea rover is an awesome walking bait for me. i've recently splurged on a couple megabass pop max and pop x's and really like those!

Biggest Bass
this is why pics are misleading and the scales do not lie!!! i'm not disputing you one bit clayton, just saying that the one you caught in mexico looks so skinny to me i wouldn't have placed it over 10 lbs. and if you held those 2 pics up asking which weighed more i would have said the Kansas bass. but that's just me and my observation, others will surely see it different. the girth on the kansas fish just leads my brain to think it would have weighed more than the Mexico fish! either way, SWEEEEEEEEEET fish!!

Have You Ever Obsessed Over A Particular Bass?
tag team effort if you want.... two rods are better than one!!

Close Enough Copycat To Casey Ashley's Bait?
^ maybe i'm a little gun shy because i just had an *** black casting rod break on the 3rd or 4th cast and that was within the specs of the rod. i may try out the grub and if i feel like the rod can handle the additional weight, switch up to the fluke style bait. i really just wanted to try and replicate his setup and see if i could manage some similar results this weekend! we shall see!

New Frog Rod!
i may just not be doing it right!! it was kind of the same for me with my 7'6" swimbait rod i had though.... i felt like it was too long to fish comfortably from the yak which was a contributing factor to me ditching the swimbait setup. i think it's mostly personal preference, but i just like the shorter rods from the yak. now on the banks, the 7' - 7'6" rods are fantastic in terms of leverage over the fish. i also feel like when fishing the kayak you can kind of move or position yourself a bit better to work the fish out of cover and thus the power and length of the rod may not be as important (personal opinion, no science nor facts involved). i may have to try a few rods out before jumping on the next one to see if i could find a longer rod with a better tip like you mention to overcome my problems!

Close Enough Copycat To Casey Ashley's Bait?
I found this jighead/underspin whatever you want to call it in my tackle in the garage last night. i've never used it. weighed in at a little above 3/8 oz. i was going to put a fluke jr on there, but it would make it too heavy to throw on my rod rated for 5/8oz. so i opted for the single tail grub yamamoto glow in the dark color (not sure the specific name). you think this is a close enough copy cat? anyone else ever fished something somewhat similar with any success? i fish in some waters near and similar to hartwell so i figured why not? i'm not really a crowd follower, but i also really enjoy catching fish!!!!!

No Lunker Club?
it's official, someone else can moderate the lunker club thread and i will moderate the "skunker club" i don't much care for the lunker club thing in bassmaster anyways.... often minimal details and misleading photos.
