Yup, somedays I wish I'd stuck with $200 combos. At least then you get a better return if you sell it. I sold 3 $250 rods on here last week as a bundle for $300 shipped and paypal'd. $27.75 for fees and shipping. $272.25 was my return on $750. Ridiculous!

The only downside to the tdz is the gear ratio. If you want to use it for a general purpose reel you'll need to buy a gear set and that's $50 but only if you're a lefty. No right handed options are available. If you put a swept handle on it then you'll need a new drag star. It adds up quick when you start buying parts. I have $220 in my tdz for upgrades and then the initial price of the reel which was $125. Then add the cost of getting it painted if you go that route.

I buy nice gear because I I have no other hobbies and I also enjoy having nice things. I can afford it at this point in my life so why not. Can't take it with you. Also as mentioned it's just enjoyable to use. When I float the river for smallmouth I take a $50 combo. I have no problems catching 25-50 fish on it each time we go out. I still have a good time also. As they say - get in where you fit in. There's guys out there fishing Megabass arms rods and limited edition monoblocks. Easily a $2,200 combo. I don't fit in there and never will.

My Sonoma had a 6ft bed. I used these on mine. Worked great. It's called the rodsman. I actually have 2 sets I'd let go cheap. Don't own a truck anymore. @Zeeter

I'd definitely look into joining the kayak buy/sell/trade group on facebook. You can find some good deals on there. I saw a ride 115x yesterday with a rudder kit,blackpack crate, and the airpro max seat for $1,200.

I'm a big fan of my ride 115 but the rear tankwell area is rather small. Once my engle cooler is in there it's full basically. Definitely not getting a crate and cooler in there at the same time. I put a soft cooler in the front hatch. Maybe one of the WS commander kayaks would fit the bill a bit better.

I guess it still counts even if I'm not keeping any of them. Newer Steez SV reels with 2nd gen Zillion rods. Buy em up folks.

It's nothing to be worried about and is normal with the 1st gen Tatula. Make sure you leave about 2-3mm of space from the spool edge when you put line on.

I've owned both the Daiwa lexa and exceler exe reels. I prefered the exceler over the Lexa and my friend who now owns both reels said the same thing also. The Lexa has 1 more bearing than the exceler exe reels. For $50 it's a no brainer.

Well my seat was ordered yesterday and I contacted WS today and they're sending me out the temporary fix kit just incase and the permanent fix once its finalized. So hopefully all goes well and I really enjoy it. That's a lot money for a dang seat.

Yeah, I have the freedom elite high seat now. It's too low for me while fishing and makes my lower back hurt. As for being too large I think I'm safe there. I only wear a 34 and the gf tells me a I have no *** all the time.

Is the low position higher than your previous high seat, or just when in the high position?

My 115x is a 12/13 model I believe. Did you have the standard high seat before the max? Make a big difference to you?

It says that you can but out of all the videos I've seen about the seat nobody actually changes position while in the yak so it had me curious. So still just the temp fix. I already have a ride so no Atak for this guy.

Can you switch from hi to low while seated? Did you experience any issues with it falling out of the tracks? How's the comfort for you guys that are stalky?

Sv spool is a great upgrade to a tdz. There have been issues with the inductor getting stuck in the out position sometimes though. Just something to be aware of.

It's all been the X4 lineup that got the negative remarks. The P3 and X7 Destroyer got good reviews. I'd definitely pay $300 for a P3.

Too many MB users have told me the destroyer x4 series was a let down and the xx rods felt better. That was enough to steer me clear of them. That would of been my next step up but luckily I got some good guidance beforehand. Now the x7 is a totally different story but I'm happy with what I have right now. Maybe some day down the road. The 2016 destroyer lineup is said to be very nice though.

I really wanted to stick to the xx lineup. I have some now and know how they feel and so on. That helps to possibly eliminate buying a rod that I'm not happy with. D*mn you Megabass!

Yes, they both do, but in reality it's simply a dual bearing supported pinion gear.

Most anything it'll get used for will be lighter in weight. 1/8-3/8 being the majority of it plus plastic. Sounds like the ronin has the power part covered but possibly not the action from what byram just said. Exactly why I'm so stuck deciding on which rod.
