  1. The 100mph suit and pro qualifier are both made out of the same goretex material, the 100mph suit just has more lining for colder weather. However I have found after wearing one that in any weather warmer than about 60 degrees I burn up in the 100mph gear. For this reason I chose to go the pro qualifier route and just layer up, this way I will have dependable waterproof rain gear that I will be able to wear during warm weather as well.

Mustad only comes in about 3rd on my list..
  3. I threw the perfect 10 rogue at table rock this past spring in march and I liked it. Seemed to have a good action even though I did not get bit. I'm sure I will at some point though, just haven't had another good opportunity to throw it more.
  4. Chatterbaits and spoons. Surprising since I have had a few decent days on a silver buddy and I see spoons and blade baits as being similar lures, but the only thing I ever hook up with on a spoon is a white bass.
  5. I have several different brands so take your pic, but a 7' mh/f would definitely get the nod for my most versatile rod.
  6. I will be putting some graphs on my new boat this winter and I am having trouble deciding whether I am going to put an HDS10 at the console and an 8 up front, or go with two 9 touches instead. I have used both the Gen2 and the touch, but i have spent more time with the standard Gen2. My question for those of you that either own or have experience with both is what are the advantages and disadvantages of each, and which would you choose over the other and why? The main disadvantage of the touch I can see will be having to use data gloves when it is cold as regular gloves would hinder its performance. Thanks in advance for the responses!
  7. Like papajoe said, I tend to break out the jika rig when the shakey head isn't getting it done. Or when fishing the water willows that surround the edge of several lakes in my region. The vertical fall of the jika makes it much more weedless and efficient around cover for me than a shakey head, which I have found is much more prone to snag on wood and catch on grass than the jika rig.
  8. I was about to say this. My ghost is an off white-yellowish color after less than a season. And the "Duckett Fishing" logo is worn off from treble hooks by the bait keeper. Otherwise, no major issues. I have the 7'6" mh deep cranking rod and even though it is a deep cranking rod I feel like it could be a tad more sensitive. I also have a couple of the older model veritas and I really like them. Broke the reel seat on my first one when setting the hook but they replaced it no questions asked. Overall both are pretty good rods for the money just go with whichever one you like the feel of more. Personally I lean a little more towards the abu. Like others have said remember they run stiff.
  9. This fall I have spent a lot of time on clearer water impoundments around Kentucky. After watching a video on youtube of a couple guys throwing a river2sea s-waver out in Cali and catching huge bags, I asked myself, why don't anglers in the midwest/east/north/south use hard swimbaits more often? Do you think they only work out west or are they just under-utilized in other areas because the delta is so renowned for swimbait fishing?
  10. A craw/creature bait has become nearly the only thing that I throw on a shakey head. A rage craw, paca craw, or havoc pitboss are deadly for me especially from postspawn through summer.
  11. Have one in a 6.8 gear ratio arriving today and it will get use in a tournament this weekend. I will report back to let you know what I think about it.
  12. My favorite way to rig a rage craw is on a shakey head. The other way i most often use them is as a jig trailer. The 2 colors i always have with me are green pumpkin and black with blue flake. Occasionally bama craw or pb&j will get thrown in the mix. Amazing action!! My favorite craw type bait by far! And who cares if they dont last as long as other lures as long as im catching fish i will continue to buy them!
  13. Dont be afraid to try out the donkey rig as well! I was skeptical at first but when i finally built up the courage to tie one up, i was amazed with the action and caught several nice fish!

I found that when you first insert the hook to texas rig it, insert it to where there will be more plastic on the bottom than on the top. This will help it to run right-side up.
  15. I purchased a St. Croix mojo bass swimbait rod rated for 1-4 oz. It suits me just fine and at a slightly over $100 price range it didnt break the bank.
  16. Black spinner with a nickel colorado blade at night is about the extent of my summertime spinnerbait fishing.
  17. I love the pitboss on a shaky head and have recently had good success using the boss dawg on a c-rig. I am itching to try the new moneymaker after watching the icast videos. I believe it could be killer when the wacky worm bite is on.
  18. Pearl...that is all. Lol
  19. 1/4oz shaky head with a black/blue ragetail craw. Hopping it around a boat dock with brush piles.
  20. Give him a wacky rigged senko and tell him to do absolutely nothing. Maybe an occassional wiggle. Can't be fished wrong!
  21. Hollow body swimbaits down deep and chatterbaits as well. I have caught a few fish with each but no where near enough to have confidence in either technique.
  22. ^^^LOL No doubt about it though, shakey head with a rage craw.
  23. Tequila sunrise, junebug, red shad, plum, green pumpkin, and black/blue fleck have all been good producers on KY for me.
