  1. Guilty here too. I also have tabs labelled for different techniques.
  2. Ah man, this makes me wish that I picked that rod up for 64.99.....
  3. Thanks for the post Bdjr1, after seeing all of the recommendation and advice. I decided to flush my bearings last night and give the my Chronarch 200E6 and 50E some cleaning. They were next on my list anyway. After doing this, it was performing really well. I'm now in the camp that the stock bearings are fine! I'm going to turn my attention to my other reels (Citicas and BPS Extreme reels).
  4. Only way to truly test it is on the water. No way you can tell at the store. You just have to look at other things and do your research. In store I'll check them out and see how they feel.
  5. I've been wanting to get into big swimbaits, but what has stopped me is the thought of our favorite toothy critter up here our friend the pike. I get bit off so many times on a spinnerbaits and cranks that I get a little leery about losing a swimbait that costs 5 to 6 times more. Have you seen this problem being up north with me?
  6. I actually look forward to new stuff coming out so I can take advantage of the clearances.
  7. I have the 7 foot version and DVT is spot on. I use this rod for spinnerbaits and it was stiff enough to throw frogs too. It isn't a bad rod, a good entry level rod and still part of my arsenal...but more of a backup or bank beater now a days.
  8. Fishing World is top notch.
  9. I'm always tinkering with my lineup. Here is my main setups on a daily basis though. Spinning: Fenwick Aetos - 7' M/F paired with a Stradic 2500 FJ with 15lb braid. I use this for weightless plastics or deep water drop shot. Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth - 6'8 M/XF paired with a Symetre FI2500 with 10lb braid. This is my main fluke rod, drop shot and splitshot. I carry these two all the time. Both very versatile in all types of situations in a pinch. Casting: G Loomis GL2 - 893C paired with a Curado 200G7 30lb braid, this is my bladed bait rod and top water. Shimano Cumara - 6'8" MH/F paired with a Curado 50E, 8lb Floroclear this is my up to 1/4 to 1/2 oz jig/plastics rod. Shimano Sellus - 7'2" MH/MF paired with Citica G6 30lb braid, my crankbait setup shallow to medium. Abu Garcia Veritas - 7'3" MH/F paired BPS PQ 50lb braid frog rod and flipping and pitching. I have 11 more rods that I will mix and match, either because of the situation or because I feel like hey I haven't used you lately. Keep in mind even though they have a primary role most of them are interchangeable. Example, my GL2 can act as a back up frog rod.
  10. Where in Ontario do you live? PM me if you wish to keep that a secret.
  11. If you read my earlier post you would see I agree and that he needs two rods. If he removes Musky he can get away with a medium/fast rod.
  12. I'm thinking of doing this to my Chronarch 50E. I believe DarrenM has them on his. He posted about it, do a search.
  13. It he's going after muskie, not sure a Medium Fast stick would be sufficient.
  14. I agree that you should separate the tier. You are going to have a hard time using a MH rod for panfish. Especially if you're going to try and throw a 1/32 jig with a tiny tube. This is what I'd suggest get two rods. Look at the Crappie Maxx combos from BPS. They are on sale right now for 24.97 - 29.97. Then get a Pflueger President Combo from BPS for 69.98 MH/F your choice 6'6" or 7'.
  15. Someday I'll buy one of these...
  16. First I heard this. ZX Rods made by Daiwa too?
  17. So in other words you might never buy a Daiwa if you wait that long.
  18. I've never used the promotion for a PQ, but I don't recall either they are being excluded. I guess they did this because of the bottomed out price.
  19. Smoking deal. If it's going down that low, I may pick up 2. Thanks for possibly making my decision easier.
  20. I may pick up my first Carbonlite reel. Possibly another Curado CI4+
  21. I'm contemplating on getting two more rods, but I'm trying to decide if I want to try my own "custom" route or grab a new Carbonlite rod or Duckett Ghost..or maybe I get all three. I am leaning more towards a Carbonlite (White one) or go custom. I have 5 reels without a mate.
  22. For me it's not a breaking point. Performance is key, but I do enjoy it more if the combo matches up well. I do like the White rods though, I think they are more cheery than my Shimano rods, but I won't go out and buy all White Rods just because.
