Another problem I noticed with a few people when tying the Palomar is that once they make the overhand knot,they cinch it down too much. This cause line burn when pulling it tight during the final step. I always pull that loop back open a good bit after I go down around the hook or lure. When cinching it down the line doesn't even have any resistance until the end. Also wet it good but we all already knew that part.

It's already been said 50x. Having nicer things makes it more enjoyable for some. I have a lot more fun driving my 400hp car vs my 150hp truck. Yes they both do the same thing in the end but one is more enjoyable. I take my $20 2pc Shakespeare spinning rod and $30 shimano reel river fishing all the time and catch fish but I would rather fish with my nicer stuff. It can also be a confidence booster for some and there's no better tool in fishing then having confidence in what you're doing. Fish what you like and have fun doing it. Who cares what other people do.

I just wish the mods would sometimes let these things play out. It gives me something to do at work. Seems like someone may of got his feelings hurt for having nice things but not being able to use them.

Maybe the line has some crap in it. I had to run a coat hanger down through mine last season when it lost pressure.

Spent the day fishing Rocky Gap in Western Md. Water temp was at 43-45 and it was pretty windy today. No bass but I did manage a trout on a kvd 1.5 in orange belly craw. Buddy caught three on a really small crank. Kinda looked like a rebel crawfish type lure.

I've sold more off then I currently own because I went by peoples recommendations and was never happy in the end. Awesome rods for a good price. I almost bought it to see what all the talk was about but I stuck with what I know and I'm more then happy with. Plus I got 2 instead of 1.

Well the endurance's have free shipping. They knocked $20 off each of the 2 I ordered a few weeks ago but then I had to pay shipping. Still saved me $20 total. I had 4 Denalis and sold them all but 1. Jadewood 7'6 XH 'heavy and very tip heavy. The guides are huge' Kovert 7'2 H 'was ok feeling but balance wasn't great and fairly tip heavy' Rosewood 7' mh 'was alright but same complaint as the Kovert. Definitely not a $200 rod' Jadewood 7' m/m 'very light and well balanced' The only one I kept and put in rotation.

You don't need expensive gear to catch fish. There are plenty of people on here that catch a lot of fish using a lot cheaper gear then others. You can't buy experience or time on the water. I'll bet there are more then a few people on here that hopped on the Dobyns train and don't do any better then they did before or would get out fished by someone using a $100 rod.

#10-12 big game is what I back all my reels with. A 600 yard spool is like $8 at Walmart.

I'd prefer a mix of higher priced rods and cheaper rods. Weather it be Duckett or whatever you choose. So for this topic lets say a mix of micro magics and ghosts. I don't need a $250 rod for frogs or do I need a $250 rod for buzzbaits,spinnerbaits and swim jigs. So the $99 ghost would be fine for me. For Texas rigs,jigs, and anything bottom contact I'd buy the more expensive rod. To add to this. You can find rods that run $150-200 and fish like $250.

Rage craw or paca chunks are what I use primarily.

It's already been said but I feel this is a 2 rod situation but you can get by with 1. You'll just have to compromise somewhere. I like a shorter 6'9 rod with a mod or mod/fast action for topwater and a longer 7'3 or 7'4 rod with fast or x fast action for frogs and buzzbaits. #65 might be a bit much unless you have some really nasty cover. #50 or even #30 could be fine. If you choose to throw topwater I'd say tie a long leader of mono or copolymer to your braid. As mentioned loosen your drag too.

I've never used the bb1 pro so I'm not sure how well it throws a 1/4oz bait. An example though is. It could be 'good enough' for some but when compared to something designed for light finesse fishing such as a pixy it might not do that well at all when you see a reel designed for that application throwing the same thing. That also goes back to the amount of line statement that was made. Why would someone use a reel that holds 160 yards of line for throwing weightless flukes or trick worms. It's not the right tool for the job for certain people. Different strokes for different folks.

More line equals more weight and a heavier spool overall. Doesn't fair well with lighter lures.

I have owned a total of 10 Lews casting reels. This doesn't include the bb1 pro,super duty, or the team Lews models. Out of all of them the tournament pro was my favorite. It holds an average amount of line and has a fair price tag of $150 online.

I have their bucoo micro 6'10 heavy mod-fast and it's what they label as their 'pitchin stick' It's a med/hvy based on lure specs. Falcon rates their rods high. It's my topwater rod. It's super light and has the right flex for me. I also have a 7' m/mod bucoo micro and I throw 1.5 sizes cranks on it.

Yeah that's what they say. I personally don't notice any of those claims but I also am not a pro fisherman.

The bb1 and bb1 pro both have multi stop instead of instant anti reverse in the low ratio models. There's about an 1/8" of back play in the handle before it grabs. It's said to help with not ripping hooks out. Let's them have it for a split second longer before the hooks set.
