I was looking at them earlier. $38 is a bit more then I'm looking to spend in the beginning for 1 lure.

What size do you prefer. The 125 or 95? I plan to try some of these smaller swimbaits this spring, so I'm trying to make a list of a few to purchase. Right now I plan to get the spro bbz-1 4" in killer gill and perch. Also the sebile either 95 or 125 in natural shad and bluegill. Might give the jackall giron a shot too. Also plan on trying mattlures and live target ones too.

Yup bobber stops for me for up to 1/2oz and punch stops for anything heavier.

I went to Tx in May to visit a friend. I hit him in the back of the head with a 2.5 on a fully loaded cast. Buried 2/3 trebles in his head through his buff. 1 went through past the barb and the other I had to pop through. Ruined 2 pairs of pliers trying to cut them. Finally the 3rd pair from the tool kit worked. It hit so hard it broke the bill in 1/2 and cut his head a bit. I got hooked behind the ear on that hard patch of skull. Luckily it wasn't in too deep.

Well seeing as I only have 1 spinning rod since I can't stand finesse fishing it would be my 7' med okuma evx 1/4-5/8 lure rating.

I'm terrible for this. I'd say I'm set at 1/2 the line rating which is usually #12. I know that if it's a dink or bigger fish it doesn't ever pull any drag. I pretty much horse every fish out of the water. Never broke off though. Lucky I guess.

The center bore should be exactly the same as far as splines and stuff goes. So your old washer will be fine. This is my experience anyhow.

Luckily my last Pb and newest Pb were landed. I've lost some good fish but none bigger then those 2 so I'm not extremely upset about it.

I too was excited about the fall bite but I've yet to find it. I've managed a few small ones on a 1.5 reeling very slow. Only other fish I found is where this culvert runs under the road to the other side of a smaller body of water. Just dropping a jig or wacky worm straight down. It feels like cheating though really. I did manage a 4lb out of there but nothing else really. I throw everything in my bag too.

You have it down it seems but you just haven't slowed down enought yet. I mean it's painful how slow you have to go sometimes. Reeling slower for certain baits. I was using a 1.5 square bill today and it took about 4-5 seconds to make 1 handle turn. Only way I could get bit. In cold water a 30 second pause after twitch on a jerkbait isn't un common. 1 minute on the jig is a little fast. I don't know what your water temps are but here in Western Md they're about 45. Sometimes it takes me 5 minutes to reel it in.

Smoking cigarettes,drinking and weed. I'm not going to say she was cool with it but she knew I did it and I didn't get in any type of trouble. She was a rebel child and knew if she told me no that I'd just wanna do it that much more. Especially with no father around and having that teenage angst. She gave me "the talk" and that was the end of it. The convo was finished with if I ever got arrested that I shouldn't bother calling her. I went through the phase and then I was done with it.

I recently was thinking of having a pet bass. There's a bunch if videos on YouTube. It seems like a fun idea. There's not a lot of info online about it for the details. From what I've read so far. Once a month you'll need to drain 1/2 the water and clean the stuff out from under the gravel that's settled on the bottom. Also keep your ph level in check. I believe 6.5-7 is what I read. Also maintaining the temperature of the tank. For food I've seen goldfish,worms,pellets,minnows. For a 1lb fish 5-10 goldfish a day. For tank size it seems 150g is about the smallest you should use and that good for a small bass. I might try a few sunfish/pumpkinseeds first to see how it goes. If it fails then I won't feel terrible about it haha

I love Lews reels. I had 10 of them at 1 point. The tmg is ok. Me personally I wasn't happy with it. If you paid retail then you got robbed because you could of gotten a tournament pro online for that price. Which is a way better reel. Not trying to sound like an a** but it's just the simple truth.

Yeah if it's too light it won't load up the rod enough to get optimum distance.

No problem, glad to of helped out. A med/hvy in the 7-7'2 range is going to be your best "all around" rod. You can cover all the basic techniques you'll need. As for reels a 6:3:1-6:4:1 ratio will work well also.

To the OP like people have all ready said a lot of it is marketing hype but not all of it either. You tell someone the rod is designed for senkos and they think they need that rod for soft plastics. The other thing that has been mentioned is you basically need 3-4 types of rods but then you can have multiples of a rod with the same specs. I think that might be kind of what you're asking too. Here is what my basic rods serve a purpose for when I'm fishing. I have a heavy rod for frogs and heavier jigs or punching heavy cover. I use it for heavier C-rigs too. Here you will see many in different lengths. I have a med/hvy and that works for jigs up to 1/2oz and any weighted soft plastics or a lighter C-rig. I also throw spinnerbaits and buzzbaits with it. I have a med/mod for treble hook lures. Sometimes I use a med/hvy though for square bills. Finally I have a med spinning rod. shakey head,drop shot,1/8oz tubes or weightless soft plastics. With that being said though I then own more then one of each of these rods. This allows me to have multiple things rigged up. A frog on my 7'3 heavy rod and then a 3/4oz Carolina rig on my other 7'6 heavy rod. That also doubles for flipping heavy cover. I'll get another one in the 7'6-8' heavy range for throwing a 1oz + tungsten weight with 5/0 flipping hook so I don't have to take my c-rig off when I come to some good cover. Hopefully this might help clear a few things up for you.

To me it seems like some people are missing his point a bit. He's saying why would a Cumara rod that has the specs of 6'10 med/hvy/fast be marketed as a spinnerbait rod but then you have a Cumara 6'8 med/hvy/fast marketed as a worm and jig rod. They both have the same max line rating,amount of guides, and handle length. Only difference being lure rating on the worm/jig rod is 1/4-3/4 verses 3/8-1/2 on the spinnerbait rod. So he's saying why can't you toss a 3/8 jig on both rods since they are made on the same blank. Only difference being 2" in length. This is what I've gathered from his post anyhow. Not why can't you use a 7' med to throw a frog with.

My Steez and TD-Z 100 models. Both have upgraded bearings and different spools.

Now this is compared to the regular bb1xxx model not the pro.It's a lighter reel. Better quality parts. The dual braking is nice. Once you get the centrifugal dialed in all you have to do is add a little magnetic if the wind picks up or if there's a decent weight difference in lures. It's also a little smaller in frame so it's easier to palm for smaller hands. As for the pro it seems to be of the same build quality just has a larger spool.

Regardless of the bait they'll attack it the same way though. We don't eat food any differently just because it's a steak or a hotdog.

Just watch a video of a bass feeding in a tank. They flare their gills and suck in water along with the bait.

^^^ makes sense. Went back today. Caught 2 on the jig within maybe 20 minutes and 1 on a kvd 1.5 not long after. Then 2hrs with not even a nibble.
