Personally I prefer the look of micro guides over standard. The increased distance was minimal if any at all. They are lighter but once again not by anything substancial. For me it did help cut down on some backlashes due to decreased line slap through the guides. They also don't get banged around as much going in and out of the rod locker.

I have a Cashion. I can't compare it with a Duckett for you since I've never fished one but I would buy another Cashion.

Cast right - reel left 90% of the time. I can cast left when needed. Like everyone said learning like that with spinning gear it just feels right to me. Also as someone mention with dominant hand. Why wouldn't you want the hand you're used to using for everything working the bait. To me it makes sense. It however cuts down on some reel choices I make. No team Lews in LH

Great jig heads. Over the past 2 wks I've ordered 120 heads from Siebert Outdoors and only 2/120 did I have a problem with. Prices are great and shipping is fairly quick too.

Yeah I've read that. Some people said it wasn't a problem as carry on and others said they had to check them. I'll probably just pack it all in my main bag and pray it doesn't get lost in transit.

I wouldn't say there's any advantage. As nice feature to some is the deeper V spool. It's just almost as good as the TP for $27 cheaper and yes it's a smooth caster for sure. If little things don't matter to you such as 1/2oz heaver,no mag brakes, and metal handle. Then I'd say you won't be disappointed when you get one.

The bb1 can be had at $129 shipped all day long. Just get on ebay. The speed spool for $80. I owned a speed spool and sold it a few days later. It was ok but not as nice as my bb1 and definetly nowhere near as nice as my tournament pro's. which can be bought at $155 shipped. The regular tournament can be had for $120. I currently own 2 tournament pros,2 tournaments,1 bb1***,1 tournament mg and that's just because it was my only choice. It'll be sold and replaced with a bb1. I'd buy 6 of the tournament models if they all had to match but personally I'd get a few of each. I can give you the sellers name I go through. If you let them know you're buying 5-6 then you may even get a better deal. Also why not mix it up? Get a tournament pro or 2,a bb1,a regular tournament or 2.

Hello everyone. I'm coming to Tx in the middle of May to fish Sam Rayburn for a week. I was wondering if you can direct me to or give me some info on some decent spots to fish. I'm not asking for your secret hole or anything like that just trying to make sure I'm going to have a good time while I'm there. Which obviously I will cause I'll be on a boat in Tx fishing but it's always better if you're catching them. Also what are some promising baits to bring with me? I can only fit so much in a carry on bag so I gotta pick wisely. It'd also be cool to meet some forum members that are on here and fishing with them if anyone would be interested in that. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I highly suggest you try out the new BB1 models. You'll love them.

I never use the mag brakes on my TP's so it doesn't effect me but I guess that could play a part for some. I set 1 centrifugal brake on and call it a day. I'll set 2 on if I'm throwing a lighter bait or the wind picks up. Owning 2 TP's and a BB1 plus 2 tournaments and a tournament mg. let me say I'll definitely have another BB1 before this spring!

I have it in 5:4:1 for a cranking reel. It was my only Lews option at the time since I'm a lefty but if I had it to do over now I'd get the BB1. I received a BB1*** for xmas in 6:4:1 and it's just a better reel all together. I'd put it right up there with my tournament pro's just a hair under it. You can get the new BB1 models all day for $129 shipped on ebay.

Regular jigs are a bottom contact bait. Cast it out let it sink 'if it makes it that far' give it a little twitch or hop. Move it a bit and repeat. Or you pitch/flip into cover. Swim jigs are the opposite. Just cast it out and reel it back in or you can do a yo retreive or stop and go. Experiment with it. As for trailers the netbait paca chunk is a good. Experiment with those too. Single tail grub,twin tail grub,small swimbait,senko ect ect. They're used for catching fish. Fish them in open water or in/around grass.

Never used a carbon steel but I own 2 of the magnesium micro rods . 7' med composite and a 7'3 mh Picked them up on clearance from their site last year for $99ea. I like them a lot.

I purchased the 6'10 spinning from TW then found them somewhere else a good bit cheaper so I ordered a second spinning rod from them. Haven't been able to fish them yet but so far I like what I see. Enough that I ordered the 7'6 casting rod on Friday for a second flipping setup. For under $60 shipped it's going to be a tough rod to beat. I wish the lineup was larger but then again I'm glad it's not because then I'd end with a bunch of them.

I've never seen that style before but I like it a lot. I mainly use the spinner baits that have majority of the weight hidden under the skirt like that so it has a 1/4oz head profile but still weighs 1/2oz.

They're just the boss banded skirts ordered from fishingskirts.com. I do have some pro tie and hole in 1 skirts ordered from another place. Fishing skirts doesn't have anything in light colors unfortunately.
