  1. I'm pushing the seventy mark and my brain still doesn't accept the fact it want's to fish all day several days and then go golfing to relax!! My trouble has been pancreatitis, cancer, diabetes, arthritis (just like mentioned above). They drain the ol pocket book. But I have been truly blessed and the good Lord lets me still compete on a smaller level. I would still love to fish the larger tourneys but the above along with awesome grand kids keep me in check. Tight Lines all
  2. Gimmie both....they are both tools to be employed and enjoyed. Each having there specialty. Love light line and finesse fishing...love flipping. Some times these ol hands need a break and a light spinning rod makes the day go longer better.
  3. Did this out west on Lake Powell very successfully. Would drop tubes on the beds with a light weight. If ignored would put Smelly Jelly on and "Bingo"....on to next fish.
  4. 3 inch senko or similar style bait on a 3/16 jig head. Either dragging across bottom or shaking in front of nose. Have fished this up to forty feet with good success. Color is important too.
  5. I can identify with what you say....well except for the double digit stuff....still waiting. Fishing has been good to me also. Tight Lines
  6. Always.....especially this time of year when the birds are singing and nature is so active and changing. Tight Lines
  7. Oh my.....did that back in Oregon...but our rivers were clear with no snakes either. You were a brave laddie.......
  8. Fingers crossed things look up for all.
  9. Wow...feel your pain....bled for several days after a fishing trip two weeks ago. I would have bet dollars we could have caught some keepers.....NOT!!!
  10. I've even had ticks on me in winter while below freezing temps while golf ball hunting here in Tennessee. Finally started using a product Repel makes for ticks...doesn't have deet (which I believe is a destroyer of many things) . But I have found it to be very effective. Good Luck
  11. Keep my knots very simple: Improved trilene Palomar Double Uni Have caught fish from ounces to monster sturgeon....no need to change....or maybe I'm getting to old and one way to change!!!
  12. Was a big number for sure. My first thought was ...gosh I hope they can fix the boat ramp now at Concord. All they need to do is get rid of a few rocks.
  13. Remember a state tourney on lake Powell many years ago where me and a good friend were pre-fishing. We were putting the hook inside our tubes and just fishing the backs of creeks. Also we were covering our tubes with Smelly Jelly at the time. It was sooooooo fun...we would get bit and try and lead the fish to the boat without setting the hook. We saw a lot of the fish in the clear water as we brought them in....never got to quit lip them ...but did get wet a couple times when they turned and left. Good times. Oh....good info above.
  14. Did this all happen from after a long vacation up "north".... Sorry................
  15. If you want a warm fuzzy feeling...do something for someone random. Either in a store or restaurant. Could be a kid staring at an outfit to go fishing with his dad or a family having a meal. Sounds like you been blessed.
  16. Agree with you both....but due to how I seem to be fishing and the luck I've had with my boat I seem to get a ton more smiles in my heart from my young granddaughter!!!
  17. You guys are a couple tuffy's!!!!
  18. I have a new 16 month granddaughter.....My new "love of my life". When she was a year old she was going through my bass fishing magazines.....KEEPER......
