100$ Rods
i got my first carbon lite while they were on sale, 7'6" medium heavy, micro guides, love it. My new Duckett is my number one rod, but that carbonlite is very nice. If i needed another rod it would be hard not to pick up a carbonlite.

Thoughts On The Major League Fishing Format?
i'd be happy if i could watch it the weekend its happening, how much harder would it be, to devote an hour a day on the 4 day tourney. 1 hour on Thurs, Fri, Sat, and Sun. Give me an hour program of that days highlights show the weigh-in, we dont have to see everybody weigh-in, and call it good. Trying to cram 4 days of fishing in one hour its just to much. LIke the Elite series didnt it used to come on Sats? Now it seems like early morning sunday unless it comes on later too. I know ESPN sold BASS so I'm guessing it's on its way out with ESPN maybe? which might be a good thing. It needs to be moved to a more Fishing friendly network, WFN, Outdoor, or NBC Sports, and then maybe we would see a format change.

Fishing Oklahoma
I like to keep my Fluro at 15 most of the time. Sometimes i use 20, but i like the smaller diameter. Braid, this year i got some spooled up with 20 & 40 alot of it depends on the brush your fishing.

Snap Swivels Uses?
I mean i have rods i designate for certain things, but i am not about to designate 3 rods for say 3 different color jerk baits that i want tied on at once. even if i was fishing out of a boat i just dont want to have to keep up with all that. Maybe as i get more into Tourney fishing my thoughts will change, but thats my perspective right now. I had to chuckle at a co-angler last Saturday, the dude had from what i could quick count at least 9-10 rods. I looked at my boater and i'm like shoot 4 is more than plenty for me. He will spend more time un-tangling them then what he would retying.

Snap Swivels Uses?
i always heard KVD uses snaps on his cranks, i think he's done pretty decent for him self hehe

Snap Swivels Uses?
i like to use them on hard baits. To be able to quick change as needed. But i like to use a heavy duty style snap cause i have lost some fish and a lures to the crappier thin wire snaps. Still not sure if i prefer with or without a swivel attached to the snap. I'll have to snag a pic of my heavy duty one it doesnt have a swivel on it but your never going to have to worry about a fish or something else pulling it open. My dad said he found them at BPS but i still can't find them. soft baits/jigs i want to tie directly to the lure. I have on occasion put my jig on a snap when im down on rods for the situation.

Evening Farm Pond Fishing - 20 Bambinos In 2 Hours
Well this nice weather i knew i just had to go get out there. This time i passed on my dad's ponds since there still muddy. I ended up going to a neighbors farm ponds thats near our land. Wow and glad i did. No monsters and some were so little i can't believe i caught them ha! First i started out throwing a scrounger jog head with baby bass fluke caught 2 and missed some. then i decided to throw a yellow magic topwater bait. caught one decent one, and had a couple miss it. Then i went to my old favorite from last year the caffeine shad caught a few more then as it slowed down i decided to move to the shallow end of the pond, first cast boom fish, next cast strike, next cast boom fish. If i didnt catch a fish i got a bite, sometimes i'd get a second bite reeling the bait in on the top of the water. They must be stacked deep in that pond really should thin some out. I have caught some 3 and 4's out of there in the past but the little ones are so plenty full and more active. Had a blast though just catching some fish, final count was 20, and it was almost to dark to see walking back to the jeep, and they were still biting when i left. Going to try and take the wife early Saturday if we can get out before all the family festivities this weekend for Easter. Here is a few pics of the the fish i caught, from the smallest to about the biggest.

Braid And Jigs
jig newb as of last year, i direct tied to braid. Just figured some of the junk you go to cast in you want some solid line to be able to get those beasts out of that hiding spot.

First Real Experience With The Ole Alabama Rig
I was looking yesterday on fav swimbaits to use. Right now I been using money minnows, i came across an older post about your LF Live Magic Shad i will give them a try for sure! One thing i keep hearing is the 4 on the outside be the same and the one in the middle go to a bigger version or have it be slightly different.

First Real Experience With The Ole Alabama Rig
I recently fished the BWS saturday on Tenkiller and had my first real experience with the Alabama Rig. YumBrella with 5" swimbaits. Yikes was that a different experience for myself. I cracked my boater up on my first cast. "you threw that like your were afraid too" I was like heck yea i was, this thing is freaking huge i didnt know what to expect, nothing like getting the feel for something on tournament day. ha But in about 15 mins it did land my first tournament keeper a 3 pound large mouth, and right before weigh-in it put a 1 1/2 pound kentucky in the live well. I had one other fish with a Caffeine shad that was a under length smallie. I was throwing this monster on a 7'6" Carbonlite micro guides medium-heavy with a Fast tip. Using PQ 7:1:1 Reel with 40 pound power pro braid. I had some growing pains while fishing it but nothing to terriable. Would you say this setup is okay to continue throwing the A-Rig on? Or should i look to a different rod with a heavy action. At the end of the day and we were leaving he saw my giant rig with the 5" baits and he said thats what you were throwing? geeze that thing is huge! His Alabama rig was a smaller one and looked to be only throwing about 3" swimbaits.

Go Rick Go!!!!
i was watching some old Bass Pros, season 1. It's really the first i have heard Rick Clunn speak and he comes off as such the old hippy type. But hey he is the other Mr 4 Timer. So i guess he knows a little about what he is doing. Sending my positive energy to Falcon.

Go Rick Go!!!!
Bassmasters is reporting Rick caught a 6 pounder in the final minutes. Might just be enough!

Rattle Traps
The old Chrome/Blue used to be my go-to lure, but now thinking back i used it very minimal last year. Got into fishing majority of plastics most of the time. I will have to visit my old friend more often this year. @Sam: Interesting tip about taking the back hook off on the fishing grass.

Bws On Lake Tenkiller Brrrrrrrrr
Bassmasters and FLW you have to use their official weigh-in bags no exceptions. ha i know, i had already pre-registered for these two events over the winter. My first event in my new ride will be April 20th with Lake Country Anglers on Hudson Lake. And some pre-fishing before that. Thinking about trying some weekly jackpots as well, the wife has been itching to go fish, she called me this morning wanting to know about the jackpot on Lake Ft. Gibson she is wanting to fish it with me! but its going to be cold and i dont want to ruin her but she said doesn't matter is wanting to go. So unless something happens i'll be fishing my first jackpot with my wife, my luck she will out fish me! ha

Bws On Lake Tenkiller Brrrrrrrrr
Well for my 2nd outing as a co-angler this time on the BWS, it was a cold one! I will say this after fishing the BFL, Bassmasters could learn a thing or two from FLW. Sending out Text messages with partner names, times, and phone number is great idea! Being able to pre-register via email is handy. And i still can't find the full results on the ABA website. Also having more than 30 weigh-in bags for 284 people would have been nice as well. There was 142 boats, weather in the morning low 40's and the high was only in the high 40's. it felt like winter again in OK. Cloudy, misty, and just cold on that water. I had my layers on and was still a little cold. Luckily the gloves i had bought that were finger tip less really paid off. My hands stayed toasty and i could still feel my baitcaster. Caught my first fish about 9am on the A-Rig weighed about 3 pounds and i thought ohhhh man, maybe i'm going to find these guys. Well it wasn't until about 1pm when i caught my next fish an under length smallie on a caffeine shad. Then i finished out the last 30 mins with the A-Rig and about 5 mins before time to go in i caught a Kentucky that weighed probably a little less than 1 1/2lbs. I was pretty excited to get to weigh in some fish. I came in 58th on the co-angler side with 4.44 pounds got to walk up on stage and held up my 3 pounder and my wife took a pic which is on the camera or i'd be posting it here. The leader had 13.xx pounds on the co-angler side which is only a 3 fish limit with BWS, and the boater had 21.xx pounds. I am having a blast and cant wait until the next one. Getting to weigh-in just made me want it more!
