  1. I didn't build this but it works great as a rod rack. It's from the local golf course out of the pro shop. It's used to display a set of irons originally. It'll hold 6 combos or 12 rods.
  2. My Denali order was here when I got home from work today. Can't wait to try these in the spring.
  3. That's what the worm is designed for. Thus why the egg sack is directly in the middle of it. They also sell a tungsten jig head to use with it.
  4. Well there's micro guides and then there's Cashion micro guides. Those things are freaking tiny. I wanna say they are all #2 size guides. I have the 6'9 all purpose rod and I use it for spinnerbaits. I really like it though.
  5. The sale ended a week ago. It's already been mentioned in here.
  6. T rig is a 723 endurance with a steez #12 fluoro Jigs is a 723 endurance with a zillion #50 pp
  7. I use others input on here and also do as much internet research as possible. Being from a small town and the closest BPS or Cabelas is 2hrs away I have to take a leap of faith in the end. So far it's worked out for me and I've found a company that has a rod for anything I want. I'm still open though.
  8. Wow Sherman you are a class act! SF should of won but what can you do. Payton will take the hawks to school.
  9. I'm in the same situation as yourself. I'm trying to narrow it down to about 6-7 combos. I keep switching reels on different rods ect. I have one 7'7 mh/m cranking rod that goes up to 1oz. I don't throw dd cranks often so I'll make it work. Like Dyer just said, overthinking isn't good. Use what you have and IF you find that you need another combo then add it to the arsenal.
  10. That's what I'm getting at though. How do we know if someone doesn't tear into one. It could be 99% identical to say a revo and we have no idea because we are stuck on brand names. Example the academy h20 mettle. Apparently it's quite the reel for $50 or whatever the price is. It could be that reel in a different color or just have different grips on it.
  11. This is exactly what makes me wanna try one of those $30 china made baitcasters you see all over eBay. I'm willing to bet it's darn near the same inside and might perform just as well. If it doesn't then I'm not out anything really.
  12. honestly that's not going to do much for you other then wiping off the brake race and the one spool bearing IF you even take it out. Basically what I'm getting at is,it's pointless.
  13. From what I've been told it just bridges the gap between those 2 series of rods. I don't think it'll be any better or worse then the other two. Personally I would of rather seen a rod in between the Kovert and Rosewood.
  14. I'll back the support part. I had a bearing that would catch when spun slowly and roll backwards when it hit that spot. Called and a received a replacement free of charge. I have a set for my tatula in the mail now.
  15. Xbox 360 lets you watch YouTube videos on your tv or hdmi from laptop.
  16. I wouldn't waste good fluorocarbon as backing. Use a cheap mono. The quality of backing doesn't affect your casting. You can use tape but you will use more braid then needed BUT you can also flip it next season and have brand new braid again. Either way will be fine.
  17. Received my type R today. Already tore it down and put bearings on the worm gear. Plus a good clean and lube. Can't wait to fish it.
  18. Called my local DSG which is an hour away. They have 2 left but I asked about the sale and he said that ended last Saturday. So they're at the regular price again.
  19. Backing is just used to take up some space on the spool so you don't have to use as much braid to fil the spool. Also to give it something to grip to so it doesn't spin on the spool. Either 8 or 12 will be fine in your situation. For your second question. No you'll be fine as long as you tie a good knot. In my testing with braid and leader knots. My knot will break at the hook before the leader knot. I use a modified Albright to make leader connections.
  20. I rig mine like this... tungsten bullet sinker, glass bead, metal clacker disc, carolina keeper, and then your hook of choice.
  21. With the norm of today being low profile baitcasters it is kinda big in comparison. Side by side with my Steez it's big. I was fishing 10yrs ago but it was with spinning gear so I have no experience with the older reels. Like I said it wasn't uncomfortable but it's a larger framed reel then most on the bass fishing market today.
  22. One question. Why with so many proven $100 rods out there, would you wanna get something else?
  23. I've used Alley's for a while now. Never had any issues with the product.
  24. Same thing when you put a bearing in there too. I can spin the spool and the bearing doesn't move. Since there's a sideplate bearing and one on the spool shaft I'm not sure it'd even help much if it did make good contact with the bearing.
