  1. nice fish in those pics!! sure beats my wednesday and thursday!!
  2. provided there is a next time.... which luckily in this case there was. Disclaimer: Written from my computer at my "comfy office job" (if there is such a thing)
  3. for what it's worth, pradco and pure fishing do not manufacture the baits. they are the parent companies whose sole interest is money. Pure Fishing is actually a subsidiary of Jarden Corp brands which was recently purchased by Newell Rubbermaid. Pradco is also a subsidiary owned by EBSCO, a major conglomerate, that does not manufacture the baits themselves. in retail, almost nothing is what it seems!
  4. i've never tried these. they look just like the grown up road runner/bait casey ashley was tossing at hartwell so i imagine they'll work. looks like a quality swivel on there which seems to be what sets most of these "underspin" baits apart for me. allows that blade to get movement even on the slowest retrieve.

no idea, but that is one cool looking bait! i'd make it a wall hanger.
  6. i have that RAM arm and it works on the kayak, but it might not be long enough for the jon to be honest. i do think that you could figure out a way to rig that transducer up though with a long enough bolt to go through and put some spacers in between.
  7. what kind of kayak do you have and what kind of method do you want to do for the transducer? i bought the yakattack cellblok (granted more than i wanted to spend at the time) but it really is an all-in-one solution. best part for me was that i drilled ZERO holes into the kayak. second best part is i can remove the whole unit in about 15 seconds, if that long.
  8. i'll beat the dead horse a bit myself and remind you to find a comfy PFD and WEAR IT. otherwise, have fun! those NY fat girls better keep their mouths shut!
  9. you might check out tackleunderground if you haven't already.... there's A TON of info over there related to bait making/modifications
  10. that mean green jig looks great! i'd toss it and expect to get bit!
  11. agree, fishingskirts.com is great. careful though, you may get overwhelmed and buy more than you need (i did for sure).
  12. this got better and better as i read further down.....
  13. welcome to the site and the state! let us know where you're at, georgia's got some really diverse fisheries, so you narrow it down you might get a little more help. Also another great source of GA info, tons of local articles, is GON (GeorgiaOutdoorNetwork).
  14. better clean your act up!!!
  15. I agree that it reads like a cover letter, but that may not be a bad thing. I might separate it into 2 parts. Cover letter and then a true resume of your accomplishments. May or may not be beneficial to list how many spots were in each of these tournaments (1st/25 boats or 200 boats, etc.) I agree completely that you should take out current sponsors, instead maybe something like "current sponsors and/or references available upon request" Not sure what you're trying to say on that last part of this sentence: It would bring me joy to help promote a company, and watch people refer to your company to other anglers. I wouldn't say recently landed, 15 months or so ago. In general, i think you could do a little better on this paragraph. Explain where you went to school, where you graduated in terms of GPA and all that. Then elaborate a bit on what about this job would make you a better asset than someone with another occupation (i.e. time on the water, around fishermen, etc.) I just recently landed my career in December of 2014 and it’s what I went to school for. I currently work atGeneral Dynamics Electric Boat in New London, CT, where I work as an Electrical Cableway Submarine Draftsman. I work for the government, where negotiating is a huge aspect of my job. We need to be able to sell a certain product to the US Navy. I have become pretty good at my job and believe that I could be a great asset to your company let me finish by saying, this is honestly one of the better "fishing resumes" i've read on this site. i think you could fine tune it a bit and really have a very legitimate resume to present to companies. I do not tournament fish, do not have nor seek any sponsors, but i appreciate your passion and drive to do so yourself. i wish you much luck with it!
  16. you talking about casting or spinning? What power rating and action is the rod you're looking at? Rod Length? Some details on what you're looking at will help you get some more detailed responses.
  17. i was going to say if it's breaking near the reel, i don't think it's the rod. check your line guide really well. the Q tip method Tom mentions will tell you if you have a problem. i've been using the sniper for a while and it's great line, completely changed my negative opinions on fluoro.
  18. it is cheap, a big reason why i use it.... but it also just flat out works. 15lb is good for a lot of techniques. May be a little large for cranking or some finesse tactics though. i use 15lb for buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, swim jigs, squarebills, paddletail swimbaits on larger jigheads. A lot more i'm sure, those are just what i can think of for now. I've used it for worms and jigs too, but have since gone to either braid or fluoro on those techniques. there's not a single moving bait i wouldn't fish with big game.
  19. what brand of fluoro? the line diameter differs greatly from one brand to another.
  20. OMG, that's where this lip herpes must have come from!!!! My wife thinks i picked it up last weekend in Vegas......
  21. forget about the boat, putting you and your co-angler's life in danger is ridiculous.... regardless of whether or not it could be done. that first bump on that first rock could have EASILY put either of them in that water.
  22. first off, welcome! I say frivolous because the court already made a decision and now they're wasting tax dollars to try and overturn said decision. Now they open up the opportunity for some other moron to sue the landowner for creating a public nuisance: "Supreme Court granted summary judgment to Brown and the State, declaring the waterway navigable-in-fact and the owners' efforts to deter access a public nuisance." If you go on to read the facts of navigable waters that Scott F provided (http://www.nationalrivers.org/river-fact-or-fiction.html) it says that navigable in fact means navigable in law (doesn't mean time of year, means when there is enough water there to pass through, it is navigable). So again, this is why I say frivolous.
  23. that's a good thought. should have maybe taken a few more pics now that i'm thinking about it....
