  1. Gosh Tom…..sadness. Since leaving everything and moving to Tennessee I've enjoyed leaving the me...me...me...attitude of the slime rocket fishermen out west. We moved to be with our grandkids and although it's been quite the adventure it has been amazing. Attitudes of the fishermen out here are night and day different than back in Oregon. Making smallmouth on the Columbia basically a trash fish was the nail in the coffin. Best of luck and much future happiness to you
  2. Like above I use anything to catch em. In the land of bait casters here down south I employ the ol spinning rod a lot and it has served me well.
  3. Seems like different lakes have a special different color...not always concrete but I feel it's a good start. But I do believe colors are huge. Watermelon candy in a tube is my go to....but I carry a half dozen others to try at various times too. If I had a dollar for every time those bass wouldn't eat the green pumkins or black I'd be rich. Usually I don't experiment if catching fish on a special color...but sometimes it's fun and can be amazing. It happened again this last rain filled Saturday. Friend tried two or three different colors....on a drop shot....Nada. I had on a color called Bill's Money.....I had a good day....friend....not so much till he changed. Crazy.
  4. I Knowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Get well soon....
  5. Have fished the ol tube for many many years and my favorite is still an EWG hook threaded through a gitzit glider style lead. I like the compactness of the lead on the inside and it gives it a nice spin on the fall. For deeper fish I like the drop shot.
  6. Lifting you up. I also have had this $&!? But not as bad as you. Caught in time. When I found out I was eating too many nuts....sadness. Nut butters are not the same
  7. Used to work the Portland Oregon Sportsman show and it was big. Lasts a week and was exhausting Downside was it was almost all salmon steelhead related and skiers of coarse....ugh nothing against slime rockets but...been there done that and have caught hundreds and hundreds. Now the sportsman show here in Knoxville in a little bit in my opinion is very good and I really enjoy it. Almost 90 percent warm water fishing stuff.
  8. Love this site especially due to the zero garbage
  9. Wow....Well I have to head to golf course and clean the range. No not of snow....balls. And then will play 18 as I am still waiting for my floating tackle box Had a tourney last sat in a friends boat and we were blessed and won annnnnd got big fish..whooohoooo So hope this turns out to be a good year both in catching and having my floating tackle box back and running good. Stay warm ya-allll
  10. I understand....just thinking about getting an IV even chills me to the bone. I HATE needles.....and guess what???? Since I had the pancreatitis I am now diabetic sadness.......anyway.....be strong and get well
  11. Well...I can look a ways off and see the Hill which I hear is everyone’s lake not to like but...it sure gets hit. I like it...especially in winter. But also Norris, chic,Cumberland, louden,Watts,Cherokee and last but not least....Douglas. Living the dream
  12. Awesome...keep getting better. Remember my ol long stay in a hospital. I ripped out the ol IV's twice....kinda messy.
  13. Oh...my. Was in a t-shirt here in Tennessee a couple days ago at the show in Nashville...today....will be gloves...coat...sweatshirt etc.... Hope no snow
  14. Hey that's awesome.....thank you. I bet we could share some stories. I should know today or tomorrow....these dang fish in the Hill need some "LOVE" Have a buddy who's retiring and said when I get back...wanna go....wanna go. So may have to head to Norris (twist my arm ya know) I will probably turn down this sat but....lets get together sometime....would be awesome
  15. Do like me the "K"
  16. I use em all from time to time...probably the reason I give so many away to kids and such...I'm a junkie with tackle. But....have used Dry Creek tubes for years and they have done me good....very good....from coast to coast.
  17. I was blessed this last week and got to work the Big Rock Show in Nashville. Since moving out east almost nine years ago I haven't worked any shows. And have kind of missed it as I love talking fishing to people and selling baits. I won't mention his name as it is probably not right but I really love his plastics and this manufacturer is a class act. I will also say...wow....Nashville is quite the town.....country....country....country....it's awesome. Now I'm back home...heard the boat will be ready here in a day or so .... my throat is harsh due to so soooo much talking but I'm smiles and wanted to share. Now I'm catching up on my favorite website!! Oh....also brought home some baits that could be outlawed soon........:) Kidding
  18. Interesting...have made these same baits for years!!!! Now I'm making something else in rabbit that is awesome but am waiting for son to show me how to post pic's again!!! Well done....
  19. Wow...sorry for your loss....
  20. OMG...feel the pain. Someone recently said that is why Doc's are called Practitioners..(Practice on you) Good luck all.....
  21. Hmmmm if it's an evening game I'll watch and pick Alabama....if during the day I'll pick a local lake!!
  22. Oh...my. Well...since no one has answered I'll give my two cents. You have many fish in a body of water...they don't all bite at the same time. If you like to fish and get up early....get er done. If not...sleep in and go in the afternoon. Point of fishing....have fun!
  23. Mine did this too and I put one of those little rubber grips like you put on your level winds to make the handle bigger. Works ok...They come in different colors and such....
  24. Very nice...very nice....thank you
