  1. Has anbody used this stuff? I read that it has neutral buoyancy so it doesn't float like normal braid. I'm thinking about 10 pound for shaky heads and drop shots.
  2. Has anbody been out to the fox yet? The water is pretty high by me
  3. Thanks for the help guys. Anybody know how light these things really are though?
  4. Anybody use any of these rods? They look awesome, and they're made in America. I'm looking at the frog rod. Can anybody recomend a frog rod at the same price point ($130.00)?
  5. Im out by Carpentersville, the ponds are at a forest preserve called Jelke Creek Bird Sanctuary. Tried a spro mcstick today and got denied again, haha. It's good practice though, trying to fish extremely slow. I'll try the rattletraps though.
  6. Anybody got any tips for fishing ponds this time of year? I'm fishing in a pond that gets to about 10 feet deep, mainly muck bottom, stained water, lots of structure in the form of wood. I got denied on a jerkbait two days ago and got denied on jigs yesterday.
  7. I got one off ebay a week ago for 100. If you can find one for that price, it's even more worth it. The reel is butttery smooth and I can't get it to backlash on the lowest brake settings. I'm gonna put 50 lb braid on it
  8. 3.5 inch big bite baits salt tube in lt melon perch. good for clear and stained water.
  9. you should check out that sunline SX1 braid. I know its a finesse line, but if you are gonna be in light cover and aren't going to be fishing topwaters, a sinking braid would be awesome
  10. 1/4 oz. for swim jigs, 3/8 for jigs in shallow water, 1/2 oz for cover or deeper water.
  11. I don't know why I picked Harvard but I did.. The Ol Miss vs. Wisconsin game was good too.
  12. I live in Illinois near Chicago but my family has a cabin in Lake Tomahawk. I'm pretty sure it's like an hour away from Wausau. What lakes do you fish up there?
  13. Haha, I want to do the same thing. I want to go to Whitewater though. I'm trying to at least find a club to fish in around where I live. Everybody I have talked to says that you should get on a club and get as many tournaments as you can done.
  14. Has anybody on here heard of Long Lake or Brown lake? I They are both in Newbold by Lake Tomahawk. I know there are like 50 Long Lakes in Wisconsin but the one I am talking about is about 100 acres and next to Muskellunge Lake.
  15. Saving Private Ryan Black Hawk Down Stripes The Hurt Locker Gettysburg
  16. deep water finesse fishing - drop shot
  17. I had the left hand model and I used it for swim jigs for a while. It was pretty good, but if you can pay the extra 20 bucks, I would try the lews speed spool. I had problems with the casting bar only going down half way so whenever I would try to cast, the line would not come out but that barely happened, just make sure to completely press down on it when you are casting. its pretty smooth too
  18. it's kind of hard out here. I go to Dundee crown, I don't know if you've heard of it. But I talked to the athletic director and he says i need to get at least 3 others from school who are willing to fish. On top of that we apparently need a sponsor to fish ihsa that works at the school
  19. I'm a 16 year old trying to get into tournament fishing, which is hard because I am the only one serious about bass fishing at my school. I am wondering, when did you all fish your first tournament? I read some where that Jeff Kriet fished and won his first 25 boat tournament when he was 14. Thought this would be a cool idea for a topic
  20. haha, I'm 16 so whenever I cook it is usually something in the microwave, but my mom always makes the chili in the link on my birthday
  21. oh gotcha didn't know what you guys meant for a second haha. Would have liked to see Tim Thomas end his career with you guys too
  22. this might sound stupid to say, but if regular season games don't matter, why don't they just start the season with the playoffs haha?
  23. as long as emery continues to play like a monster and hossa doesn't get cheapshotted every other game, we will continue to tear up the league
  24. I just use a 3 or 4/0 offset hook. screw locks would probably work too, but I would think that they would tear up the bait quicker
