The Tatula is a great reel. It's tough to beat. Especially for the prices you can buy one. As long as it's comfortable to you. Some have complained about the larger frame not fitting their hands well. It's also on the heavier side by today's standards. Those are the only things anyone has really brought up. There have been issues with grooving of the t wing. I never experienced that personally. Daiwa will also fix it for you if it happens. What I was saying is that the tws is a sales gimmick and doesn't offer any benefit over a traditional line guide as far as distance is concerned. Don't buy it expecting to gain 30ft on your cast. Buy it expecting a solid reel that performs well.

I like the idea of it. Just didn't change the fishing reel world like some think. 5% is 6ft on a 40 yard cast. Which is what most would consider a long cast. Nowhere near as mind blowing as it's made out to be on all the project T videos. I would guess that's with pro's testing it also. Could be wrong. I've owned 3 and have done testing in the yard and on the water against other Daiwa reels. The $70 Exceler Exe will throw a 3/8 casting plug the same distance. Both on the same rod and #30 power pro braid.

It is a gimmick. It clearly worked on some people. It's a good idea but it doesn't not perform any better when compared to a regular line guide. #coolstorybro

I'm not familiar with that series but I use a Phenix Recon 2. Light or ml is the right place to start. Mine is the 713 ml but the 712/682 is also a good choice. I can throw true 1/8oz baits but the 712/682 would do it better. However, that's the lowest I go and normally it's closer to 1/4oz so that's why I went with the 713.

Including the plastic you're looking at 1/4oz and possibly more depending on what plastic it is. 1/8oz tungsten with a trick worm and a light wire hook is not a problem for any of today's modern reels. Proper rod is the important part in the equation.

Yozuri hybrid is a copolymer that is inexpensive and a good line. #12 has a break strength of 19lbs

It takes all of 10 seconds to open it up and turn a brake tab on or off. Most baits can be thrown using either 1 or 2 tabs on. If you have a well trained thumb like you say then turning 1 tab on would be plenty. Set it and forget it.

Pick up a can of brake clean, and a bottle of Remington oil from Walmart. Rem oil will be in the gun section and the brake clean in automotive. Spray the bearings generously with brake cleaner. Then spray some in a glass jar and let them soak for a bit. Take them out and spin them on a pencil a few times. Let them dry for about 10 minutes and add 1 small drop of rem oil to each bearing. You'll need a spool pin tool to remove the bearing from the spool shaft. If you don't have one you can use a soda cap and fill it up with solvent and sit the spool on end so that the bearing is submerged. Be sure to check that whatever solvent you use doesn't react with the plastic first if you don't have the tool.

They've never had any more Bucoo's after that. Just didn't sell. $130 rods are high dollar to these people.

I think they were just on the shelf for a long time and didn't sell. I bought 3 Bucoo's for $25 + tax.

Bought it and sold it right away. It's more like ml/mod as Falcon overrated the Bucoo series. I found mine at Walmart also but at about a 1/3rd of that price. I wouldn't spend $100 on it. I bought a Fury 705cb when they came out. It's a nice SB crankbait rod. I actually still own a Bucoo 6'10 H 'pitchin stick' and it's what I use for SB cranks. It's labeled as a H but in reality it's a mh. That paired with its mod fast action makes it a good SB rod.

If you go used you can get a better rod for about 60% of what it would cost new. $200 is a great budget either new or used. The Avid gets very high praises and I wouldn't be afraid to spend my money on one of them.

I haven't used the SB special yet as I just got it. I did play around with it for a bit. Upon flexing the blank and making a few test casts in the yard. I'd say power wise it's pretty close. The emtf is definitely faster in taper. From all the reading I've done most people say these are the 2 to have out of the xx lineup along with the Diablo. Which will be my next addition.

According to Keith the owner of Powell, the max 3d is a slightly better blank than the endurance. Then they created one series that offered all the powers,lengths, and actions of the previous two series. I have no doubt that it's a fine rod but I'm not much on the color scheme. I enjoyed the look of the endurance. It was also a step up from the original max series. I still have 1 endurance 723 that I'll probably never sell.

TW has free shipping once you hit $50. I've never had a problem doing that. I always pay the $5 extra for 2 day.

Don't dip elaztech plastics, or store them with regular plastics. They don't play well with others. Anything else I've never had trouble with.

Yes, there are a few companies that have a portable rod carrier.

It depends on the banks I'm walking. If it's open then I stick 2-3 in my backpack along with 2 plano 3700 boxes and some plastics. I zip it up and toss it on my back. Then carry one to use while fishing. Switching out as needed. If there's tree branches and stuff I carry them in my hand and set them down while I fish that area.

The reel stores the line. The rod casts the lure. Yes, some reels perform better than others but it's not by a lot.
