spinning setup. necessary?
Regarding bass tackle I own 1 spinning combo and its sole purpose is for the drop shot. I rarely use that technique so it never gets used unless we float the river for smallmouth. I can cast 1/8oz baits accurately and with enough distance to not need a spinning rod for how I fish. Some of my favorite little hard baits to throw are a yozuri pin minnow and the rebel super teeny wee R.

Kayak Anglers: Let's See Your Crates!!!!
I'll have a blackpack and a panfish here in 3wks since that's what I'll be getting as my bday gift from the lady. Right now it's your plain milk crate with the bottom cut off another to act as a lid. I used pieces of bungee to be the hinges and mounted pieces of pvc as rod holders.

Bfs reel advice
I will tell you that some of those baits weigh more than you'd think. The Zodias light would be a good choice. I've heard great things about that line of rods. No, I use #8 Sunline on that combo. I do know people who run #10 braid though. I have that on my 1 reel and ml rod and it's been fine. If you want the king of bfs spools for the alphas platform find yourself a used Cosugi Works spool.

Bfs reel advice
It's a popular spool, and it will serve you just fine. It will fit your alphas sv also. Secondly, the rod is equally important in the situation. It has to load properly to cast your intended baits. I have a 2 power bfs rod and throw 3.5g baits without a problem. How light to you plan to throw?

What Line & Setups For Tourney
That's false information imo. I fish no higher then #30 except on my frog rod and I even use #10 on my one bfs combo. I have no issues with dig in. Yes, if you try to pull a snag free it'll happen but that's with any size braid. It will just be a bit more with smaller sized braid. It's not the best idea to do that anyhow. You could potentially damage your spool.

What Line & Setups For Tourney
I was also confused a bit. So you're a tournament fishermen and have 14 nrx's rods but you don't know how to set them up for your waters? In the spirit of the original question... I'd run a mix of different line types for different presentations. braid copoly flouro

Braid for jerkbaits and crankbaits
I prefer a leader but have gotten by on straight braid also. Just back your drag off some. My only gripe is you tend to get some fouled hooks on poppers and occasionally jerkbaits if fishing them fast.

It's a swept carbon handle from Hawgtech and those are their knobs.

Inches per turn
The reel that has the larger spool will have more line on it at the end of a long cast and the ipt would be closer to the listed rating verse a reel with a shallow spool at the end of a long cast.

Best place to get reels serviced
You have a few choices depending on the level of tuning you're talking about and how much you want to spend. Mike - Deleware valley tackle Trey Harpel - threeltuning Ian Shields - Shields rod and reel Ian is THE reel tuner if you want the very best tuning service out there. It's amazing what he can do.

Fluoro leader???
My leader length will vary anywhere from 1' - 6' depending on the situation. I use the Albright Special for my connecting knot. It's treated me good for years now. My rods have semi micro guides but are pretty small. I have no issues with the knot passing through the guides. This is right before the final trim up of the tag ends. #30 power pro to #10 cxx using 10 wraps.

Fluoro leader???
Not usually. If the rod has micro guides and you experience trouble then use a slimmer knot.

Yo-Zuri Hybrid...is it worth it?
It works just fine as a leader, trust me. Just remember you can't believe everything you read online. Edited for further explanation. I've been using yozuri in 6-12 as either a main line or a leader 'mainly leaders' since Walmart used to sell it in the plastic container however many years ago that was. I fish waters that are full of toothy critters and mussels. The line has definitely has plenty of abrasion resistance. A pickerel will slice right through 30lb braid. I've landed more pickerel on yozuri than I can count.

Handle Hard to Turn when Drag Tightened
It's when those pieces put pressure on the internals of the reel. I can't recall the part but I had the sane problem with a Lews speed spool years ago. Try flipping the sleeve that goes over the driveshaft and sets on top of the main gear stack.

Rod lure weight confusion
You already said the word... guidelines is exactly all they are. I throw 3/16oz 70% of the time and go up/down as needed.
