I have the all purpose 6'10 mh/f and it doesn't feel any stiffer then my Kistler micro mag.

I own 1 Cashion. I've had it for a year and it quickly became my favorite rod. It's never had any guide issues with it. I ordered mine through Cashion because I wanted a different reel seat then what the off the shelf models use. I spoke with Matt directly while ordering and he's a super nice guy.

Both are on Mhx blanks. Fuji reel seat,batson grips, and Alps micro guides. I paid around $150 plus shipping. Mhx blanks are very introductory level but get great reviews and that's how I made my choice. They also have a high modulus blank.

Do a google search. There are builders all over the us. Some use blanks from the same companies and some don't. I had Ryan Cook who owns Cooks of Oregon build my 2 customs. Why on earth spend $650 on a reel though? That's insane to me.

Yeah he was very nice and answered all I wanted to know. Even explained some things I never even thought about. He thanked me multiple times for even considering buying a Powell. Overall a great experience. Yes I agree with the small company buying. I don't own a single shimano. There's enough fan boys for them out there.

Typically a crankbait rod is a med or mh with a moderate to mod/fast action. 7' is usually the shortest you'll see. Most use something a lot longer. 7'6 7'8 7'10 ect Most use a low ratio reel as well 5:4:1 5:2:1 ect. Most mh rods with a fast action are good for all around use. This is now getting into your original question. How many do you need. My first casting setup was a 7' MH/F rod with a 6:4:1 reel and I threw everything on it. I caught fish on all the lures I threw. If I'm bank fishing I take 1 casting and 1 spinning setup. My Cashion 6'10 MH/F with 6:4:1 and 7' M/F spinning rod
