  1. ^^^ it got you. Yeah, it did for quite a few people. I've received a handful of pm's about buying one. I don't think we will ever see a day where the limited is as cheap as the regular 1st gen Steez. If we do they'd be sold out before any of us had a chance to buy one. Yet alone 9. I even put "" around the key words giving it away as a joke
  2. Just so everyone knows that was just an April Fools gag.
  3. Matt does amazing work. I love looking at his builds.
  4. Yeah, for sure. I paid $40 for a 100ft roll and made 20. That makes them $2ea. I sold them for $5ea and kept some for myself that ended up being free in the end. I use some from a different company now but I order them long and cut them to the exact length I want for the rod it's going on and sew it back up like new.
  5. I bought 5 lefties 'keeping 1' and 4 righties to sell off.
  6. A sot provides the ability to stand and fish also. I have a buddy with the 12t and it's plenty stable to stand and fish from all day.
  7. It pays to sign up to be on jpanglers email list. Looks like Steez Ltd is on clearance sale. I’d prefer we keep this info from TT because I’m not sure how much they have in stock. If you “know” please don’t "post".
  8. Made 20 of these years ago and I'm still using a handful of them now. I didn't use a hot knife or a piece of copper. Just scissors, heat shrink, and a lighter.
  9. Never tried cx but I use cxx in 10/12 and it's been good so far. It's thicker than other brands so it's more like 12/14 really.
  10. I provided a link to where to purchase the met xg handle. It comes as an assembly. You don't have to swap anything over. You have to purchase the handle assembly, handle nut,and retainer. You'll probably speak with Brian when you call. Ask him if the nut and retainer are included. I purchased mine direct from Shimano and had to order all 3 pieces.
  11. Thanks, Justin. It'll be on a perfect pitch within the next week. It's on the way.
  12. You're just asking for a headache.
  13. Felt like the longest week ever but it's here and oh my goodness it's nice!
  14. Stock 96mm metanium xg handle is nice. I had one on a CH51E. http://tackletrap.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=5395
  15. Zodias would be my choice. The feedback on them is fantastic. I own both a 2 and 3 power Recon. Love the 3 power but the 2 power is too moderate of an action for what I wanted it for. It says fast action but it couldn't be further off. It casts nice and is built well though.

  17. You mention 'regular' spool. That could be an og zillion and if so. It's a great reel but the stock spool performs best with baits over 3/8oz. There are a handful or spool options though to make it a more all purpose reel. That however adds another $70 to your purchase price. You then have the zillion tws which is an expensive Tatula basically according to most. Then you mention the sv spool models. You have the Sv103 which looks like an updated og zillion and the new tws zillion sv. I've heard nothing but good things about the sv103. The other hasn't been out long but initial feedback is also good. A reel is just a storage device for line and it really doesn't matter if you're throwing treble baits or jigs and worms. The sv105 or the new Tatula ct might be worth looking into also. What is it exactly that you're looking for in a reel? As mentioed the sv spools aren't meant for long bombing casts. They do provide trouble free casting though and some cast a bit better than others.
  18. Try the Albright special. It's quick to tie and strong. It'll pass through the guides on a Cashion. I use #30 braid for a mainline and tie leaders of #6-20. #12 + it's 6-8 wraps #12 - it's 8-10 wraps
  19. A Steez has 12 including the anti reverse bearing and it's under 6oz.
  20. Yeah, here soon I'll be able to actually test it on the water and mess with it. That was just the simulation screen. I'm waiting on a micro sd card for it. Should be a few days.
  21. Another reason to stick with #12 yozuri for any non braid uses. Thanks for the testing.
  22. It's all about confidence. If switching to fluoro gives you the confidence that you'll fish the technique better then go for it. I tie a fluoro leader 90% of the time but there are certain situations were I'll use a combo with straight fluoro. It wouldn't hurt to try it out and see what you think.
  23. I bought some from Ollies as well for $2.99 and it turned out to be junk. Not saying it all is, but mine was. I'll stick with #12 yozuri or #10 cxx for a tough inexpensive copoly.
  24. I think I'm going to put it on my emtf for now until I sell off some gear. Then I'll grab an XX perfect pitch for it probably. We'll see what happens. I'm back up to having more combos than I want so I gotta sell off some things before anymore buying happens.
