  1. Glad to hear he is home. I thank him for his service.
  2. Sorry man must have been a dandy fish. I'll echo everyone here that says re-tie a lot. Also check the line for any nicks from cover or toothy fish. I learned that lesson the hard way too.
  3. Thanks guys,we appreciate the continued prayers. She is definately in good spirits and willing to work hard to get herself back home. I understand every situation is different I guess that was a loaded question. My dad just told me last night that she will be able to stay in the rehab center longer than the 12 days so that is a blessing in itself. My dad says she is making progress. I guess they had her up and walking with assistance yesterday (which was really more like a shuffle) but for her to be out of bed and at least somewhat supporting her own weight... that's pretty encouraging. With the Lord's help maybe she'll be able to hold her 4th great-grandchild, my son, by the time he is born in late March.
  4. Anyone ever have experience with a hemmoragic stroke,i.e. family member etc.? (Its the bleeding one not the one caused by a clot) My grandmother had one last week. I saw her over the weekend and she has her mental faculties (THANK GOD) but she still has numbness in her entire left side. The rehab center is sending her home in 12 days. I guess that's all that medicare will cover. Anyway I guess my question is how long can I expect her to be "handicapped"? The doctors believe she'll make a decent recovery, but she can't even stand /sit up on her own right now because her left side is so weak. I don't see a full recovery happening in 12 days. Has anyone else gone through this with a loved one? Please send up some prayers for my grandmother, Beverly Tobaben. Thanks

Took me 5 years. I am in education so it was almost impossible to finish in 4 years. That's wonderful that you are working and paying off college as you go. Paying back student loans is a big expense.
  6. Man that sucks, hope everything works out.

Mike Rowe did an episode of "Dirty Jobs" on Discovery Channel with the fainting goats. It was pretty funny. That's a hilarious show
  10. Keen makes great shoes and sandals, they run about 70-100 bucks a pair but worth the money. I have a pair of each and love them
  11. You warm weather guys are killing me. I have a serious case of cabin fever too. 10 " of snow on the ground and another blast of the white stuff is hitting right now.

    Welcome to the site
  13. I agree. I'd rather watch Al Linder or even In-Fishermen
  14. I just remembered last summer we were out bass fishing and I hooked into one. Its pulling drag, I can barely move it. I'm yelling at my buddy to "Get the net it's a monster!" "This has to be the biggest fish I've ever caught!" During what seemed to be a 5 minute battle, I had developed a small crowd of boats that slowed down to see the fish. I could feel the fish shaking his head and bull-dogging down. Well, when I got it to the net I pulled in about 7 pounds of weeds and a nice stick all wrapped around about a 9" bass! The guys who stopped to watch just shook their heads in disgust and took off. My buddy couldn't stand up he was laughing so hard. He still won't net a fish for me without asking "are you sure you need the net?" Anyone else ever have a slight error in judgement?
  15. Nice pics! How big was the biggest pike? We have plenty of Ice here but I just haven't gotten out to punch any holes
  16. LOL! Unfortunately that depends on the degree of ugly. You and I both know a keg wouldn't make some people look any better. For example
  17. In Michigan Drop shotting was illegal until last year I think
  18. My buddy sent me this yesterday. Thought it was worth sharing
  19. Isn't it amazing when poeple can't understand the letter N and O when they are put together. One I used to do was when they ask "how you are today" I'd just say "terrible" and go on and on and on about how crappy my life is and my medical problems (all fake of course) and if they try to stop I just tell them "hey you asked how I was and I'm telling you, if you don't want to know, don't ask" and then hang up

I have had some success withthe YUM products. Haven't had much luck with powerbait.
  21. Take off and flying no problem. The landing scares the crap out of me. Heights are a bit of a problem for me. The guys I work with always say I have toe claws becuase I move so carefully on a roof. But the fear is getting better since I spent last summer roofing. I'm ok with the height its just the manner in which I reach the ground is what scares me. Ladder or Gravity?
  22. Bait Monkey has been responsible for a lot of fishing gear receipts in my house. I try to dispose of the evidence as quilckly as possible!

  24. I'll try it. Thanks, keep the ideas coming.
  25. My sickness got me in trouble the other day. My buddies were taking about going fishing in early April and I was mentioning how I may go if I was in town. Then the smack came to the back of my head (wife) because I didn't think about the fact that my baby is due on March 21st! Amazing what the thought of fishing can make you forget. I am an idiot, I know but this cabin fever is killing me!
