Skipping wacky rigs with light line?
I use 10lb to 12lb I have no problem. I’ve used 8lb before and done fine. I think it’s more of a personal preference. I prefer 10 to 12 lb over 8 that’s just me. Some prefer 18 lb over 12 lb it’s all a personal preference.

Looking to learn from this
This is well said. They’re in pre-spawn frenzy. They do the same where I live. They make bass fishing hard for atleast a week. They won’t hit any lures. Like woody said you gotta snag them.

Looking to learn from this
It could very well be carp. Most of the time they look like they’re in a frenzy feeding when they are spawning. It could be another fish. I don’t know what’s in that water. As @Catt has said using a lure to mimic the baitfish profile would be my choice such as a rat-L-trap. If they don’t hit that move on might not be bass there.

Bank fishing tips!
Awesome video. I do same thing I look at a map before I head to lake to find a drop off near shore. I usually bring 2-3 poles with me when I shore fish. I bring a swimbait/spinnerbait (chatterbait), wacky rig (senkos), and a crank (Shad rap). This gives me opportunity to cover all types of conditions a bass would be in once I found deep water such as rock rip raft, weeds, brush, etc. I’ll have more lures in my backpack in a tackle box with different lures but those are my lures I’ll pull out first and know I can trigger a strike. Also when bank fishing longer casts really make a difference because you can cast down the bank without spooking the bass your going to be walking up to.

Squarebill cranks/bluegill color
I usually use bluegill color. I like KVD squarebill cranks. I’ve caught so many with them only ones I use. I use them mainly on brush, rock rip raft, or open water. I even use the big ones when the bite is good. Usually the bigger squarebill gets bigger fish.. I’ve caught a 8 lb walleye and a 1 1/2 pound crappie on it. They catch fish. Also like perch color.

Stay through into dark once or twice and see what happens. Hopefully you don't have an addictive personality. Lol me I’d fish all night if I could. Had the wife and 2 year old kid with me or I would’ve stayed a bit more. Bite was was good compared to last week. The weather is warming up. Next week- weekend should be a prime weekend for fishing! (80s-90s) compared to 45-60 degrees.

Went fishing at a local lake near me last night around 7 pm CT. Cloudy ☁️ 61 degrees winds about 3-4 mph. Was getting dark. Was fishing around weeds on one end of lake and Pretty far out on end of weeds a 3 1/4 pound largemouth hits my chatterbait 1/2 oz on a 4” zako. Also caught another one on dam rock rip raft on Shad rap about 1 pound 1/2 oz. Overall a good day!

I hope the bass don’t mind a little orange…
When I walleye fish orange ? is my go to color. I’ve caught more walleye on baits with orange on them. I don’t know why they love it so much. Caught a 28 inch 9lb walleye on strike king square bill with orange on it. Also an orange bladed Mepps aglia spinner is my go to for walleye.

Snap swivel selection
I don’t use on any of these used to use on inline spinners but felt it hinders action. Found I get better spin without swivel.

Snap swivel selection
I don’t use swivels of any sort. When I was a teenager I would use them religiously. After watching my buddy using same lure, same color and same line he was out fishing 5 to 1. I was very puzzled but then I did sn experiment in the water watching the action. The action changes significantly when you tie a swivel on. I just tie lure straight to line from now on. The lures perform better this way.

5 star fishing backpacks?
I’ve had a backpack from Walmart that costed $10 I would put in 3 boxes and gear. It was very heavy over the past 1 1/2 I decided to find something lighter. I knew I would have to take less tackle which for me wasn’t a problem. I found a sling backpack from KastKing on Amazon. I love the backpack it’s very versatile and I can go all day down a bank with it. It holds (2) 3600 boxes. Lots of pockets. Space isn’t as great as a regular backpack but there’s enough for two 3600 boxes and some gear. Overall I love it. I donate them too. It’s crazy how many you see in the weeds, Moss, or on a branch in and out of water.
