  1. Get well all of ya....I know the feeling. We are sooooo susceptible to our health governing how our days go. "Lifted"
  2. I saw this awhile back....some people are amazing!!!!!
  3. I'm lucky to have a local shop close and it has a great selection. Yes some things are a bit more but don't mind to much as time and travel to other places make it up. Yes I can mail order and do at times but enjoy the hands on and the "BS" at times. He and she also hired a young buck so it's also good to see that growth too. Tight Lines
  4. Cool....he's been around for years and was and probably still is a class act......Thank you
  5. Since I use very few yards of braid on my reels for bass fishing and I use yellow which turns kind of white I just walk it off in the front yard. Fraying is the only changer for me. Usually get couple years off my line. I do use a fluro leader though so maybe this helps. Good luck
  6. I know this is a wrong spelling but check out a mai hai outfitters out of that area....been doing the float for years and they catch a ton.
  7. Might be good to just take him and coach from the bank...you don't have to fish but can sit back and enjoy what our good Lord created along with watching him. Tight Lines
  8. A lot of individuals have addictive behavioral. They are very tuff to overcome. I see it in family and I myself have gotten over the smoking one along with a couple others. Some may not consider them addictive....but they can be deadly. ie.....overweight from processed foods or soda...which can be very harmful. The list goes on but we are all big boys and girls so we know this and can handle this right!! Good luck to you all.
  9. Yup...kayaks can be hard to see....many are colored for stealth mode...especially in wind, waves, and low light. Kind of like a bike with out lights. One must be very careful out there on both sides.
  10. After 43 years and going through some of the adventures we have there really is no list and we pretty much take each day as it comes. There are exceptions of course but lately it seems it just boils down to how high a priority is it. She pretty much lets me fish anytime. And I also pretty much rain or shine keep up our one acre. Kind of hard after a storm but love burning fallen limbs and such. Garden is almost ready to plant. Don't watch a lot of TV so kind of work and do stuff till bout five and then its fix dinner and ahhhhhhhhh. Won't go into to much detail on the attitude but I will say I'm glad I'm above ground and so is my wife. Tight Lines
  11. Just listen to doc and take care of yourself and you'll heal up quick. I had it done in the good ol days and it was a little rougher. Tight Lines
  12. Enjoy....hope you can fish other places before that. Having to wait three weeks to fish would be terrible. I know....due to illness I've had to at times. Good Luck
  13. Wow....I know we can't all live in the south but dang......don't know how you guys do it. Again.....wow.
  14. To me everyday on the water is a gift from above to be enjoyed as it is. Many years ago while fishing tourneys I noticed someone seemed to always get em no matter what. So if I have the kitchen pass like mentioned above I go. Winter is one of my favorites as rainy days are due to the fact their are less people out on the water and fishing is usually pretty good. Like also mentioned above the fish are always around the area somewhere it's just unlocking the keys to figure those fish out...that's why bass fishing is so great and why we have so much tackle. Give me any day on the water and I'll thank the Good Lord for that day. If the fishing is better than I hoped I may be a legend in my own mind that day!! Tight Lines
  15. I remember many years ago when my dad first took me bass fishing to a coastal lake in Oregon. He cast a live newt into the tulles and it was hanging about a foot above the water. A short time passed and this five pound largemouth jumped out of the water and grabbed it. Boy was he surprised. (Miss Him)
  16. Always been tough for me to catch other peoples fish. Generally look at map or Lowrance (for hazards) and go fish my comfort zones or moods. It can be flipping, cranking, topwater...I be looking at the ol finder for deeper fish or surface activity for chasers. Love to explore and find fish.
  17. Then again if you have to ask...hmmmm maybe your heart is telling you to do something nice. I'm believing your in this for the long haul right? So thinking of others goes a long way.......just sayin
  18. This was a weird year. Had it happen a number of years ago too. A lot of them were on small 1/8 buzzbaits. On prefish days they ATE it. On tourney days they SPIT IT!!!!
  19. So ... so glad I can at least get out once or twice a week. But in between can be tough if weather is real nasty. Do like reorganizing tackle and thinking about what going to try next on the local lake. This year I'm going to work more with jerk baits. Never used them much out west and am sure enjoying them this winter. Just added three inches to shorter rod handle (not pretty you understand) to make a better rod for the application. Also going through all my old baits and adding new.
  20. Congrats and your lifted up from Tennessee.
  21. To relax more in the boat and not worry so much about @!#$ that happens. Stuff is going to happen....need to take more deep breaths...enjoy the company I'm with. After all its "JUST FISHING" For some reason last year I lost a lot of good fish....
  22. Being outside is an addiction for me. My wife LOVES golfing so I go with her when she is not golfing with friends. Usually one day a week. When I came down with acute pancreatitus the pain kept me on the couch curled up for several months. But thanks to the good Lord I was slowly able to get out with the help of friends and neighbors and pain killers. For awhile I couldn't even get up to go look at tackle...."what a ride" Now I'm able to go mostly all day and weather is not usually an option...or even honey do's. My wife is awesome. Oh .. yeah...occasional trips to ER and a day or two recovery have slowed me down on occasion. Tight Lines All
