  1. Tons of ideas on youtube. Lots of DIY mods.
  2. Just a word of caution using anchors for canoes or kayaks. You have to make sure you have something that you can break away/unfasten in an emergency, like a clip just in case your canoe tries to flip. Also, do not anchor yourself in heavy current or heavy winds. I'd especially worry in your neck of the woods if you tipped. YIPES! Personally I'm not a fan of "anchoring", but there are times I'll do it when I'm deep water 10' or more but very rarely will I do that. If there is somewhere shallow or bed of weeds I can rest on it will slow the wind from taking you out. Also a make shift mini power pole is a better idea than using an anchor in shallow water, since you can anchor right next to your canoe and since there won't be much slack (ie an anchor line) then it should be much safer in regards to tipping. Also resting up against submerged or emerged stumps and trees is a great way too. Oh and another thought to add, you can make your own ties/clips so you can clip yourself to a tree. It's great when I am fishing in standing timber or any thing I can clip too. I'd advise using two clips to balance the canoe though. If you can get a kayak, I find it much better/stable platform. Especially a sit on top. My kayak is a Wilderness Ride 135, it's a beast I don't really worry too much about tipping. Fishing from a canoe in general was more unstable for me, because frankly I'm not that balanced. Of course you can mod the canoe to get it stable though.
  3. Ah thanks for the correction, I didn't realize they had a Floro braid too. Let us know how it works!
  4. Around wood I'd probably throw the buzzbait more. I like to fish popr's in more open water and less "cover", unless the cover is submerged a few feet.
  5. I have one on my Kayak. It's great to have.
  6. I was excited to hear he didn't see his shadow! W00t! That is for us guys here in Ontario that is.
  7. I was wondering if that Invisi-Braid really worked. I still get a kick out of your avatar pic with that small bass.
  8. For very large lakes on my Yak I study the maps and try to find hidden coves or isolated areas. The number 1 reason is because of the recreational water sports guys or people with no common sense and go full speed right next to ya. In general this is what I would do when fishing from a canoe/kayak on bigger lakes. Question though, I see you live in Florida. You must be brave fishing in a canoe with all them gators no? I wouldn't feel so safe.
  9. The prices much better. Too bad no Academy where I live.
  10. That is what I was thinking the whole time! Nice work on the video Weld.
  11. Clearly I should start frogging on all my setups. I don't understand am I thinking. Seriously that is insane amount of rods to frog fish. I have 1 rod that I tie frogs too. I don't see myself needing more.
  12. I have the Green Perch one, I haven't caught anything yet or used it much (4 times) but I haven't gotten into swimbaits yet. It seemed to have decent action though.
  13. Yes totally agree. It was pretty mind numbing for salt water for me. My brother and parents are still saltwater people and they think I'm crazy. I use to be like them. They also think I'm nuts for C&R too. They catch to eat, I don't.
  14. It didn't cast very far was the only thing I really disliked about the reel.
  15. I'd use it for the same as Dwight Stated. I have 7'2" version and it rocks for Jigs and Worms. However, I think it might work fine with jerkbaits. Only way to see is test it!
  16. I use to believe that regarding worms, However there is a local pond that for the life of me I can't catch a bass with any worm imitations! Seriously, I've been trying for 5 years and never caught one. It might be a different story if the public was able to use a canoe/kayak on the pond. Not allowed, so only bank fishing. I kill them on flukes, spinnerbaits, squarebills, swim jigs, drop shot minnow imitations, craw imitations, frogs..just not worms. I think the reason why is everyone there fishes with a live worm.
  17. This! This is why I love fishing for bass. When I fished ocean waters, it was easy to catch anything basically. I got big skates, sharks, cods, perch, bass, octopus..etc...whatever was in the waters i was able to catch (No offense to your saltwater guys!). Until I moved in Ontario, Canada wife wanted to move to her home country. For the first time I was land locked, no OCEAN! I started bass fishing and I regret I didn't get into it earlier in my life. It has been more exciting for me and I keep learning something new all the time.
  18. He'll be sending to you in the mail for free.
  19. I had one of those used the BPS Bassmaster reels, it worked pretty good. Until I bought a higher end reels. (Shimano Curado) Then I got rid of it 4 years ago, sold it for 40 bucks.
  20. I've sprayed it on my braid and did not see/notice any difference, just to test it out. I do wonder if it works on super slick PP though. Never tested on the coated braided lines. I don't buy super slick, so can't comment there. It might help or not.
  21. Actually you should take a look at the BPS flyer and see what is in your price range. It looks like the Tourney Special reel has solid review on the site. Although I'd avoid it myself because I don't like a graphite frame.
  22. Or if you can do a reel trade in, you can get a new Carbonlite reel that is on sale for 99.99 on sale and get it for 84.99 with the reel trade in. It is White and would match your Ghost well. Although it is out of your price range.
  23. BPS Pro Qualifier during the Spring FIshing Classic starting this Friday. 50 bucks.
  24. Boy did I make the mistake on that reel.
  25. I've seen reviews on youtube too. Curious after seeing the post about trolling, maybe it's their prostaff?
