Adjust to where the fish are...and what they want These things change...A LOT!
  3. I too learned thosw tricks on the flats of the gulf coast...i often miss polling up on tailing reds and spooky tarpon
  4. Exactly! If the fish give you a clear clue you had better listen!
  5. Tourny in Conesus saturday...cant wait! Ive never even seen the lake much less fished it lol
  6. People pick on me for always wearing long sleeves on the water...same for the amount of sun screen i out in my legs, feet, neck and face Besides a long sleeved white shirt is cooler that a t shirt anyday imo lol
  7. Lol...to be honest i have only one pack of senkos...they are watermelon pepper and have been in the boat for five years lol When i was in maine i loved a bubblegum fluke for smallies...almost like bobber fishin..watch the fluke dissapear and set the hook! Lol
  8. Indeed! Ive lost fish in salt to dolphin, sharks, porpise, jew fish, a d**n albatross, and a few others lol,
  9. Albright or uni to uni I prefer the albright...it held a lot of tarpon over the years so bass are no problem for it. Same for thw uni to uni
  10. If there are smallies chartruese and bubblegum are almost always good choices White is another good flavor
  11. Rod length and taper also play a role in line uptake on the hook set and retrieve...also the ratio is one thing but IPT is the number thats important
  12. Some day i will find a deal like that!
  13. Stick jackets and TW reel covers all the times unless the rod is on the deck
  14. One thing i have noticed is with the cooler temps and all the high dirty water there is not a lot a vegatation on my local lakes...that has hindered the catch rate imo...most of mt fish this year have come off timber and docks...very tight to and or up under them
  15. The best part was my 4 year old daughter congatulating me lol
  16. Same here...they are dirty dirty broadheads! I shot thunderheads for years then i tried rage...shot four deer and recovered them all but i never had a good pass through and my bow has plenty of KE Went to reapers three years ago and have had any issues...five dead deer all within sight on my stand and five clean passthroughs
  17. July has been pretty good for my Did well in pads with a frog and flippin under docks on cayuta both times i fished it. Slayed em pitchin docks on honeoye and waneta. Did well in cowanesque in PA with cranks and creatures friday
  18. Friday i had a 4.95 largie puke up a 7-8inch bluegillin my livewell Ive had muskie steal my fish before, and once i released a small sunfish that ate my jig only to have a big smallie come flying out of nowhere and eat it Ive also had a shark take away a tarpon...the tarpon was in the 120lb range...the shark was a hammerhead
  19. For the record the grip being split or full is not on my short list of deal breakers The feel with reel in the seat, balance, weight and percieved action however are....
  20. My legend tournaments have a split grip, so does my 13 ***...and guess what? They caught fish all weekend! So did my full grip premier and my full grip loomis GL2 lolI must not have a clue
  21. I say this every time DO WHAT YOU DO! Dont over think it. Fish to your strengths and be very observant, listen to the fish
  22. I dont mind split grips...not like my hand spends anytime on the split...even when i cast with both hands I only have three rods that arent split
  23. I know i lost atleast 20 bucks worth this weekend...but mine and my partners names name was at the very top of the leader board at the end! During the weekend i donated 8 tungsten bullets, 8 trokar hooks, three 6XDs, a jig, and a swimbait lol
  24. Three years ago yesrerday i fished my first tournament. It was a three day tourny on three different lakes. I did OK that weekend but learned a ton. Last year i finished in the upper half. This year in the same tournament i found myself in 2nd place nine pounds out of the lead, after day two i was bitting on the heela only 1.4lbs out of the lead. Finally yesterday morning something happend. I was fishing a long riprap area ( Along with the a few other in the top five) and i caught a barely leagal smallie. As i was measuring it it puked up a crawfish. Thats when the light went off! I switched everything to crawfish or similar on my deck except my crankbait rod lol. An hour later i had a decent limit in the well and ar the end of the day i was the winner!
  25. I direct tie everything Now when i throw a c rig i do use a barrel swivel lol...but thats the only time
