  1. Yeah I understand. It was just a question. Like I said optimally I want to do a 24v 70# system. Which is what I went with. Picked up a virtually new minnkota powerdrive v2 for $250 just had to take a road trip 3hrs away. It was used once.
  2. My steez/endurance 723 combo is like nothing to fish all day with. I'm spoiled now for sure.
  3. When I shipped my rods to Tx I bought a 4" piece of thin wall PVC 8ft long from Lowes with heavy duty end caps. It ran me about $16. I was able to put 7 rods in it with no trouble.
  4. I can handle it. Just take my word for it.
  5. Yeah that was an idea I had too. Cut a bit off the shaft.
  6. I found a good deal on a 24v #70 minnkota Would a 60" shaft be too long?
  7. Yeah I didn't figure but since there's only a few months left to use it and I'll be about broke after the purchase I was just curious. It would at least get me around for now.
  8. I'm looking at buying a 19ft glass bass boat. It has a evinrude 150 on it. I'll need to purchase a TM and batteries for it. Optimally I'd love to do a 70-80# 24v system. My question is could I get by with a 12v and 2 batteries in parellel?
  9. I'll stick with my Steez. It'd be nice to have a sweet megabass rod for it though.
  10. Deep Creek is close to me. I fish it a good bit. It's typically decent fishing. Lately it's been slow due to the weather. The back coves and stuff are good to fish but most have personal docks so you might get a decent amount of wake from time to time. I can say if you launch at the main ramp you're probably screwed on a kayak. I know I wouldn't wanna fish it in one. Find a place to launch that's already in the backwaters and you'll be fine.
  11. Catch and release only for me.
  12. I upgraded my steez and zillion to boca os bearings. Slightly more distance and a bit more noise. As mentioned for lighter baits it did help a lot though. I also upgraded the spools in both reels right after. That was the best upgrade of the two. I think having a trained thumb is the biggest help. Without that you'll need more brakes and negate the bearing upgrade. Just my .02
  13. Thanks everyone. Yes it lived and went right back in the water after a quick weigh and picture.
  14. Haha that's trimmed down. I cut about 6.5" off. I let it go for a year straight with no trimming. This is about 8 months worth of growth.
  15. Yeah I'm happy. I've been fishing my area for a long time and 8lbs is the biggest I've heard of around here and seen pics of. I'm getting close with this one. That's my next goal is 7-8lbs
  16. Same here man. I managed a 5.14 for my Pb until today. When it jumped I thought welp there it goes.
  17. 6.5 on a ds rig. Jackall flick shake wacky rigged. Managed a 3.3 on a black cavitron too.
  18. 6.5 on a drop shot and a 3.3 on a black cavitron
  19. $18 is not very much. Try shipping a rod yourself. $25-35 is what it'll cost you depending how far it's gotta go. Plus buying a tube unless you have one. It's $68 shipped. TW is $69.99 before shipping.
  20. It was a pike so I wouldn't of cared at all. Look at it as you were giving something a free meal if that helps you feel better.
  21. Palomar for fluoro and braid no matter what I'm tying to the end. Hook, buzzbait, crank, trap, ect
  22. I own 3 723's and just sold a max 703 plus I have a few diesel models. It's a great rod. I have one still in the wrapper if you're interested in it.
  23. Had 6 of them. Enjoyed every one of them. I've recently sold them all and bought a jdm td-z and a steez. I like the customization part of Daiwas.
  24. I don't feel the 1016 spool gained me any distance but it's smoother to throw and calmed the reel down. Didn't have to be as on it with your thumb when setting the brakes low '2 for me' I'm assuming this is because it's lighter but idk 100% The bearings gave added distance. Now if it's just because of the lighter spool idk that either. I also have #50 power pro on the 1016 and #14 Sunline sniper FC on the stock spool. One day when I'm bored I'll compare them and take actual distance measurements using the same line on each.
  25. Bearings came today. Put them in and made a few casts in the yard. It woke the reel up. Gained about 5-8yrds casting a senko with 3/16th weight. I'm interested in putting the stock spool back in to see which upgrade was the best bang for my buck.
