  1. NFL - Broncos MLB - Braves NCAA - UNC Tarheels Golf - A lot of people
  2. yellow magic popper. pricey bait, but it just catches lots of fish.
  3. i'll be testing out some 8lb yo-zuri as soon as it arrives and i get the first chance to hit the water! previously i used straight braid 20lb. it works, but does pull the bait out of the fish's mouth more than i liked.
  4. hooligan, those are some sweet looking reels you got there. shame to get rid of that ITO, that thing is a beauty. absolutely awesome looking reels though! i love the look of those ZPI knobs
  5. ^top response of the week......
  6. i like it when people ask "can you really fish out of that kayak?" the smart** in me wants to say no the depth finder is so i don't run ashore or hit an iceberg and the 6 rods you see are actually masts for the sail..... but of course i say oh yeah and move along....
  7. Got a at croix 5'4" ultra lite Rod orig $109.99, I paid $41. Got a Shimano citica 201g6 for $37! I wanted to pick up the spinning pfleuger patriarch badly. I think it would have cost $77 out the door! I've just bought WAYYYYYYYY too much stuff this month!!
  8. i heard this from my grandad and uncle and they wouldn't even know what a solunar chart was if they had all day and the internet at their disposal..... i fish a lake that has quite a few cows around the place and from time to time i do see them laying down. however, i've never noticed enough of a difference in the catch rate to validate or de-bunk it..... just a funny old wives tale type fishing scenario i suppose
  9. my brother goes all the time.... he's a frogleghead... he likes them so much he caught pounds and pounds and pounds of them and had them fried up and served at his wedding, redneck delicacy.....
  10. looks to me like you could use a Lay's potato chip bag as a reference and just have someone sew one up for you..... and why is it that they take the smallest yet most meaningful items man? just aint right.....
  11. i'm digging that bass color!! nice work!!
  12. man, was about to pull the trigger on some hat comments..... then i saw your disclaimer at the bottom..... nice fish there though!
  13. how about when the cows are laying down the fish aren't biting? anyone else ever hear of this one?
  14. i have both, but really feel like i get more bites on the 78s. i admittedly don't fish jerkbaits a whole lot so my experience doesn't much count.... are you catching more on the 100s or just better size fish vs the 78s?
  15. yes, i was saying that the netbait super tmac i suggested only came in 9" but is a killer bait
  16. when oil is our #1 import, yet our #3 export it's all just a big game of musical chairs.... the average consumer being the one left without a chair in the end. though i do agree it's nice to see a lower price at the pump right now as that does put money back into the hands of workers. The "trickle down effect" does not work as is more than obvious, but lower costs of goods does allow for a greater retention of one's "wealth"....
  17. the sinking property of fluoro does not make it a topwater line for me...
  18. i need to swing by the local one i suppose
  19. ^^ and they biodegrade slow or never in our lifetime so try not to lost them.... take a stout rubberband run through the bottom and connect to the reel handle, cheap and easy fix. even the ones with the elastic already attached seem to come undone after time. but man how nice it is to pull a rod and just start fishing it rather than untangling for days
  20. like bluebasser said, if i feel like i have a great chance at getting it back, i will spend a little extra. so for jerkbaits and topwaters i feel like that's ok. I have a couple megabass popmaxs and some LC pointers, but again i feel like those are easy to retrieve. otherwise, i'm not going overboard too much on the tackle. either way though it does make me a little sick to lose a nice quality lure no matter what the cost....
  21. had a 78dd american shad that had some killer action. got it caught on a dock post like a fool, but one very very light and fragile pull and the bill snapped right off of it! may have been a fluke, but i haven't bought another since. i love the 78sp and 100sp, but may have a bad taste in my mouth now for the deep divers
