  1. you should talk to and listen to this guy....
  2. isn't gruden the guy they say every time a coaching position opens up????
  3. i'm greens or browns first, then black and blue seem to catch my "bigger" fish on the greens where i'm fishing
  4. care to elaborate? i'm not dead set on either of them, just both receive incredibly high marks all around so i thought it was a win win on them both. definitely hear you out on the other options better or as good in that market.
  5. good advice here. if bait cast combo, can't go wrong with a tatula reel for $100 on amazon and an *** black rod for $100 anywhere you look. look at americanlegacyfishing and sign up for email newsletter. get $25 coupon and get *** for like $85 shipped.... i have one *** and soon to purchase a second.
  6. the golf club analogy really sums this up..... you could play 18 holes with a 4 iron, 8 iron and a putter but it could make for some long holes and frustrating situations. really is just different strokes for different folks. some are simpletons and some (like me) like to overcomplicate things a bit in an effort to eventually simplify....
  7. for $20 bucks you should be happy with it....
  8. congratulations man! that's a big step, huge commitment.... the dog i mean...... no really congratulations!
  9. I'm looking to buy a new reel for spinnerbaits/buzzbaits. Which reel do you prefer? Feel free to comment with any reasons as to why one or the other. Thanks.
  10. Thinking about rigging up my jerkbait/topwater rod with copolymer line (looking at McCoy Mean Green). Couple questions come to mind: 1. What size copoly would you recommend for these applications? 2. Do you back the reel with copoly or just spool it straight on? 3. What knot is preferred with copolymer? Thanks for the input.
  11. glad to hear that, hope your son's surgery goes well.
  12. tons of different answers, but i appreciate all of them. can't quite land on which route to go, but will likely be either 12lb mono (likely the easiest route to take) or the 30lb braid/leader for jerkbaits option which i like as well. thanks for all the opinions!
  13. good question because it's not about your favorite band/artist, but more about a single album you could listen to forever.... for me a good album is one that doesn't make me want to skip a single song. It's hard to just pick one, but a couple maybe yeah. 311 - soundsystem nas - illmatic rage against the machine - evil empire AND battle of los angeles, just combine into one album....
  14. Todd Ward is the Tin Cup of fishing you're doing it wrong
  15. lake fork magic popper... don't know what they do that differs from other poppers but it flat out catches fish. a bit pricey, but man it just works. aside from that, i just say jigs. i just fished them more this year and picked up even more confidence in them.
  16. were you throwing it on the new reel?
  17. all good looking fish clayton!
  18. What size and type of line would you suggest for a jerk bait/topwater setup?
  19. Good stuff, but what will i do at work tomorrow????
  20. i asked mike this very question and he says he never trims, just fishes them straight as he makes them
  21. top quality stuff from siebert. i have a couple in bluegill and shad patterns.
  22. i've only fished there a few times and never with much luck. i'm looking forward to any responses myself!
  23. i have 2 of these models and love them. that rough feel and look you mentioned do not bother me or the fish.
