  1. The extended cast 1st episode is up for free for anyone interested.
  2. Sold the car that I built in 3yrs to buy a boat and a truck. So now it's gone I have more time to fish. I still throw darts a good bit and play in tournaments but they are only every couple of months. Practice is usually after work and not on my days off during fishing season. Typically at home but I'll go to the club to play online since it's more fun and challenging. That's about all I do.
  3. I caught all 3 of my fish today on a green gizzard kvd 1.5 All 3 within 5 minutes but that was it for the day at either place I went. Square bills are a shallow diving bait but you can use them anywhere. I used a stop and go retrieve but it just depends on what the fish want that day honestly.
  4. 1pk baby brush hog in watermelon slice 1pk baby brush hog in watermelon red 20 tubes in assorted colors Tubes weights from 1/8-1/4 Shimano sienna 2500 Stren #6 mono Okuma EVx 7' m
  5. Probably way over lubed from the factory. I know my speed spool was that way. I took it apart and cleaned the bearings and it was better. I like Lews but I sold my speed spool and bought a tourney pro and haven't looked back. Tournament - bb1 - and tournament pro are where it's at. I can't speak for the super duty - or either team lews since I'm a lefty. As much as I like Lews I can say I really didn't care for the regular speed spool.
  6. 1/2oz jig with trailer I use 2 white. I'll have to try just 2 blue. I just set it like my TP's since I am used to how they work. I've never used them other then that few times with a wacky worm but I also had 2 whites on. Hell I might be surprised to find out I can get better distance with just 2 blue. Since I'm not whipping them real hard and trying to educate my thumb more. Now I have something to do in my yard in the next few days.
  7. Maybe typical was the wrong word choice but like you said they are showing up more and more these days so that's why I used it. Yes shimano's 6 pin brakes are like 2 blue ones on the new bb1's. I don't use the blue ones because the others taper off as the spool slows so it gives me a little more distance. How much I can't say because I've never done any actual testing but it's enough to see with my eyes when I first played around with it. Like mentioned I have used them with lighter lures but not a lot. I do like how they work though.
  8. The blue pins provide braking throughout the whole cast and the white pins are your typical spring loaded brakes. On my bb1's I set 2 white the majority of the time but there have been a few times while throwing weightless wacky worms I'll set 2 blue pins on also. I've only fished it a few times that way so I can't say any more then that. I don't see why you couldn't set 2 white and 1 blue.
  9. I had a friend tossing a small crankbait and he caught me right behind the ear kinda where your hairline is. I thought it was going to be a hospital trip but luckily it wasn't. I was scared for a sec though.
  10. I'll update this since the first post. Both racks arrived in just a few days. Seem to be made very well for what they are. I mounted both and put 6 rods in each rack. Held the weight just fine and the racks were secure.
  11. Aside from being built in the same factory the guy who bought the Lews name used to work for Bass Pro as a designer if I recall correctly. This is the number one reason bps doesn't carry Lews.
  12. Today I bought a truck so I can haul the boat I bought last year.
  13. Yeah man no problem. Glad you were able to find something for your dad.
  14. Watch what you say he'll give you a warming point for speaking your mind. Even if it's warranted. It's sometimes feels like it's the 3rd reich all over again lol.
  15. It's called the rodsman. I stumbled on it doing a google search for truck fishing rod racks. 39.99 for 1 2pc set. I plan on ordering 2 of them. www.rodsman.com
  16. I just purchased a sonoma zr2 but it only has a 6ft bed and I was liking this setup for transporting my equipment. If you have or have had please tell me the pros and cons. Thanks BR members.
  17. As long as you're talking about the tournament speed spool and not the tournament mg then yes it's a good reel. I own quite a bunch of Lews reels and all are lh models. I prefer the Tp due to it's weight but on certain rods an extremely light reel doesn't balance out well. So the extra weight can help in some cases. On my Powell Diesel 7'2 I prefer the tournament because it feels better but on my Kistler 7'2 micro I like the Tp. It's such a light combo. The BB1 is also another great reel to look at if you're interested in Lews stuff
  18. This sale is on either Powell model and carries an over the counter no questions asked warranty. Usually it's $60 for a replacement rod. I'm assuming all you have to do is pay to ship it back. $122.94 shipped is such as good price. I'll be ordering one here soon myself.
  19. He didn't exactly say but I'm sure it's at least a few weeks. End of April maybe.
  20. Yes they sure are. I've ordered a lot through them. It's funny though they are a country food store with a small fishing section. Expanded it to the net for more business. Trey is a great guy.
  21. Jones country food mart is the fish ranger.
  22. Here comes the Shimano guy haha. I'm just messing with you. What about all the people who say the curado can't hold it's own with the Lews TP? See it's a never ending vicious cycle. I've fished a Curado but I don't remember what model but it didn't compare IMO.
