Finally able to find a J Dream limited for a good price and in really good condition. #dreamteam

Installed mine earlier after everything was delivered.

Just posting this for anyone who may not want to use a Lowrance unit on their ride kayak. I opted to switch to a Raymarine dragonfly 5. The transducer bracket holes on the bottom of the console match perfectly with the Raymarine transducer bracket. It was just as simple as when I installed my old Lowrance unit. The transducer is much longer but still fits in the opening and is still rather protected. The Lowrance transducer does sit up in a bit more though. So there is another easy to install option to use on the ride kayaks. Thanks for looking.

Yeah, I knew they were 2 different sizes. I knew people adapted different sized spools using spacers but I've never heard of someone just using it with the gap. You'd think tons of people would just throw the smaller sv spool in the og zillion and call it a day if it works without any issues.

Isn't the R+ spool only for the standard tdz/Steez/t3 platform? 100m spool is larger and fits 100m/ml and OG zillion.

No, they won't. Lews, quantum, abu-garcia, BPS, and pflueger are all pretty much interchangeable though.

Red label in my opinion is no better than a copoly. I had nothing but trouble even in lower test. Sunline sniper is the most cost effective for a quality line that I've found. I use #12-16 regularly and without l&l having no issues. You have not mentioned if this is on a spinning or casting reel. On spinning I'd never use over #8 but I prefer #15 braid with a leader of #6-10 on spinning and casting it's mostly #30 braid with a leader of #8-16 depending on the cover.

I have found rods that offer what I'm looking for for $180-300 so I have no need to go above that. Usually about $250 is my normal spending price. I also buy used a lot so my $250 is getting me a much higher prices rod if I was to purchase at retail. I don't pay retail unless its something I really want. As for reels to own some of the higher end or limited versions you have to spend more than that like the J dream or Steez limited. That's also still buying used. Plus with reels and especialy Daiwa and Shimano you have tons of options for upgrades like higher gears,spools,handles,knobs,and dress up parts. It's easy to turn a $100 reel into a $300 reel very quickly. A decent used tdz is roughly $100 then you add in the 'necessary' parts. Sure they all might not be needed but that's part of the fun for me. 7:1 gears = $50 SV spool = $80+ carbon handle = $60 swept drag star = $27 carbontex drag = $8 good bearings = $20+

Dobyns fishes 1 power lighter Tatula fishes 1 power higher Dobyns 4pwr = Tatula medium I liked my Tatula but didn't care for the super small trigger. It dug into my finger so I sold it. The Xt uses the reel seat I can't stand. Dobyns uses my favorite reel seat Both are fine rods just pick the one that's the most comfortable and feels the best in your hand.

It's commonly called the anti reverse bearing. The roller bearings should be in the cages. It's possible you could reassemble it. I'd order a new one by calling Lews. You'll just have to tell them which reel you have.

Faster is better... Get the xg! Since you work a t rig with your rod and the reel is only to take up the slack why wouldn't you want to pick up more line?

I like yozuri hybrid and I just recently picked up a spool of #12 cxx. First thing I noticed is it's a larger diameter than most other #12 lines. It's more like #14/15 from other brands.

I keep buffalo trace in the cabinet and also their Eagle rare. A bottle or 2 of Bulleit for making mixed drinks. The Kentucky Buck being a personal favorite along with your other typical bourbon drinks.

The type R has a spool that's lighter and 2 corrosion resistant ball bearings. Which means nothing really if only fishing freshwater. Bearing count is the same. Purchase four 4x7x2.5 bearings for about $5 and add 1 to each knob and 2 to the worm shaft and you'll have yourself a 12 bearing reel. Not required but it's a cheap upgrade.

The 2pwr is rated for 3/8oz The 3pwr is rated for 1/2oz The 3 power will handle 1/2oz but it feels like it's at its limit. 3/8oz is its sweet spot. According to Goose the 2 power will handle 3/8oz but it's near its limit also. If the 2 power follows suit then 1/4oz will be the sweet spot for it. It'll be a fun combo. Both are rated as fast action and I'd give the 713 a mod/fast rating slightly more towards fast but the 2 power is definitely a lot more towards the mod end of the spectrum.

Anything 1/8-1/4oz +\- a couple grams I can find. I did some weighing of baits and terminal tackle the other day. I was able to put together a decent little plastics selection for it. I already have the 3 power Recon and I've wanted to try this one out for awhile now. Finally found one used. Finesse or Trick worms weightless or with 1/16-1/8 weight. 3/4" senkos weightless 3" grubs with 1/16-1/8 heads neko rigs using 1/16-1/8oz heads or 3/32 nail weight Keitechs fat and regular 2-4" weightless or with 1/16-1/8oz jig head on the smaller ones. Ned rigs Also some small cranks and poppers that I have.

Been using #16 for roughly 3yrs now. Can't beat it for $20

I see they have released a new series called 'hook' that's replaced the elite 5 hdi chirp. They have a hook 5x that has chirp and ds but no gps for $299 or with Gps for $399.
