Clear lake or the Delta would be awesome...for me...if I could use my boat it would be the Columbia River above the Dalles. Soooooo peaceful and hardly any people and amazing smallies.

Did see a couple snowflakes yesterday.....ewwwwwwww

Well on the humorous side....I guess just fish...don't work. On the serious side go to doc and get it checked. Good info above.

We are going to have a week of cold weather now and the tree's just started budding.....wow. It's to bad all our water now is muddy....maybe end of week will take out boat. They were chomping Saturday.

I've gone to pouring my own and use a light double strand of fiber guard. Have to do it all mostly by hand ... one at a time but like the results. I include the bait keeper too. It's not to bad when I consider I don't loose many. Not a fan of wire.

I've heard that down in the Amazon the also have large wasps that fly at night and if you shine a light....OH....%$#@. Nope...too many reasons to just stay here and enjoy the comforts of home.

When I lived out west and fished California lakes did some fizzing...Tom is right smallies and spots are more resilient. Largemouth...not so much. Now I'm a fan of the weights on the lower fins for a fish struggling. Seems to work real well for fish kept in a live well. They release real strong.

Interesting and fun reading all your different reasoning's....mine....as I get older the ol brain doesn't seem to be getting any younger other than forgetting stuff. As the days get longer I just flat wear my self out. I'm up early usually and so when I go fishing it's dawn to usually close to dark. I've had friends (kinda) want to go fishing and after four or five hours they casually mention...what time ya going in...I say...close to dinner probably....Oh...they say....wife wants me home earlier ….she has stuff for me to do. Oh....I'm thinking....!@%&....this guy will never see this boat again!!

It was raining sooo much Saturday I couldn't put my handwarmer in my pocket so on a whim I put it by my neck between my shirt and sweatshirt. Oh my gosh....that heat radiating down my neck and shoulders was amazing...amazing. (this will be continued)

Smiles.....not a big beer drinker....but seems we got a ton of those things from days gone by. They give em away at tourneys, golf events etc. Now I have a good use for them I hope.

Diabetic...gotta eat and eat I do while traveling between spots. Water, apple, maybe a banana, sandwhich (varies) whey protein bar, maybe an egg or two. Love eatin

Not sure if this is the right place to put this but I believe I figured out something and it's cost effective. Saturdays tourney saw over five inches of rain and my gear kept me dry....EXCEPT for running down my arm every time I cast. For some reason the wrist straps just don't tighten enough. So I thought about it and from past experience I knew that those cloth wrist bands only work temporarily so I looked for some neoprene type. Not to lucky...and then on the way home thought ….oh....I can use some of those beer can coulee things. Just cut off bottom and slide over hands to wrist.....I think it will work well!!!

No turtles …..but we had two for 6.63 I believe. Numbers were close...over half the field blanked....was crazy. There was 200 plus boats!! As the saying goes....we got good points

Wow.... From what I heard we had five inches in one day and 12 1/2 so far for the month....it be wet out east!!!

ohhhhhhhhhh Fished the tourney Saturday....couple turtles surfaced in front of me....partner says....DON'T YOU DARE!!!!! Sheeesh..……... I will say it is quite the experience when your fishing fairly new water and it rises almost twenty feet or more in just a two or three days.....Your looking at the bank and going WOW....sure looks different. Yesterday was a test of raingear to be sure….had to make three detours and one put it in 4x4 to get home. Crazy.

Lifting.....I have it too but didn't come until later. Some people I hear it goes away. Glad you found out early. All the best. Oh...on a side note that may make you smile...I don't know now what wakes me up more in the morning. A cup of coffee or that poke to check my blood sugars!!! Have a great day.
