^^^ I'm sure they'll both cast 40 yards with the right rod and lure but I have a really hard time believing that the mg can do it with an 1/8oz shakey head. Actually I don't believe will at all. So I'd like to see proof from you Carolina Bassin because you're full of it. I have an upgraded/supertuned steez and I'm gonna say that there's no way it'll cast an 1/8oz shakey head 40 yards.

Let's see video or it never happened. Because honestly it's not possible with that reel. Heck it's not possibly with a lot of higher end reels.

I wasn't directing it towards you. Sorry for the confusion bud. Your gonna have fans of different companies. The only person that will really know which one to choose is you. See which one feels the best in your hand and go fishing. Don't second guess yourself just enjoy it.

I'll have to give that a try. I twitch them pretty quick but just the wait for it to sink gets to me.

^^^ can I ask how much actual experience you have with any of these reels,seeing that you are only 14. Secondly the mg is not that good of a reel to make such a bold statement. To the OP - I'd pick the Daiwa but make sure you are okay with it's size. It's a larger framed reel. Not everyone likes it's size. I own 2 and I'm very impressed with them. Has a real positive feeling when you press the thumb bar and when you engage the spool after the cast. It's super smooth on the retrieve also. It's also a great caster. I was averaging 115ft throwing a 4.8 keitech with a 1/16 weighted gamakatsu 3/0 hook. If you are set on Lews get the tournament speed spool or tournament pro if the budget allows it. Those two are where their reels start to get nice to me. I've owned a total of 10 Lews reels. Those were my favorites out of them all. The $99 speed spool was ok for what it was but the others feel more refined. The TP is a great reel at $150.

Have bags of them and have only caught a few fish using it on a c-rig. It's too slow of a presentation for me to fish weightless. I

It's a denser metal and heavier. A 1/4 lead weight is about 1.5-2x the size of a 1/4 tungsten weight. It also transmits vibration better because it's more dense. So you can feel the bottom better.

RCS has a large version of their knob. It's a bit bigger then the standard RCS style knob. Even has some lines in it for grip.

I can't say I've ever heard of many breaking that aren't from user error and that's still not many. I'm even a known affiliate of #teamantishimano and will tell you it's a nice rod.

I like a longer rod for bottom baits. You pick up more line on the lift and also the hookset. Choose the power based on the weight of you baits. Some companies med/hvy is another's heavy.

Cashion makes a nice rod and so does Shimano. Take your pick. If micro guides aren't your thing then you won't like the Cashion. It has the smallest guides I've seen on a rod. It is super light and the grip is nice.

I carry a backpack while bank fishing so using the Plano box is a waste for me since I only carry 3 total and I don't need 18 spinnerbaits for the day. I do use it to store my baits in though on the boat. I found a little wallet thing that was for a small first aid kit but it's perfect for carrying a few buzzbaits and spinnerbaits while on the bank. Closed I 's only about 4x6x1 and has 2 zippered compartments. Even has a clip to hang it by if I needed to.

I'm all about a good deal but if the difference is only like five dollars, I would much rather buy from a small business than a large retailer. Secondly he is a sponsor on this board. I'd much rather give back to someone who gives back to the fisherman.

I was just basically saying that I've never owned a tip heavy spinning rod but casting I have owned a few. I went through a lot of rods because of this. Buying them based on others input and then not being happy about how they balanced out.

I bought the R for the 8:1 ratio. I own both models and can't tell a difference when fishing them.

Being that it's a spinning rod you shouldn't have much trouble. The Veritas would be ok I think. Spinning reels hang below the rod so they usually balance out well. I've never had a tip heavy spinning combo. Casting is a whole different story.

It bothers me so much because I don't have enough purple on my deck. As for girly. You worry about the fashion side of fishing and I'll continue to catch fish. Yes it's better then the max. In my opinion it's a pretty good jump over the max series.

2 Tatula's both spooled about a 1/16" from the edge. No issues here.

The diesel series uses a very cheap foam. It's kinda slick feeling. I mean it is only a $50 rod. The eva grips on my falcons are a totally different feeling compared to my old Diesel.

Set your drag for the leader being used. So I'd set it at 3lbs which is about a 1/3 of your leader.
