  1. I didnt go either lol I looked at the radar and the amount of red confirmed my fears...the storms were light at my place but the lake got hammered!
  2. Either will work fine but braid really shines in the thick stuff...braid however sucks around rocks and around some docks (depending what they are made of) making flouro a better option there...so plan accordingly and catch em!
  3. I would cut my line in .00024seconds lol
  4. Im trying to talk myself into a salmon trip right now...been years since i played with them
  5. A 40- 60 inch leader will work great...there is no need for any more than that. Ive fished much shorter leader in the gin clear water of carib and gomex with no issues. As for topwatet straight braid man
  6. You should come down to cowanesque some time farmer...yeah its a haul for you but id love to have ya on my boat for a trip there...its a solid lake with all kinds of different things to fish...only three docks lol
  7. I weigh and tag as i go...i do like to keep my bigger fish inone welk and smaller fish the other If i am catching fish in rapid sucession i usually tag later but i still separate the bigger fish from the smaller ones
  8. I t rig them mostly but use em as jig trailers from time to time as well
  9. ^^ ive always liked those lakes but d**n i hate that launch Its about 75 miles for me so i feel ya...i usually get up there two or three times a summer. So far ive hit waneta and lamoka twice, little lake twice, honeoye and conesus once each I havnt decided if i wanna hit rhe cv tourny of waneta/lamoka next weekend or not. Im thinkin i may just go fishing for me and thats it at one of my local lakes
  10. That would be nice on an august afternoon lol Long distance casts if its cold lol
  11. Chance of storms tonight in my neck of the woods...the charger is plugged in and the boat is hooked up!
  12. I wanna hit Oneida this fall something bad!
  13. Sometimes... Last week i was catching dinks on big stuff and fatties on small stuff...it all depends one what thier mood is
  14. No pics!?!?!? Ban! Just kidding...seriouly pics man Grats on the new stick! Now go catch something with it...after you post us up some eye candy
  15. I love my boat, i love my boat, i love my boat. She aint much but man i love my boat
  16. probably a jerkbait in the early spring or fall like my last one Deep down i want it on top water though...biggest top water for me came on a live target mouse. She was 6.2 and fiesty!
  17. Totally different animals man in terms of presentation imo. I have always prefered faster retrieves in rivers and i tend to pay a lot attention to currents, breaks, eddys, and rock structure I lakes i slow it down some and prefer more bottom contact baits however i usually have my usual assortment of spinnerbaits, cranks, and topwater on deck as well In a nutshell the priciples remain similar when it comes to bait and color selection and if you can find moving water on a lake you would be wise to fish it thouroghly!
  18. Bass never hide near bassboats any way...cmon people Noe pontoons on the other hand is a different story...
  19. My 201e was 179...and i love it cant wait ti get my hands on an I series. Only problem is igot CI4 chronarch lol
  20. I made a topwater lure out of wood once I cut it on a jigsaw, sanded for ever to get the shape i wanted. ( looked like a cross between a chugbug and skitter pop in shape) i drilled a hole into length wise and added two copper .177 BBs for weight transfer, sound, and to keep the tail low. I glued a small piece of a wooden dowel into the hole. Put two trebles on it, and float tested it. Then painted it an off white color, kinda like eggshell yellow Caught a fish on the sixth cast! I fished with it for one evening and then put it up. It sits on my desk at home now lol
  21. There is no reason for that....none! Why is it so hard to not leave a wake in the no wake zone? Ive almost been ran over twice because of idiots like that. Rip bass kids...
  22. Creature/craw for me...or a jig. No that i think about it i havnt tied on a worm yet this yeae lol...might have to break out the anaconda and go deep this week
  23. I have both...they are both very nice reels but chronarch performs better in almost every way. The chronarch is simple to adjust, casts better and palms better for me. I think the stx is a hair smoother on the retrieve. One thing i dislike about my STX is it seems like i have to clean it more often than the chronarch (same for my curado and citica) and i use the stx less. I also notice my Lews Tourny Pro needs cleaned more often as well. Honestly i think my Lews tourny Pro compares closer to my chronarch...but once again i feel the chronarch has the edge only it is much much smaller of an edge
  24. Caught a lot of fish, had a limit early. Water was up some but still very clear. Flipped a ton of docks and put of good numbers just no fat girls. Some good ones but no real good one. Worked the weed edges in deeper water with some sucess but once again no fat girls. Had a good time and only had one toothy critter come play...a nice northern and i got to keep my bait lol The fish were very spooky...if ya even knicked the dock forget it 16.11 won it...
  25. I like it! Five fish...thats the plan lol
