I was always taught to use natural colors on bright days and/or clear water. Then darker colors on overcast days and/or stained water. The only variant I've heard is when it comes to lures and hard baits. Spinnerbait,buzzbait,crankbait,ect Then I was told to use brighter colors like fire tiger or chartreuse,things like that. I keep my selection very simple. Bright/clear - green pumpkin or watermelon Dark/dirty - black blue or june bug Then whatever flake combination seems to get bit. Be it watermelon/red green pumpkin/purple Black/blue ect.

Anything 6'6-7' would be fine. My friend fishes Norman and has caught some nice fish out of there.

I use sunline sniper in #16 and don't do anything to it at all. It might get a few sprays of kvd l&l once every few months if I remember to do it but generally I just fish it as is.

I use it for bottom contact baits. It shines on slack line bites and abrasion resistance compared to other lines such as braid and mono. I only have 2 reels spooled with all fluoro but they are my two for plastics and jigs. Knot strength has been a known issue for some people but I really haven't had problems with that. I tie a uni knot and saw no issues with break offs. It's not for everyone. I say give it a try and make you own judgement call. One word of advice is to buy a quality fluoro. Cheaper ones such as red label aren't very good. One that's reasonable and does a good job is the Berkely 100% fluoro. Sunline sniper is another very good one but costs a bit more.

Strike king rage tail craw $5.50 @ a local shop or anywhere online I use a few colors - candy craw,green pumpkin,watermelon/red are my favorites I throw plastics every time I'm on the water. I have a rage craw rigged at all times. Also the rage 7" anaconda worm. I choose color based on sunny or overcast and water clarity. All our water is pretty clear though. Type is picked by the lake. Weeds or open water. Weight is picked by water depth and winds. Or if I want it to fall a bit faster. 3/16 and 1/4 are the two I use the most. Heavier if flipping vegetation or deeper waters. Can't think of any I don't like. They've all worked at one point in time I have 2 dedicated rods for plastics. One with fluoro and one with braid. Same exact rods. Gamakatsu 3/0 skip gap or ewg. Straight shank flipping hook for certain times. Main is 3/0 ewg Swim it,drag it,hop it,buzz it on top,pitch it Rage craw is my favorite go to plastic. You can't fish it wrong in my opinion.

I can't understand all the hype of the steez. I have one that's gotta boca os7 bearings and a rcs 1016 spool. Yes it's super light and it's smooth but it doesn't handle weightless plastics well at all. To throw a weightless senko I have to crank the brakes up pretty high and add a few clicks of tension. I am using fluoro which isn't know to be the most manageable though. My tatula throws a weightless fluke with no troubles.

From the bank I use a backpack for my tackle. I carry probably 8 bags of soft plastics that are stuffed full.

I have the same one. I put it on my plastics.

Or if the Lews reel you bought has holes in the spool you can run it through them and tie it.

Same as everyone else. I use them for what they work best with.

Very nice fish. Why not take measurements and get a replica mount made? Real skin mounts are expensive and now you can't catch it again when it's bigger.

A single blade buzzbait is going to roll to one side naturally due to how the blade is spinning. If it's actually going off to the right though,you can bend the wire a little bit in the opposite direction.

A good quality fluoro is the BEST choice for slack line sensitivity. That's not to say a braid/fluoro combo won't work though. I use #10 pp braid with a #6 sunline fc leader about 4ft long on my spinning rod when fishing a wacky worm or weightless senko. I also use braid/fluoro a good bit on some of my casting rods. You'll get used to detecting bites with more time on the water.

I throw the cavitron quite a bit. Morning/dusk it's black on black Midday white or ghost minnow 'preferred color' Stained water I'll use firetiger but there's not much of that around me. Sometimes after a good rain.

I tear mine down every winter and do a complete cleaning. About 3-4 times a year I'll flush/oil the spool bearings.

I had a zillion that did this to me. I took it apart and cleaned the drag assembly and it was fine after that.

I throw my frogs and other stuff,right up into the pads. Lilly pad stems are freaking tough. Even with #65 braid I'll still bring them in on the line sometimes. Also with frogs and having 2 large wire hooks, the strong braid really helps in driving those hooks home. Plus the long distance hook set factor.

Tungsten is more dense than lead so it transmits vibration better. Also the smaller size is an advantage because it tends to hang up less over a larger lead weight.

Just a heads up but it's nowhere near a heavy power rod. As with all the bucoos they are overrated. Plus it's a mod/fast taper. I use my 2 for traps and square bills.
