Starting Off The Boys... How To Get Them Fishing...
I set my friends son up with a 6'6 medium Shakespeare rod and a Shimano 2500 spinning reel. Purchased at Walmart for about $50. After about 10 minutes of showing him how to cast he was out casting his dad. He had a blast. Bobber and a worm.

looking for a new reel.
Pick one out that has the features you're wanting and go with it. At $150-200 it's all really a matter of personal preference. They will all be good choices. Daiwa Shimano Lews Abu

Perfect example of why you don't always need the lightest reel possible. Congrats on the pickup.

Shimano reels what makes the diff. gear ratios?
Just like changing the gears in a Ford 9" rear. Replace the main and pinion gear.

One Lure Only
I wouldn't fish. My hobby would be totally different. It's pretty absurd to to think you can only use 1 bait forever.

Question for Daiwa SV users
There are two sv 105 spools. You need the one for the alphas sv. It fits the Zonda 68. You can save yourself about $15-20 by ordering from Japan tackle. Unless there's other things you want from hedgehog studios.

Crap, I need a new go to line
I always buy whatever one I can find the best deal on. It might be clear, smoke, or green. I've never noticed a difference. I always seem to get the clear the most because it's always available in 6-12lb from the same place for a good price. The last time I stocked up I payed $7 per 600yd spool with free shipping. I bought 8 spools so I'll be good for the next year or more.

Suffix 832 or Power Pro?
832 is softer feeling when compared to PP when it's new. Once broken in I couldn't tell you the difference between them. I only know what's on each reel because I keep a record of what my combos are spooled with. PP is cheaper.

Megabass Warranty/Customer Service?
It doesn't have to be bought from MB USA, just from an authorized MB dealer to be covered under warranty.

200000000 person too ask this qustion....LOL
I'm a search first and research on my own before asking type of person. Google can give you info/answers to almost anything you want to know. My opinion is the same as Jrob's in that people are lazy and want answers handed to them. I refer to it as spoon feeding. The stickies section on any forum is always the first place I'd start looking for info.

Cleaning outside reel body & rods?
I use Meguiars quick detailer spray to wipe down my reels and rods throughout the season. I'll use wax during the winter when I'm bored. The magic eraser works great on dirty cork handles. Then I'll seal with U-40.

Custom Rod built Input needed
I gotcha. I've never looked into sourcing any. I just always see Matt 'otterrods' post pics of his builds on TT and he uses their stuff. I like the balancer end cap.

It's comparable in size to a Tatula. I think it's the angle but it does look tiny in his pic.

Matagi has very nice components.

Stupid Tube Setup
'Stupid tube' is a brand of jig head. It's a tx rigged tube using a lead jig head. It's nothing new to a lot of people. I use jig heads from Walmart.

Dobyns Fury as next rod?
It's decent for the price. If I was looking for a $100 rod it be either a Fury or 10+3= ** fishing 0men 2

Reel Magic line conditioner bunch of questions
Kvd line and lure conditioner is the product you want to use. Reel magic will not give you the same results as the l&l. Spray it on as you are spooling up and then the night before you go fishing. Fire line I have no idea since I don't use it. Braid it does nothing for.

I'm looking for a finnesse and light lure throwing baitcaster
You need to be looking at an ultra light or light powered rod for those weights and #10 power pro is a better choice.

I'm looking for a finnesse and light lure throwing baitcaster
Shimano Aldebaran BFS XG Limited is ready to go straight out of the box. It's about $300. What are the weights of what you plan to throw? Light lure can mean different things to different people. My opinion on BFS is anything about 1/16-3/16 ounce in total weight. The rod you mentioned isn't going to work for those weights. The Pxr/Px68 is a great choice but they're aren't being made any longer so finding a new one is almost impossible. If you don't mind used then it's one to consider too.

Pitching Docks
#30 is plenty but be aware that braid isn't the most abrasion resistant against things like rocks.

I'm late to the Keitech party -- can someone catch me up?
I use them as trailers on swim jigs and bladed baits. I'll also fish them on a jig head or a weighted ewg hook. The 4.8 fat is a heavy plastic. You could even use it weightless up in the shallows.
