  1. At $50 a rod you can fish them and still sell them for $100 each shipped if you don't like them. You'd make about $25 off each one at that price. It's a way better rod then the Veritas so you'll probably end up keeping them.
  2. I went fishing today and a buddy has a tatula combo. I was able to use it for a bit. It's a really nice setup. Balance point is about where the hook keeper is on a 7' mh with regular tatula reel. He had a bomber flat a on it. I don't know what they weigh but I was able to toss it pretty good. The reel is kinda big but it didn't find it uncomfortable to palm at all and I have smaller hands. Honestly couldn't tell a difference between it and my zillion. I only managed to snag a few trees so I can't speak on what it feels like with a fish on it. It is however a very smooth feeling reel. Mine will be here Wednesday and I already have 4 bearings coming to do the worm gear and knobs.
  3. You can buy that bearing for about $3 and add it. Honestly the improvement is slight. It's a 3x8x4 if you'd wanna add one to it.
  4. Not saying you were just adding to the thread. I've seen 2 in the last month on eBay for dirt cheap. The 100 isn't as finicky as the 103. 1016 spool plus bearings and now it's just a joy to fish.
  5. My steez with boca orange seals has the brakes on 4 now but all stock was on 2. I also did a spool swap at the same time so that could play a part too. Pitching is effortless and so is casting but the distance is the same. Just easier to get the same result. I might of gained 10-15ft if I cast with the same power as before.
  6. Exactly! Free spool means zip zero nada unless you're a pro with your thumb and use no brakes or tension. Usually with better bearings you end up using more brakes and tension if you can't harness the power so to speak. Op you see that typically you get the same distance with less effort. So you gain some distance using more effort but as mentioned it can cause problems.
  7. Best for 2013 was a 6.5 on a drop shot. I hope to better that in 2014 but in my area it'll be tough. I've seen one 8lb fish from around here.
  8. He was fizzing the fish haha
  9. It takes skill for sure but there is a bit of luck involved also. There's no way around that part.
  10. Yeah it's super cold here. I use this time to trade/sell/buy and get new things for next April.
  11. Yeah double duty frog/pitching combo
  12. I've had my eye on them for a while now. Since I just traded for a tatula r 8:1:1 looks like the 7'4 H will be my next rod purchase before spring. The review was exactly what I was hoping to hear about these rods.
  13. Look at Ike for example fishing the Veritas rods. He flat out catches fish but we know there are a lot better rods out there. He gets paid to fish the Veritas so that's what he does.
  14. 7'7 m/m for stuff up to around 12ft 7'10 mh/m for anything deeper
  15. That's 75% of 15lb test so it's about right.
  16. Just like Bluebasser said. I feel that the average fisherman doesn't replace trebles. Someone who's worried about the quality of hooked used probably purchases a better quality bait.
  17. Action and power have no set standards in the fishing industry. Don't read into so much.
  18. Take it and have the guide replaced. Should be around $10-20.
  19. Thanks for the kind words. Especially coming from you.
  20. I don't throw many actual senkos. Stick baits would of been a better choice of word. A lot of great info in here. I'm just wanting to try new styles of worms other then senkos for T rigs. Thanks to anyone that's given suggestions.
  21. Sounds like you're a fluorocarbon salesman or something? It's also been proven time and time again that fluoro stretches equally and in some cases more then mono does. It's advantages are abrasion resistance and less visibility. OP Sunline sniper is a great fc line and has a good price tag also.
  22. Strike King gizzard shad and bluegill get bit for me.
  23. I fished #2 from last years list. That place is huge,114,000 acres. Went in mid May. Caught a good many fish but nothing big. Should of went with a guide for 1 day.
  24. Can't speak on their mono but if it's anything like their fluorocarbons you have no need to worry.
  25. I'm an Eagles fan but had it not been for the interception I think they would of made it into field goal range and won by 1pt. Glad they didn't though.
