  1. What lakes were you fishing? I caught some decent ones on some of the smaller lakes on a spinnerbait this week. I was thinking about going to nokomis but the wind was pretty bad and my boat is waaaay too small
  2. I'm a hawks fan, but the bruins have a locked down defense, which is probably the best in the league. its gonna be cool to see the Kane/Toews line go up against Chara
  3. haha, nope, but I don't have anything against the bruins. any team that sweeps the penguins is fine with me.
  4. yeah, i'm just happy the hawks get to play a team like the bruins. its gonna be a good series
  5. its gonna be a defensive battle. rask and crawford have both proved that they are great playoff goalies. all of the games are gonna be close. chicago in 7
  6. a lot of the lakes in northern wisconsin that i fish are really clear and i have been using straight 50 lb braid and the fish still bite
  7. if you want to fish spinnerbaits, check out the 7'1 med. heavy *** *** black. I have been using it for spinnerbaits, swim jigs, and chatterbaits and it has been a great rod. You could probably also use it for texas rigs and lighter jigs too. Its a good rod for only 100 bucks
  8. It depends what you are using it for. For drop shots and shaky heads I use 10 lb sunline sx1. It sinks so it is good for deeper water and stuff. I always use a 3 - 4 foot leader when I am fishing braid though
  9. asdf Im near Lake Tomahawk and Rhinelander. Thanks for the info, gonna fish really slow
  10. has anybody had any luck up north yet? gonna be up there in a few weeks
  11. thanks for all of the suggestions guys. may or may not be buying a tonneau cover this week so we will see. do you guys think that 7 foot rods would fit inside the cab?
  12. Been saving up for a truck for two years, finally got enough money and put money down on one after looking for a good 4 months. Anybody have any idea how to carry rods in a truck bed? Its a standard bed (6.5 feet). I am open to anything but I don't want to have the tips on my rods damaged. Thanks for your help
  13. the diesels are supposedly really good for the price, if you are fishing deeper water I would go for one of those. I got a one of the new Kister carbon steels in april and it is a amazing for shaky heads, dropshots, and whacky worms like the senko. Perfect amount of backbone and a ton of tip

Im taking classes for it at ECC next year, so if I don't like it I can switch to something else. I'm putting that ahead of fishing, but I would really like to fish in college.

I am pretty sure I want to fish on a club. I would go to school down south but I don't know if I'll be able to pay for it, and the major I am looking for isn't offered at many universities, only community colleges. I'm applying for a ton of scholarships so I'll just see how that works out.
  19. I have been using it for shaky heads. The color hasn't faded at all so far. It is a sinking braid
  20. everybody says mend it is great, I need to pick up a bottle
  21. I am going to use the drop shot a lot more this summer for smallmouth. I have only used roboworms, and I have done pretty well with them, but they tear up after 2 or 3 fish, so I'm wondering, what is everybody's favorite drop shot bait? a lot of the lakes i fish have gobies in them, so i'm thinking that might be a good way to go? give me some ideas thanks
  22. 15 lb sufix invisiline for most northern wi lakes for me. with a lot of the clear water up there i get nervous about using braid for anything but topwater. I tried using braid with a fluoro leader but i got tired of tying knots

I'm a 16 year old living near Chicago, I'm getting more serious about bass fishing everyday. I already plan on going to college and staying in school. I'm not fishing tournaments right now, but I am probably gonna talk to some clubs around my area to see if they would let a kid my age fish. I really want to fish on a team in college when I'm older though. Does anybody have any tips on becoming a college fisherman? Do most people fish in club tournaments before college? thanks a ton
