Cheap Braided Line?
Normal power pro is $13 at Walmart. Use cheap mono backing and it's enough for 3 reels.

Powell Endurance 694
No 694 but like the others I have a 714. Used for the same things. Also throw a frog here and there with it. I have a max 703 and endurance 723. The max is a good rod but the endurance is a great rod. It's built on a better blank and has better guides. For what they cost new, it's worth the extra $20 for the endurance.

Lost Reel Part
I've done the same thing. I used mine for about a week until the new retainer showed up from Daiwa. I'm going to say you're fine but hopefully one of the resident reel techs can give you a definitive answer.

Looks Like I Won't Be Fishing For Awhile.
This is my friends little man cave in his basement. As you can see the water is almost as high as his computer desk. Thankfully it didn't get his gaming computer but there is an xbox 1 under the water plus a star wars edition xbox 360. Tv is ruined, new furnace, treadmill, expensive vacuum, dehumidifier, carpet, couch. Everything out in the garage is covered in water and sludge. The church that was pictured above was being completely cleaned out today when I went over to his house.

Looks Like I Won't Be Fishing For Awhile.
Yeah it was a moment of chaos. So many friends who live in a certain area all have flooded basements. I don't mean a few inches of water either. It's in the 2ft range.

Looks Like I Won't Be Fishing For Awhile.
So we've been getting a lot of rain over the past few days here in the western Md area. Had multiple tornado warnings. Well today's storm was just a bit too much. This is what happened in a matter of an hour today. It stopped raining for a bit but now it's storming again.

Lews Questions
If these are the two you are set on then pick up the bb1. Good rod choice by the way.

I Have $200 To Spend On A Baitcaster. Need Some Suggestions
It's already been said. This is a very competitive price point. All manufacturers will have a real nice reel at this price range. Now you just have to decide which one feels the best to you and go fishing.

Crazy Day On The Water.
Yes,from what I watched it sure seemed like it. Luckily it was on a shallow flat and I could wade out and help land it. I'm not sure how it would of played out if it was in deeper water.

What Techniques Require A More Sensitive Rod?
You have to ask yourself what techniques you are going to use the rod for. If it's not a bottom contact technique then you can get away with a cheaper rod. Personally I'd buy a 7' mh/xf or f and make it my primary worm and jig rod. Use your *** for something else like moving baits. Chatterbaits, swim jigs, spinnerbaits, traps, or soft swimbaits.

Trailer Hooks On Buzz Bait
Yeah and for me when I do,it's usually my fault anyhow. Too quick on the hookset or they blow up on it right as I'm about to lift it out of the water.

Not sure where you are from but they're abundant in Md.

Powell Rods
It's definitely worth the extra $20. Better blank and guides. You'll feel the difference if you own them both.

Trailer Hooks On Buzz Bait
I never use one on my cavitrons and I don't notice a difference. Occasionally I'll miss a fish but it's like 1/10 really.

Crazy Day On The Water.
I know the technical name but I always just say bluegill, sunfish, or sunnies when talking because people relate to that. I forget I'm on a fishing forum and people know the difference.

Crazy Day On The Water.
Short version. Catch bluegill bring it up for a pic because of it's color and he drops it. I hear a big whoosh and see his line starts going crazy. I take my shoes and socks to wade out in the water. Get fish in and it's a pretty big bass. On a fly rod with tapered tipit. #6 down to #2 and a number 16 or 18 fly. It's no bigger than my pinky nail. Bluegill got away but the bass was barely hooked in the corner of the mouth. Coolest thing to witness.
