What do you prefer for weightless senkos and why if you'd like to include that also. I use fluoro for it's slack line sensitivity and it's invisibility in clear water.

If you are in a hurry then buy a can of brake cleaner from the parts store. It'll break down anything in there and it also dries with no residue in just a few minutes.

Hawgtech makes a nice handle and they have one to fit about any reel. All handles are not interchangeable. Some can be swapped and some can't. Also some reel brands take different sized bearings in the handle knobs. What reel did you buy? That will give us a better place to start. Hawgtech Zpi Rcs Hedgehog studios They all make parts to customize reels.

I back all my reels with a cheap mono like big game and then put just enough good line on. Usually about 60-70 yards worth of top shot. So I rarely have anything left over. If I do then it becomes leader line.

Fluorocarbon has great slack line sensitivity. Maybe try that route and you might be surprised that you were just not detecting some bites. Any type of 'feel' bait and I'm using fluoro or braid with fluoro leader. Because fluoro has better 'SLACK' line sensitivity then mono 10:1 That's why it's used in any type of feel presentation. There's tons of info out there backing up any of these statements. Here's a thread I started just to show that the majority of people use fluoro or fluoro leader for weightless worms. Take your stick worm/senko and hook it right in the middle on your 3/0 worm hook. It's a wacky rig if you aren't familiar with it.

Yup 1.50 here too. There were about 6 boxes spilling over also 2 full of yum plastics.

Braid - power pro Fluoro - Sunline sniper Mono - I only use it for backing. Yozuri hybrid #12 for mono applications.

I flew to Tx last May and my big luggage bag was 60lbs of just fishing stuff. So I had to shove 10lbs of plastics into my carry on to make weight.

I have a spool of #6 yozuri that I've had for at least 4yrs now. I just re spooled a reel with it a month ago. No issues with it so far.

It's the same for both. Mono and fluoro both stretch. I just use the typical reel up slack and overhead hook set.

I was fishing today with a friend at his property. I made a cast a few seconds after he did. I was throwing a keitech 4.8 with 1/8 swimbait hook using my tatula. He said "did you just cast that far or did your lure come off" Granted he is new to casting gear but I got a chuckle out of it.

Upgrading bearings is more of an enthusiast thing. You really only need to replace/upgrade if you have one go bad. You're going to get people that tell you that it's money well spent but honestly it's not. At least not in my experience. It will aid in pitching but you aren't going to see great gains in casting distance. I do it because I like to tinker with things. Your rod plays a bigger role in casting distance. You want it to load properly with whatever bait you're throwing. You do need the tool to remove the pin to replace them but not to clean them. Put tape around the spool to hold the line down and then put some cleaning solution in a small cup of some sort. Then sit the spool in the cup and let it soak. The cups from cough medicine work really well.

Try using a tube on your c rig. Stuff a piece of packing peanut into it and then Tx rig it like normal. It floats up off the bottom and is weedless incase you are fishing in grass. You learn some cool tips and tricks on here. Great forum. Not my idea but I discovered it on here a while back and have had success with it. I've also used it without the c rig. Use a smaller piece of the peanut so the tube still sinks but just slows it down a good bit.

I started out basically just like you did. Messed around with a friends and then bought one later on down the road. It was right handed since that's what I learned with. I didn't mind switching hands but I thought to myself. Why use my weak arm to hold the rod,work the bait/lure, and set the hook. I've been so used to holding the rod in my right hand and reeling with the left why change it. I purchased a lh casting reel and that's now all I own. To me it's just much more natural feeling.

I've only caught 1 fish in 2014 and that was last Monday. Waters have finally thawed. Falcon bucoo micro 7' med/mod with a daiwa lexa. It was a rainbow trout on a kvd 1.5 in orange belly craw. Hopefully tomorrow I'll hook a few bass when I go out.

I keep a 6'6 med 2pc spinning rod in my truck at all times. Just incase I find water I didn't know about or I wanna go for an hour after work.

Just pick a grease really. Like Mike said. There's no magic in lubes. I use waterproof marine grease just like I use gear lube for the worm gear. It's all stuff I already have around.

I keep mine sorted in Plano 3700 or 3701 boxes by type of bait. Worms,craws,flukes,senko,ect. It's easier to grab exactly what I need verses finding the gallon bag labeled craws and then searching through it to find the smaller bag labeled watermelon or green pumpkin. This for on my boat but If I'm bank fishing then I throw a few of each type of plastic into a 3700 so it's all right in one box when I need it. I don't go as far as what A martens does with the terminal tackle or cranks but here's what I'm talking about.

It doesn't matter the reel brand. It's a worm gear regardless. This has been talked about many times. So in the end you are the deciding factor. Grease will last longer but will collect debris over time. Oil is thinner and will need re applied on a more frequent basis. A good compromise is a heavy weight gear lube such as 140wt. It's thinner than grease but thicker then most oils. This was a tip from DVT who cleans reels for a living and is a site sponsor. He wouldn't steer you wrong. Only downfall is you have to buy a quart of it. I just used some synthetic gear lube that I put in my lower unit since I had it around.

That would be great to get them for $3ea. I'm paying $6-8ea. I also do the same thing you do but just with other 3700 boxes.

I have a ton of them for swim jig trailers. There's a color to match up with about any jig you can find.
