  1. Sandpaper thumb from lipping fish.
  2. Yeah 80 is way to short for my liking. I'm not sure why it would say that. It will fit either side. Lews sells the handle directly and it's pretty cheap. If you order 4 at the same time I think they give you a break too.
  3. No the shimano's are kinda contoured. It's hard to explain. They aren't uncomfortable though at all. 90-95 a little but 80-95 you will notice a lot. All mine are 90 except one hawgtech that is 94. I don't notice it a bunch.
  4. Yeah it was a nice one. It is indeed. It's private so you have to pay unless you have a camp there or are staying with someone who does. Not heavily pressured and it's not all trashed up either. If you go during the week you'll probably be the only one fishing.
  5. Yes they are lightweight. I believe they will be 4 bearing but if not then you can add 2 more. The knobs are a tad smaller and aren't as flat feeling. Lews won't support diawa knobs either. You can use the Eva abu knobs on them and bps knobs.
  6. Took my friend and his boy fishing where I went Thursday and caught a bunch. They both had a blast. Taught the boy how to use a spinning rod and he picked it up quick. So I gave Michael the combo since I don't use it anymore. I had another great day on the water. About 12 fish total. First one was on the 3rd cast and was around 4.5-5lbs. Tx rig rage craw did most of the work again today but I had a few decent spinnerbait fish too.
  7. Other then the instant satisfaction part of buying from a store, online will probably save you money. You avoid taxes and higher mark ups plus from where I mentioned offers free shipping and lifetime warranty.
  8. Thanks fellas. It was definitely one of the best days on the water I've had in about 2yrs. Nothing big but non stop excitement. Made being really cold a lot more tolerable. I need to invest in some cover alls haha
  9. I haven't lost one yet. Very close though a time or two. Took two friends fishing on my boat and one went to cast and hooked the others rod and launched it into the air. Down it went never to be found. I wish I had a go pro for that situation.
  10. Rod sleeves and in the locker piled up. I have reel covers for my more expensive reels but the rest are just in there uncovered. Never had anything break on me. I have more of a chance of breaking one while it's on the deck in my opinion.
  11. I'm not going to get into rod vs rod since I haven't handled a tatula for longer then 5 minutes but you can get the powell endurance for $150 and it's a better rod then the max series. Thefishranger
  12. A guy I know fishes the FLW tour and he said it costs him about 80-90k a year to fish the tour.
  13. Red and yellow are the two colors I can't stand. At least it's not cherry red but still red none the less. Still a sweet real though. I could possibly get over it.
  14. ^^^ same here. I usually pull out my wing span worth of fluoro and use the Alberto knot. Never had it hang up yet. You can trim it super close on both sides. I mean like 1-2mm close. You can add a drop of supper glue for added security to the knot.
  15. I use brake cleaner from the parts store. It sprays with some force and also dries in seconds with no residue. Then spun by hand to make sure there are no rough spots. Add oil and reinstall.
  16. That's the limited version. I hate that's it red though. Worst color to me. This is the regular jdm steez.
  17. Powell endurance 775 for $150 with lifetime warranty.
  18. Me too and I gave it a good workout today.
  19. I have the most success either fishing it over the grass or just ticking the tops of it and ripping it free. The second way is an erratic retrieve like a regular crankbait. 3 quick winds,pause,1 wind,pause,2 winds. Something like that. You get the idea though.
  20. Not sure how you feel about this idea but the older Phenix M1 rods have a small hole in the trigger that can be used as a hook keeper. So you could just drill a small 2-3mm hole if you wanted.
  21. Went fishing with a buddy before work. We fished 9-1 and we both managed about 25 fish each. I was worried because it got pretty cold last night. It was only 35 when we put in this morning. Most fish averaged about 1.5 and we had a handful of 2.5-3lb fish. They were hitting anything I threw. Majority were on a Tx rig rage craw with 1/8oz weight. A good many on a lipless crank. A few on a worm, swim jig and kvd 1.5 I snapped a pic of this chubby girl just bc she was so plump.
  22. It's a great show. I also purchase the extended cast. It keeps me sane over the winter.
  23. It should say on the rod what action it is. I'm pretty sure it'll be a mod/fast action. Today it was my most used rod. I have 2 of the same model and one gets trap duty and the other square bills.
  24. I tow my 19ft glass boat with a 4.3 vortec V6 sonoma. It's a killer on brakes, struggles up hill, and gas mileage is terrible. Not that it's good without a boat either. So it is possible but just be aware of the issues that come along with it.
