I had the issue with moving the brake dial on my tatulas also. Not all the time but enough. I hold the entire reel in my hand most of the time though.

I had a fury 705cb and quickly sold it. That sucker was too moderate for me. I had a champ 703 and I liked it a lot. It worked great for topwater and squarebills.

Good lighting and angles are the key to good photos. Unless I'm trying to sell something I don't put too much effort into it anymore.

Haha yeah that's me. I grabbed another SV103 today and some hedgehog parts for a steal. We worked out a deal so he could keep the handle and drag star since I have that stuff extra. *owners picture

You can grab a used xx for $180-230 depending on the model and if you're at the right place at the right time so to speak. The levante rods can be tip heavy and the blank is said to feel a bit dead.

The 16 destroyer was a let down to me. Larger guides than the xx series and the blank seemed to be lacking a bit.

The trigger is very short and how I grip the rod it dug into my ring finger bad.

I was looking forward to them but not so much any more. They use the same reel seat as the 16 destroyer series. For me that means I can't buy one. I had a 16 destroyer and returned it after 1 day. The trigger on the reel seat was very uncomfortable to me. I made a post when the spy shots were first released a couple months ago if the xxx. The aesthetics of it are awesome and the lower price isn't too concerning. The levante was a bust though so hopefully the xxx isn't as bad. Also the majority of the lineup is on the short side. I wanted a 7ft + jig rod.

I checked Plat and they don't offer the ito 103L ai sideplate. They have everything else but that. Looks like painted sol sideplates are what you have to work with.

Nah, it's a very hard to find Japan only hook keeper. Good luck with that search. Just kidding! It's a cable tie, or zip tie as most of us refer to them. Easy to find.

You will get your money's worth out of a tatula. It's a solid reel at a very affordable price. Take care of it and you'll have it for years to come. Plus Daiwa has great customer service if you would ever have a problem with it. Ask to talk to Thelma.

As the spool turns on cast the resistance on the inductor begins creating a torque between inductor and the rest the spool. 3. This torque turns the cam pushing the inductor, increases braking and further pushing the inductor out. 4. As RPM lower as do torque, braking force and extension of the inductor until it reaches back to resting point. It takes somewhere between 1/8 to 1/16 of a turn from rest to full extension of the inductor. What this inductor does is provide max brakes at the middle of the cast, since it works on the turning momentum it is less reliant on higher RPMs as the Mag V/Z does. Advantages: 1. better control in low speed casting 2. lighter system weight compared with the mag Z 3. braking backs off at the end of the cast to allow a longer cast.

It should be fine. That's something I've never heard of happening. If the spools are the same size then they're usually interchangeable with other Daiwa reels. You can put one in and just slowly turn the handle. You'll know right away if it's not gonna work.

I bought the reel through a friend that works for the Tackle Trap. Gary, doesn't really do much from the store these days. He works from home most of the time.

Triace Tackle on Ebay has them for $100 and you even get a nice reel cover with it. It's not difficult to find them for that price. As for gear ratio buy what you want. 6:3-7:3 will be fine for all purpose bass fishing.

They have a shallow version and deeper version. Though it's only like 10-15 yards more line. It's all in the inductor and spring combo really. The material doesn't matter as far as making it an sv spool though. I only mentioned 2 materials though. A7075 and G1 haha

You can buy a CT right now on eBay for $100 brand new. There's even one on there currently for $90. They will not drop in price when the sv is released. @Brett's_daddy
