Yeah that would be the comparison I'd love to see. Considering the hand Gary Dobyns had in the development of the Powell's. I've heard both sides of the story on those two models but I'd like to hear it from someone who is neutral instead of omg omg Dobyns is the greatest.

I'm guessing it's probably better then an endurance. At least I'd hope so for the price difference but is it like night and day? I'm just curious as so many people are all about Dobyns these days and Powell's seem to be looked over in the rod market.

I'll add to what ww2 said. The 7'6 Jadewood is a heavy rod and very tip heavy also. Doesn't balance well at all. So that eliminated 2 of your possible choices for you.

No favorite since Tiger isn't playing in it. I would like to see him win a few more majors and catch the record. I used to live in Augusta ,Ga years ago. Washington road is a mad house right now. People on the side of the road with signs trying to buy tickets. Sucks I wasn't in to golf at that time.

I rig mine with a flipping hook and a tungsten weight. I mainly just pitch it into cover or weeds.

Got there and the pictures ended up being better then the car in person. I loaded mine back on the trailer and went home. Just the chance you take.

My friend was just working in Miami,Fl. He purchased a casting setup while there. He said the selection was not very big at all. The BPS associate told him that they aren't very popular in Fl.

It's usually a very low amp. I think mine is 2 or 2.5 amps.

The 714 to me is a bit stiff for a 3/8 jig. I just recently got a 714 and it just doesn't load as well as the 723 even with 1/4oz rating. I threw 3/8-1/2oz swim jigs,spinnerbaits,buzzbaits,ect all last year without any issue. I own 2 of these rods just because they're so multi purpose. The powell max 703 I have isn't as powerful as my 723. That's my experience anyhow.

Running on a lake I'd only been on 1 time prior. Only about 4 days earlier I was there. Cruising along towards what looked to be scum on top the water. Well once I was close enought to realize what it was,it was too late. Ran right up into the mud and got stuck. The water had dropped like 4ft from a few days prior. Had to call 911 and have the volunteer fire dept. come out on a pontoon. About an hour later they arrived and I had four fireman in their skimpy's come out to my boat to help push it free while the pontoon was trying to pull it with the rope. Once free I had 4 dudes in their underwear on my boat getting a ride back to the pontoon. No damage was done other then my pride being hurt. I said thanks and continued fishing.

Yup a 723 would be great. Plus it's a very versatile rod.

It all depends on weight of what you're throwing but my votes would be a 723,714 or 764.

The Lews speed spool is very compact and retail is $99 but you can find them cheaper online pretty easily. It'll last you for years and isn't hard to dial in. It's also an aluminum framed reel vs the lazer mg that was mentioned above. Better choice really.
