Tackle Box For Weights/split Rings/treble Hooks
Yup shelf liner from Walmart or the dollar store. I have it in the top of both of my terminal tackle 3700 trays. It works very well. I doubled mine up but that's your choice.

Benifits Of Deeper And Wider Spools?
I'm with roadwarrior. You can only cast so far and having 150 yards of line just seems like overkill unless you're long lining cranks or throwing swimbaits. I'd be happy if mine only held 80-90 yards max.

Pair A Rod With My Reel
Daiwa tatula Duckett macro or micro magic or white ice Loomis Gl2 Shimano crucial Rod powers between companies aren't the same, so pick a rod that the specs cover the weight of the jigs you'll be throwing.

What Did You Achieve This Year?
I was also able to get a good friend completely sucked into bass fishing this year. I took him once and he managed a good 3lbr on a closed face combo. I've never seen him so thrilled. From that day on he's done nothing but try to learn as much as he can about fishing. His wife constantly reminds me that's it my fault that he's spending money on gear. I simply remind her at least he's not as bad as I am so she shouldn't be mad lol. He just had a baby boy the other day and I know that he will pass fishing onto his son and that is because of me. It's a good feeling.

Custom Painted Lures, Will Is Really Make A Big Difference?
I like the look of them and own a few but I think more times then not that color isn't the reason for getting bit. Lure placement, cadence, and depth play a bigger role in my opinion. Last year I was wading a shallow flat with two friends. The left side was a rock bank and the water had carved out a little channel over the years making it just a bit deeper. All three of us were throwing a wacky rigged yum dinger in the same exact color. 2 of us were catching 3/4 fish to the others 1. Me being closest to the rip rap bank and Colten in the middle had more bites then his brother having to throw into open water.

Stock Vs Clean Reel Video
Yeah I've done that before but investing $35 in the hedgehog studios spool pin tool is one of the best purchases I've made. It makes life a lot easier if you are doing this to multiple reels a few times a year.

Dumb Line Question.
That's not always possible. Sometimes you're using a leader in excess of 4ft.

Tried My Hand At Making A Jig Today.
Honestly rockchalk is right. I thank you for considering them nice enough to purchase though. What I'd have to charge you to cover his materials and shipping them it'd be cheaper to just buy them from someone who mass produces heads and skirts. Seibert makes a great jig so there's no need to worry.

What Did You Achieve This Year?
My goal every year is to catch a bigger fish 'Pb' then the prior year. This year I was able to do it twice. I was also able to visit a friend in Tx and fish Sam Rayburn for a week. We've only talked about it for 5yrs now. Finally it happened. I also fish a new technique every year. This year was the drop shot and my Pb came on that too. Next season it'll be the shakey head.

Second Baitcast Setup
When it comes to my fishing stuff I don't think about the money. I enjoy fishing but it makes it more enjoyable to me to do it with quality gear. As far as combos go. I'm working on 10 and I use them all when I'm on my boat. I'll also sell a few and buy a few more over next season. When I'm fishing the bank I have 3 with me. How much you want to spend is up to you though and also how many you want to own.

Second Baitcast Setup
Just remember that the rod and line are more important then the reel as far as 'feel' goes or sensitivity as we call it. You should be able to get a decent rod for 80-100 and a decent reel for 60-90. Brands are your choice really.

- The Best Steak I Ever Had
There's a place in Orlando called Phillips steak house. So far the best steak I've eaten.- Painting Crank Baits
Yeah it'd almost be a shame to bang them up.- Sell Me On A Shimano Reel
What! Sell you on it. Don't you know it's the greatest reel ever made. It's assembled in japan by Budah himself. On a serious note though. They've been around for a long time and have a huge fan base. They've proven themselves as a quality reel but I do a also feel there's a bit too much hype around some of their offerings. That's my .02- Knicked Spool + Maintenance Q
That's your anti reverse bearing and if you use to much grease it won't work properly. I generally leave that one alone as far as soaking it in degreaser goes. I'll put a little oil on a q-tip and run it around the inside of the roller bearing. I mean just a little though.- I Sense A Disturbance In The Force…
Yeah I just wanted to get a general idea on what I might be looking at. I'll be tearing it down myself too. It looks good. Coming from an automotive background I can say black is the hardest color to paint. Prep work is key to a good finish with black.- I Sense A Disturbance In The Force…
If you don't mind me asking what did he charge to paint the reel? I just sent him an email early tonight asking about it. Also did you tear it down before you shipped it to him or ? I bought those same knobs for my HT handle. I like them better then the cork knobs.- Tried My Hand At Making A Jig Today.
Thank you sir. It's the same as above but for some reason that pic doesn't show the green very well. I'm happy with my first attempt. I'm sure I'll catch some fish on it. I think next time I'll only use 3 strands of blue and orange and it'll be a lighter blue. I forgot the skirt doubles over so there's more of those colors then I had envisioned. I pulled some strands out and I think it looks better. I also wanna add a different type of green to it.- Reel Line Rating?
I normally run 50# power pro but I've even used 65# power pro on med/hvy rods. The braid isn't going to damage your rod. Boat flipping fish or dropping it against the gunwale will over time. It's all about setting your drag properly and that's with any line you use.- Painting Crank Baits
Trey Harpel of Threeltuning does custom paint along with servicing and upgrading reels. His airbrush/paint work is top notch. - The Best Steak I Ever Had
