  1. At that price it's a solid buy. I've owned a few that I got on clearance also. I've never had an issue with them. It's a plain jane rod but it performs. They were all micro guide models. Just know that their rods tend to be overrated a bit. My 6'10 H fishes like a mh from other companies. It's also a mod/fast taper so it's not my preferred choice for bottom contact. It's my go to squarebill rod or jerkbaits.
  2. 108 yards with the Antares. The technique is nothing like you'd use in normal fishing. Scroll to 3:15
  3. Overruns on braided line are generally easier to get out.
  4. 2016 STEEZ SV 5.8oz 12/110 $399 retail but it'll come down 2013 STEEZ SV 6.3 5.3oz 12/90 $300 used
  5. It's difficult to make a wrong choice at that price range. They'll all be solid performers. Find a company that offers a model that has the features you're looking for.
  6. Good thing we have options and this scenario would never exist.
  7. Newest pics I've see if it. Its also been confirmed that the reel is made in Japan.
  8. One the colors I'll definitely be adding. Can't go wrong with a chartruese/black squarebill.
  9. A few Megabass S cranks I picked up the other day. 7 pop x's are on their way from Japan also. Come on spring time!
  10. For me it's the weight of what's tied on and how far away my target is.
  11. Braid - palomar braid to flipping hook - snell mono/fluoro - uni braid to mono/fluoro - albright
  12. I'm using a 6'7 med/fast currently.
  13. On the very first cast I'll say only a handful. 2nd 3rd 4th 5th ect.. Well that's more than I can remember. Toothy critters can really cost you some money in tackle.
  14. A rod rated 1/4 - 1oz for example 1/4oz is the minimum required to load the blank properly. 1oz is the max or you risk overloading the blank. total weight is what you want to think about. 5" senko weighs almost 3/8oz without a weight. Ratings are guidelines and not always accurate.
  15. It would be strange for them not to have their flagship reel be made in Japan but who knows. We will find out soon enough.
  16. It's strange that the 'steez' has the t wing exposed a lot more.
  17. That's a good find for $90. Definitely pick it up as long as it's in good working order.
  18. It's like a moped... Fun to ride but you wouldn't want your friends to see you on one.
  19. They were able to keep it very light at 5.5oz but it's definitely full bodied.
  20. Another new release coming out
  21. Nothing really negative at all. It's just marketed as this mind blowing design that gives you a large increase in casting distance over a normal line guide.
  22. Mike, I'm with you on that. The Tatula is a fantastic performer for $90 and even against more expensive reels.
