Best Lure/technique For Windy Conditions And Muddy Water
Like others have said, use baits that draw alot of attention and move alot of water. Black, chartruese and red are good muddy water colors. A red spinnerbait with gold blades can be killer at times as well as a red craw colored crankbait. I wouldnt throw out a black spook or buzzbait either if you wanna throw a topwater.

Fishing A Swim Jig
Try a strike king bluegill colored swim jig with a reaction innovations skinny dipper in the sun-gill pattern as a trailer. This combination is killer and looks more like a blue gill than anything I have seen yet.

Favorite Rock Bass Lures/baits
Anything bright colors, especially chartruese. I catch them regularly on chartruese pepper zoom lizards and 3 inch chartruese grubs.

Spike It Melting Plastics?
Same here, never had a problem with spike it melting plastics.

You're Go-To Lures
Net bait T-mac worm green pumpkin with a chartruese tail on a 1/4 oz spot remover shaky head.

Most Versatile Lure?
Spinner bait for sure. Slow roll it in cold water, burn it in the warm water. Pitch it, flip it, fish it around cover or open water, they just catch fish all year long. Just change colors and blades depending on weather and water conditions.

No Confidence In The Chatterbait, Help!
Alot of my local anglers have been catching several good bass in tournaments lately with chatterbaits. This will be the second year i have thrown them and ive only caught one little dink throughout that whole time. I dont know what i am doing wrong i have tried different colors, retrieves, trailers, and even brands and no matter what i do, it just seems like i cant catch a fish on the infamous "vibrating jig". I was wondering for you guys that have success with chatterbaits, what techniques do you employ? They look great in the water and i believe they have potential so im not gonna give up yet!

Split Shot Rig
The split shot rig is the way i was taught to fish for bass by my dad when i was a young lad, so i dont even see it as a "rig/technique", just merely the foundation of my fishing. That being said, foundation means strength and success, so needless to say i have caught many a fish over the years with the ugly-old school split shot above a ribbon tail worm or lizard. Simple, basic and effective. It doesnt get much better than that!

Swim Jigs--Trailers
You guys that use twin tails or craws as trailers on your swim jigs instead of a single or paddle tail, how do you rig them? Horizontal or vertical?? It seems like to me a swim jig trailer with two apendages would be better off rigged vertical since you are trying to imitate a baitfish, versus a standard jig that you are fishing on the bottom to resemble a crawfish.

Whats Your Best Tactic When Fish Are On Beds??
Wow thanks J! A dropshot, or i guess almost a bubba shot with a longer leader, never crossed my mind as a technique for bed fishing. Gonna have to give it a try!

Whats Your Best Tactic When Fish Are On Beds??
The fish have finally moved up to the shallow coves and are beginning to bed on my home lake. I went last weekend and caught one 3 lber that had her fin sticking out of the water. Threw at 3 or 4 other similar sized fish multiple times, but they wouldnt take anything i tried. I tried flukes, beavers, jigs, spinnerbaits, senkos and even topwater frogs, but just couldnt get some of them to hit it. I know not all fish will take a lure presented at it when on bed, but i was wondering what you guys throw at fish on beds?? I know stealth is important to! Gotta love bed fishing!

Anyone Else Have The Clear Coat Peeling Off Their Veritas?
I hadnt even caught a fish yet with my first veritas when the top of the plastic part of the reel seat on the handle broke off, sending the rod flying while the reel was still in my hand. Contacted purefishing about it and sent pics and receipt and received my new rod in less than a week. I made sure the guides were completely straight on the first rod before i purchased it, and my replacement as well before i used it. Now after catching several fish with my new one i have had no problems as of yet. I absolutely love the way this rod feels and its extremely sensitive, just hope it holds up!

Does Anyone Fish Grubs Anymore?
The grub is one of my most confident baits because of their versatility and they just flat out catch fish! 1/4 oz head with a green pumpkin or salt n pepper grub is killer all year long.

Take Your Pick!
Ive been using the craws for several years and love them. Had my best success with them either on the back of a jig or rigged on a shaky head with the claws dipped in chartruese. Besides the craw, the toad was magic last summer. I bought a pack of the shad and toads to try out and i dont know why but the toad outfished the shad 3-1 for me. Next on my list is the shellcracker..

The Paa To Take Vote On Umbrella Rigs. What Are Your Thoughts?
If they are going to ban a fishing lure, id love to see them ban the HDS, Hyrdowave, and technologies of that sort. I know guys who fish tournaments that dont even pick up a rod till the last couple hours of the tourney, spending the majority of their time just idling around scanning. This isnt fishing to me...i used to have spots on my home lake that always held fish that ONLY i knew. With the introduction of structure scan, side scan, down imaging, 360 imaging, etc etc., this isnt the case anymore. I know VERY VERY few guys that are still competitive in local tournaments that dont have this technology on their boat. And no im not just saying this because i cant afford a $5000 fish finder and a box that makes my boat sound like a school of bait. I think they take away from the true art and mindset behind "FISHING". Just my 2 cents.

Yum F2 Mighty Bug And Sallemander
I havent fished the mighty bug but i have the sallemander and i have had 0% luck on it. I dont know why because the action doesnt seem bad, but i can put it down and pick up a zoom lizard and get bit every time.

Walmart Lure Extravaganza
I found this as well! Bought several spooks an pop-Rs!

Spincast Reels
I think all of the media and hype behind competitive bass fishing today has created the monster that causes anglers to worry more about how they look and what others think about them than actually the fishing tradition. Yes i had rather use a baitcaster or spinning reel, but not a day goes by that atleast 1 zebco 33 isnt in my boat. They are extemely versatile reels. I can throw a 1/32 oz jig for crappie and a 3/8 oz texas rigged worm all with the same setup. The zebcos are tanks and their ease of use saves not only time, but headaches too, like those caused when u bird nest that $300 revo freshly spooled with 65lb power pro braid. I can skip under docks with a 33 much easier than a baitcaster and throw the bait a mile, even into the wind. So say what you want, the zebco will always be a part of my arsenal whether a young kid is in my boat, or KVD himself. I will throw that "old school," "beginner rig" with pride!

Anything on a shaky head!

Black Lights For Night Fishing.
I dont have the facts to prove it, but it definitely seemed like i caught more bass night fishing after i got rid of the black lights on my boat and relied on headlamps and the moonlight. Its a little more difficult, but i have more confidence now without them.

I Might Be A Rage-Aholic
I LOVE all rage products, but specifically the toad and craw are unbeatable!
